● My home is in Aubrey, TX, so from the map I can see that it’s on moderately
deee-deep soil on the Upland Savannahs.
● This soil has good drainage and is loamy with slow-moderate permeability.
● The soil is sandy, 2-5% slopes, and on top of a layer of clay. This affects the
landscape by providing gentle slopes, but the clay is deep enough underground
that there’s still a good top layer of plant growth and fertile soil.

Pt 4
● I’m planting Echinacea purpurea.
● I’d plant it to the side of the house because it requires direct sun and the front
and back of the house would be in shadow.
● They bloom in the summer so I would plant them in early september so they
don’t die in the cold weather coming up.
● They like enriched garden Loam. Thankfully my soil type is pretty loamy, but it
would need to be fertilized I believe.
● Bluebonnets also do well in loam. Thankfully so, because I grew up with
bluebonnets everywhere and really want them. They’re great for bee populations
and natural biodiversity.
● Agastache urticifolia 'Alba' grows well in my soil and attracts butterflies, are
hearty, and resistant from being eaten by animals.
