Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the simulation of human intelligence in machines that

are programmed to think and learn like humans. The term "artificial intelligence" is a
combination of two words: "artificial," meaning man-made or synthetic, and
"intelligence," referring to the ability to acquire knowledge, reason, and solve
problems.

AI involves the development of computer systems and algorithms that can perform
tasks that typically require human intelligence. These tasks may include
understanding natural language, recognizing speech, visual perception, decision-
making, problem-solving, and learning from experience.

AI can be categorized into two main types:

1. Narrow AI (Weak AI): Narrow AI refers to AI systems designed to perform

specific tasks and excel at them. These systems are not capable of generalizing
their intelligence beyond the tasks they were programmed for. Examples of
narrow AI include virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa, recommendation
systems on online platforms, and image recognition software.
2. General AI (Strong AI): General AI, also known as strong AI, is a theoretical
form of AI that possesses human-like intelligence and has the ability to
understand, learn, and apply knowledge across a wide range of tasks, just like
a human being. As of now, we do not have true general AI, and its
development remains a complex and challenging goal.
