Tripod & Hand-held

A tripod is good for smooth camera shots, this is bets used in presenting a setting in a wide shot,
helping the audience figure out the connotations of the scene. A hand-held however, is used during
action scenes or POV shots, giving the audience a chance to feel what the character is feeling.

Extreme close(ecu)/ Close up/ Mid shot

This shot is best used to present the feelings/emotions the character is feeling. Close ups are also
best used in conveying emotion, especially in a sequence of action. Mid shots are more different to
the two close ups, they are used especially for presenting the characters body movements and the
setting of the environment they are in.

Full Shot
A full shot presents the full body of the character, clearly showing their body expressions and the full
shot will be easier for the audience to understand who the main character is supposed to be,

Long/wide shot
These shots are best used for the opening of a scene or the ending of a film or action sequence. This
shot also helps show the setting more clearly.

Extreme wide/long shots

This is the widest of shots, perfectly presenting the environment. Connoting the situation, the
characters are in. such as in Wall-E, the wide shot of Earth which shows how isolated he is.

Establishing Shot
An establishing shot is very similar to extreme wide/long shots. This presents the location of where
the character lives such as shot of the statue of liberty next to New York.

Over the shoulder shot

These shots best connote the audience spying. This shot also shows that there are two speakers
rather than one as a close or one shot.

POV shot
This shot helps put the audience in the characters shoes, making them see what the character is
seeing and making them feel as if the character Infront of them is directly speaking to them.

Cutaway shot
A cutaway shot is like a close-up, except is shows more of the characters surroundings and
showing more of their expressions and gestures.
Two shot
A two shot best shows two characters and that there are two speakers like over shoulder.
Dutch angle
Dutch angles are best used like spying on the action happening on the scene.
