Description of the animal:
The giant Titicaca frog is an endemic amphibian that inhabits Peru and part of Bolivia. It is
one of the many species of Peruvian fauna that are in danger of extinction.
Its body is large and has a broad, flattened head. It is one of the largest amphibians in the
region, reaching a size of 30 to 50 centimeters and weighing up to 180 grams.

CHARACTERISTICS:
The main characteristic of the Titicaca Giant Frog is its skin, which is soft and loose in the
form of a sac and hangs in detached folds.
HABITAT:
The habitat of the Titicaca frog is generally in near ponds, streams and lagoons or human-
made ditches, canals and pools.

REASON WHY IT IS DANGER OF EXTINCTION:


It is currently in critical danger of extinction due to climate change, pollution of its habitat
and massive capture for human consumption.
ACTIONS TO PREVENT THIS PROBLEM:
1. not to contaminate their habitat
2. avoid its consumption
3. installation of new treatment plants in the lake.
