Close up
A close up shot is mostly eye-level. Its used for
changes of thoughts, emotions and feelings. Its
dramatically effective in terms of decision making
scene 1.
Extreme closeup

An extreme closeup shot is


focused mainly on the eyes, nose,
ears, hands, lips, etc..
It almost puts you in the mind of
the character.
ESTABLISHING
SHOT

An establishing shot is wide enough, could


be taken as geography. It can show the time
of the day, subjects vs its surroundings. Also
used for transition shots.
Dutch
ANGLE
Dutch angles give a sense of unease
and bewilderment. It magnifies
tension making the audience kind
of feel uncomfortable. Its taken on a
tilted angle.
HIGH ANGLE
A high angle shot is used to “beat the subject
down” make them look weak. Its unbalanced
within subjects.
Aerial shots - environment, character moving, used
as a threat, making the subject look weak.
OVER THE
SHOULDER

Over the shoulder/shoulder level has


no heavy connotations, its used in
conversations, affections and height
difference. Can also be used for power
difference.
LOW ANGLE
Low angles are taken below subjects eye line facing
up. It creates a sence of the subject looking
powerful. This is mostly used for villians or heroic
characters. Extreme or subtle.
