1. Have you learnt about Argand Diagrams in A level Further Maths?

2. Did you struggle to understand the fundamentals of how argand diagrams work?
3. Did you ever seek tools outside of the classroom in order to fill in gaps in your
knowledge, if so then what did you find useful about those tools?
4. Do you think that you would benefit from a graphing tool which can represent
Argand diagrams?

Student 1

1. Yes, I have done argand diagrams.

2. Yes, as the axis was different and the format of the equations was different. When
inequalities are added it gets even more confusing.
3. I used YouTube videos to help visualise it and used textbooks questions to practice it as
well as using exam questions. I found the YouTube videos useful because they showed
the process of the diagrams being constructed instead of just showing the end result.
4. Yes, it would be useful to visualise questions that I get wrong while doing practice
questions.

Student 2

1. Yes, I have explored argand diagrams when I studied further maths.

2. At first it was very straightforward with plotting simple coordinates, however loci
became very difficult with retaining the formulas and methods of equations.
3. Yes, I used madasmaths as a way to practice and support my learnings. This provided
full solutions for me to look through after attempting a question. Sometimes this
guided my learning and start of a question.
4. Yes, I believe a visual tool will help students such as myself to engage with the
argand diagrams.
