| Conduct, respectfully requests that this Court issue an Order authorizing the public
broadcastingoffuture courtroom proceedings in this cause. In supportof saidMotion,
Defendant Allen states as follows:

1. Rule 2.17 of theIndi al Conduct generally prohibits |

| ‘broadcasting,televising,recording,ortaking photographsinthe courtroominareas |


immediately adjacent thereto. However, the Rule was recently amended (effective May
| 1,2023) empoweringallIndiana trialcourt Judges,attheirdiscretion,toauthorize the |
‘broadcastingof legalproceedingsintheirrespectivecourt proceedings;
2. The Rule permits public broadcasting so long as the meansofrecording will
oftheproceedingsand solongas the
notdistract participantsorimpairthe dignity
‘broadcasting is restricted to non-confidential proceedings (seeINSTCJC Rule
207()(@) and (8);
| 3. Thefactsandcircumstances surroundingthiscasehaveattractedthe
attentionofthe public on a national level and even the attentionofothers around the
globe. Asa result ofhis attention, the systemofjurisprudence in the State ofIndiana

6. The justice system and the general public willbenefit from a public
broadcastofthepre-trial proceedings andanytrialthatmayoccur inthiscause forthe
following reasons:
a. Theproceedingswillundoubtedlygenerateahigh levelof
viewership allofwhichwillofferuptheopportunityforconstructive |

againstindividualconductthatmightotherwisebedistracting tothe
proceedings;
