 INTRODUCTION

a. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY - CRUZ, MARION ANGELO B. &

MACALE, ROMAH EULYSSA E.

There are many different types of fashion styles around the globe; a pair of shoes was one

of the elements use to complete a style. According to goodfellowcleaners.com, a pair of

shoes can tell you so much about a person – having clean shoes is important to leave a

good impression to other people.

Philippines is a country once colonized by the Spaniards for 327 years so Filipinos are

influenced by European culture in different ways such us our food and even fashion,

especially shoe wear. Brands like Adidas, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Valentino, and many

more are brands with shoes that are desired and bought by Filipinos despite how

global net sale of Adidas was about 14million USD in year 2021 alone. (should be stated

here if that is for all the products or shoes alone)

With so many colors of shoes available in the market, the color white is one of the hottest

shoe colors of the season according to thetrendspotter.net/. Nowadays, shoes are

something we utilize in our daily life when we go outside or undertake outdoor activities.

Shoes are usually stained or become dirty since they are used to cover our feet. They can

also be used to protect our feet from injuries and to display fashion to others, especially

in the Philippines.
Therefore, the future researchers will come up with a product that can clean and whiten

shoes, especially white colored shoes with the use of Kojic and Colgate (Toothpaste).

Kojic is a type of chemical compound that is soluble to water. It is created by many types

of fungus, and it is also affordable and a natural preservative that can increase the lifetime

of the product to food and other sort of items such as cleaning agents since it has a

property of being a bleaching and cleaning agent not just for skin (medyo redundant.

Better to rephrase or think of another description). Toothpaste, on the other hand, should

only be white (why white only?). It is an excellent cleaning agent for shoes (How sure are

you that it is an excellent cleaning agent? Where are your facts?), particularly for white

shoes and can be used even if you are on the go.

b. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM - CRUZ, MARION ANGELO B.

 The future researchers’ aims to determine the effectiveness of the shoe wear

cleaning agent made with Kojic and Colgate (Toothpaste) on any type of shoes.

It will also seek to answer the following questions:

1. What type of cloth can be more effective when using the shoe wear cleaning

agent?

a. Wet

b. Dry
 2. How long will it take to see the effectiveness of this product?

3. How will this cleaning agent made from Kojic and Colgate (White

Toothpaste) mixture will be used in shoes in terms of the following:

a. Dust

b. Dirt

c. Stain

d. Grease

4. Is Kojic compatible as a shoe cleaner and whitener if you mix it with

toothpaste? Di ba niya kinokontra study niyo?

c. HYPOTHESIS OF THE STUDY - LUSUNG, KARLA ANDREA V.

1. If our consumers will use the shoe wear cleaning agent the it can whiten and

maintain the cleanliness of white shoes (ano to? Hindi match sa 1st part of the

sentence)

2. The result of the shoe wear cleaning agent will be seen for a short period of

time.

3. The product may not be effective, if the ratio of the two ingredients is not

properly scaled and thought.

d. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY- CODIZAL, EZEKIEL R.

 This study will be done to investigate ways to make our shoe wear cleaning agent

more convenient to use because it is inexpensive, it can be used anytime and

anywhere, and does not hurt the environment (sure kayo that it’s not harmful to the

environment? If not, remove this statement). It will assist persons who are engaged

in outdoor activities such as travelers, hikers, and athletes who need to clean their

shoes right away. This can also aid the problem of the students with dirty shoes at

our school, San Roque National High School (SRNHS).

 Respondents – This study will help them easily clean the stains in their

shoes by using the product.

 Consumers – This study will serve as a basis for them that Kojic can also

be used in other things aside for skin whitening.

e. SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS - Cruz, Marion Angelo B.

This study only focuses on the effectiveness of the cleaning agent that will be prepared

with the use of Kojic and Colgate (White Toothpaste) on white shoes and white shirts

(bakit bigla may white shirt na dito?) that are made with 100% cotton fabric (Blue

corner). As references, recent studies and researches as well as Review of Related

Literature (RRL) will be utilized.

This study will not include other aspects such as the product cleaning all types of shoe

except white shoe or white fabric, and will not be something that is multifunctional. (di
