System Requirements
• g-Plac is an Microsoft (MS) Excel-based software with built-in Macros
• g-Plac’s minimum requirements
– MS Windows 7
– Excel-2016
• Set Macro Settings in MS-Excel
Installation
• Latest Release – Receive the latest release of g-Plac v21.07.02.zip
through download from Global Workplace Safety website or GM
SupplyPower SCoE website
– See Quick-Start Step 1 for Links
• Existing User – If you already had & used any prior version of e-Plac
/ g-Plac, download and unzip g-Plac v21.07.02.zip (or latest version)
into certain designated folder, and copy your original Support
Datafile (such as g-Plac datafile.xls) into that folder.
• New User – If you are a new user to g-Plac and do not have any prior
e-Plac / g-Plac data, download & unzip g-Plac v21.07.02.zip (or
latest version), and use the attached (g-Plac Datafile.xlsx) file as the
initial support datafile.
File Configuration
• g-Plac should be loaded and run from a shallow sub-directory.
– e.g. C:\g-Plac Tool\
• Required g-Plac tool is named: g-Plac v21.07.02.xlsm (or latest version)
• Required support datafile can be named in your own way
• Additional optional files that support g-Plac are:
– g-Plac Tutorials.pptx
– lockout placard approval samples
– language sub-directory for multi-language files

Datafile Control Features
• Each Data Sheet Represents One Lockout Placard
• LOAD Existing Energy Source Data Sheet (Placard)
– If you were working on a previous Data Sheet
(Placard), be sure to SAVE first
• SAVE Energy Source back to Data Sheet (Placard)
– The Data Sheet is a separate TAB within the Datafile
– Pick from Existing Data Sheets or Create New Data

• DELETE Existing Energy Source Data Sheet
– This will permanently delete the Data Sheet (Placard)
LEW Controls Features
• Row Up – This button MOVES the row of data where the cursor is located UP one row
• Row Down – This button MOVES the row of data where the cursor is located DOWN one row
• Insert Above – This button INSERTS a new row ABOVE the row where the cursor is located
• Insert Below – This button INSERTS a new row BELOW the row where the cursor is located
• Delete Row – This button DELETES the ROW of data where the cursor is located, and
MOVES the other rows UP one row
• Clear Row Data – This button CLEARS the data in the row where the cursor is located
• Clear All Data – This button CLEARS ALL DATA in the working area of the LEW, but keeps
the Placard Title Information
LEW Controls Features (cont.)
• GH Comments – This button GENERATES the DEFAULT Group Header Comments based upon the
CATEGORY and the IDENTIFIER information of each energy source / device
– GH Comments can be Manually Modified
– The GH Comments can be Very Long Strings of Text (e.g. for Zones, Conveyors / Multiple
Systems, etc.)
– Long GH Comments must have the Text Word-Wrapped and Rows Height Increased in the
Information Grid BEFORE Clicking Saving Output Placard Language Files button
– All GH Comments within a Group must have the Same GH Comment and GH #
• Assign GH #’s – This button ASSIGNS the Group Header Numbers based upon the GH Comments
– GH #’s can be Manually Modified
– This button also SORTS the ROWS based upon the GH #’s
– Rows with BLANK GH #’s and GH Comments will be Sorted to the TOP above the first Group

• Clear GH Data – This button CLEARS all of the Group Header Comments and GH #’s

labels / tags
3. Preview Placard – This button displays a preview of the
lockout placards
• The Placards must be Created before Previewing them
4. Retrieve Data from Output Placard – This button
retrieves / imports the data from all Placard Sheets within
an Output Placard file
• The routine starts from the Cell with the words “Energy
Source” in it
• Other languages must have the words “Energy Source”
placed manually
• The Retrieved Data must be Saved to a Data Sheet

Single Source Tags Features
• Multiple Single Source Tags can be
created within a single Datafile
• All Energy Source Device Codes are
Available as SST’s
• The ACTIONS Button has the functions
to create SST’s in Multiple Languages

• LOAD (Default) Default Single Source Data from the Datafile
• LOAD (Project) Project Single Source Data from the Datafile
• SAVE (Project) Single Source Data in the single source
spreadsheet area to the Datafile
• RETRIEVE Data from SST Tag file and place into the
spreadsheet area
– The data must be SAVED after it is Retrieved
• CHANGE Support Datafile where the Single Source Data
will be Loaded / Saved
• CREATE Single Source Tag to Multiple Language Files
Once you have finished entering SST information click “Generate Group Plac ID” button.
*Whether you run the output or not, you must save the changes to the datafile (i.e., save
datafile) in order to capture the Group ID and Maximo Number.
Next, to randomly generate Maximo numbers click “Generate Maximo No.” button and that will create a number for
each SST in the list.
