Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines,

particularly computer systems. These processes include learning (acquiring new information and skills
over time), reasoning (using rules and logic to solve problems), problem-solving, perception (using
sensors and data to understand the environment), language understanding and generation, and
decision-making. The goal of AI is to create systems that can perform tasks that typically require human
intelligence, such as recognizing patterns, making predictions, understanding natural language, playing
games, and more.

AI can be categorized into two main types: narrow or weak AI and general or strong AI.

Narrow AI: This type of AI is designed and trained for a specific task or a limited set of tasks. It operates
within a defined context and excels at performing that specific task, but it lacks the broader cognitive
abilities and understanding that humans possess. Examples include voice assistants like Siri or Alexa,
recommendation systems, and image recognition software.

General AI: Also known as artificial general intelligence (AGI), this is a hypothetical form of AI that
possesses human-like cognitive abilities, including the ability to understand, learn, and apply knowledge
across a wide range of tasks, much like a human. AGI would be capable of general problem-solving and
adaptability, similar to the flexibility and versatility of human intelligence.
