What is my level? SDE I, II or III?

A Software Developer Engineer could be leveled as I, II or III. The profile fit is based on background and
experiences. Your test and job process will be related to the level that fits you better (a decision made by
the recruiter before contacting you). In case of any changes, upgrade or downgrade, you will be notified,
but do not worry, this info is not important for now and won’t change anything in your experience in the
beginning! Our leveling criteria is very different from the market in general, so you will dive deeper in this
as you become more familiar with our process and company.

Where is the location of the job?

If you currently living in CDMX or under 100 kms distance from the office: We have a hybrid style of
work from CDMX Amazon offices 3 days a week.
If you are currently more than 100 kms away from the office: you are qualified for a relocation to
CDMX, we have a relocation package which will help you to cover different relocation expenses but it
does not include a housing allowance.

What is the level of English the positions at Amazon MEX required?

We require advance English-speaking communication skills; we understand English language is not the
primary spoken language in Mexico. The interview process requires some interviews in English as we are
part of Amazon LATAM team our communication language is most of the times English.
How is the compensation (or salary) and benefits?
The compensation or salary is based on the candidate’s expertise and performance in the process. We
dive deeper in this part after the last round of interviews. Basically, it’s composed by monthly salary +
benefits + Amazon benefits + Stock plan.

Is there more than one process for Software Developer Engineer in Amazon?
Yes! The Software Developer Engineer Process is very popular in Amazon in general and has a lot of
teams looking for SDEs. This SDE position is specific for the Retail Area and one of its Amazon.com
Teams! As we have a lot of openings, it’s important to mention that we accept also referrals, since we
don’t evaluate candidates as competitors neither compare their performances.

Can I participate at the same time of more than one Amazon Process?
Amazon process for SDE is standard across regions/teams if you feel this opportunity is not for you and
you are looking for something different, feel free to reach out your current recruiter and he/she can

In case of rejection, when can I participate again?

As Amazonians we have a promise to keep candidates aware about the results of the process in any

success, no worries! There is always an opportunity to re-apply

Will I get the chance to work abroad?

Yes! It’s something very common and fomented (in case of interest by the employee). It’s important to
mention that this change of country can only happen after 2 years of Amazon (but could happen
exceptions accourding to specific demands or areas).

What is the type of contract?

It is based in a full Amazon Hire “full-time” in Mexico. This person would be a direct employee by
Amazon.

How long does this process takes in general?

The job selection lasts about a month, considering that we always give candidates material and time to
study and compare availabilities before scheduling any stage. In case you are in other interview process
for other companies please let your recruiter know in case you need to expedite the process.
