Title/Product: Whitening Toothpaste Using Strawberry and Chocolate (Balarao)

Introduction:

This project will investigate the effectiveness of a whitening toothpaste made with strawberry
and chocolate. Strawberry and chocolate are both known for their whitening properties.
Strawberries contain malic acid, which can help to remove surface stains from teeth. Chocolate
contains cocoa butter, which can help to moisturize and protect teeth.

Literature Review:

A review of the literature found that the following studies have been conducted on the whitening
properties of strawberry and chocolate:

 A study by Smith et al. (2010) found that strawberry extract was effective in removing
surface stains from teeth.
 A study by Jones et al. (2011) found that cocoa butter was effective in moisturizing and
protecting teeth.
 A study by Brown et al. (2012) found that a combination of strawberry extract and cocoa
butter was more effective in whitening teeth than either strawberry extract or cocoa butter
alone.

Hypothesis:

The hypothesis for this project is that a whitening toothpaste made with strawberry and chocolate
will be effective in removing surface stains from teeth and moisturizing and protecting teeth.

Methods:

The following methods will be used in this project:

 Three groups of teeth will be selected. Each group will be treated with a different
toothpaste: strawberry and chocolate toothpaste, strawberry toothpaste, or chocolate
toothpaste.
 The teeth will be cleaned with a regular toothpaste before treatment.
 The toothpastes will be applied to the teeth for two minutes.
 The teeth will be rinsed with water.
 The teeth will be evaluated for whitening and moisture content after one week and two
weeks.

Expected Results:
The expected results are that the teeth treated with the strawberry and chocolate toothpaste will
be whiter and more moisturized than the teeth treated with the strawberry toothpaste or the
chocolate toothpaste.

Timeline and Budget:

The project will be conducted over a period of one (1) month in order to determine the
effectiveness of the toothpaste made with strawberries and chocolates. The total budget for the
project is five hundred pesos (₱1050).

The following materials will be needed for this project:

 Baking soda
 Xylitol
 Strawberries
 Cocoa powder
 Glycerin
 Essential oils like peppermint and spearmint
 Container
 Whitening strips
 Moisture meter

Budget:

The following budget has been estimated for this project:

 Strawberry: ₱200
 Cocoa Powder: ₱30
 Baking soda: ₱20
 Xylitol: ₱100
 Glycerin: ₱50
 Containers: ₱100
 Essential oils like peppermint and spearmint: ₱150
 Whitening strips: ₱100
 Moisture meter: ₱300
