Objective of the Study / Statement of the Problem

Introduction
Amidst the returning Physical classes students are now facing new challenges

once again in their studies as they continue their academic journey through In-person

classes, however the sudden shift towards online classes has been abrupt without a

solid preparation plan, brought by the unforeseen COVID-19 Pandemic. the COVID-19

pandemic has affected educational systems worldwide, leading to the near-total

closures of schools, universities and colleges. (Srivastava et al., 2020). A level of

adjustment and the employment of coping behaviors towards online classes has been

fostered by some students in the country (Barrot et al., 2021), while some only
experienced difficulties all throughout the two-year online based learning in the country,

from the lack of resources to a series of mental health issues (Ignacio, 2021; Alibudbud,

2021), with similar reports in other countries; Pakistan (Abbasi, 2020). United Kingdom

(Symeonides et al., 2015). With in-person classes returning, it offers us a new set of

perspectives from which we can look upon. Academic Self Efficacy is defined as the

belief of a student and their capabilities to achieve academic success, as well as the

belief in their ability to fulfill academic tasks and the successful learning of the materials.

(Hayat et al., 2020). Parental Involvement refers to the involvement in the education by

helping in the school and helping in the homework, and helping solving issues at home

that involve the education and the student. The active participation of a parent as a

guiding force towards educational and academic areas. (Young et al., 2013). Perceived

Parental Involvement centers upon the perception and primary observations and

understanding of the student towards one’s PI.

In exploring the relationship of both factors, emphasis is placed upon the aspect

of Perceived parental involvement. Various studies exploring Parental Involvement has

been primarily towards the perspectives of the Parent or Guardian as a self-report

measure. (Tus, 2021; Panol et al., 2021). Further emphasis is also placed on the Senior

High School years as it aims towards the preparation of students in their specific fields

before taking college education (MCM, 2021). Parental involvement in education has

been shown to have significant effects towards students of all ages (Hornby &

Blackwell, 2018). In this light the researchers aim to explore the level of Academic Self-

Efficacy and Perceived Parental Involvement of Senior High school students; amidst the

returning in-person classes.

Statement of the Problem
1. To assess the level of Academic Self Efficacy of Senior High School Students in
terms of the following indicators?
1.1 Auto-regulatory behavior
1.2. External emotion management
1.3 Collegiality
1.4 Internal emotional management

2. To asses the level of Perceived parental Involvement of Senior High School students
in terms of the following indicators?
2.1 Students’ Perceived Parental Academic Ambition
2.2 Student’s Perceived Parental Involvement in Education

3. To identify the significant difference in the levels of the following Perceived Parental
Involvement indicators?
4.1 Student’s Perceived Parental Academic Ambition
4.2 Student’s Perceived Parental Involvement in Education

4. To determine the significant relationship between Academic Self-Efficacy and

Perceived Parental Involvement of Senior High School students?

Theoretical Framework
This study is anchored upon Epstein’s Six types of Parental Involvement
framework. Where the six types of collaboration Parenting skills, Communication,
Voluntary aid, learning at home, Decision making, and Work with people, encompass
the Dimension of Parental Involvement. In which Epstein implied a strong relationship
towards parents and guardians who were informed and engrossed in their children’s
trainings can bring Sanguinely impact their child’s attitude and performance.
In addition, this Is also anchored upon Albert Bandura’s Self Efficacy theory of
Motivation, in which Self Efficacy is positioned as a predicator on Behavior and
Performance, and is influenced and directed by Experience, Vicarious Experience,
Social Persuasion, and Physiological Feedback. (Bandura, 1999). Self-Efficacy is
directed towards a person’s perceived inclination and beliefs of how well one could
execute a given objective or task. (Bandura, 1997). Furthermore, recent additions to
concept of self-efficacy follows; self-Efficacy beliefs leads to the individual’s excellent
performance through increasing commitment, endeavor, and perseverance, in a
designated area (Mutlu, 2018).

Conceptual Framework

Figure must be presented in this section

*Conceptual & Theoretical Frameworks are only needed during Title Defense. It
must not (explicitly) reflect in the Outline Manuscript. Discussions of Conceptual
& Theoretical Framework should be integrated in the Introduction Section of the
Outline and Final Manuscript.

Method

This inquiry will use a qualitative research design using a phenomenological

approach. Qualitative research requires the collection and evaluation of non-numerical
data (such as text, video, or audio) in order to understand concepts, points of view, or
experiences. It is used to learn more about how people perceive the world. While there
are several techniques to qualitative research, they all have in common the ability to
preserve rich meaning when evaluating data. Qualitative researchers usually see
themselves as "instruments" in research because all observations, interpretations, and
analyses are mediated via their own personal lens. Interviews with instructors who use
animated videos in their classrooms are part of this phenomenological investigation.
The study will use a descriptive method to evaluate instructors' experiences to learn
about the strategies and obstacles they have experienced when using animated movies
(Bhandari, 2022). Phenomenology is a qualitative research approach that focuses on
the shared experience of a group of people. The approach's primary purpose is to arrive
at a description of the nature of the specific phenomena (Creswell, 2013). Thematic
analysis is a data description procedure, and it also requires an explanation of the
processes of identifying codes and establishing themes. It is a qualitative data analysis
method that involves scanning all over a data set to classify, scrutinize, and report on
similar patterns (Braun and Clarke 2006).
