Allegations of Misconduct Lead to Employee Transition

Lakeshore Public Schools was recently notified of misconduct allegations involving a teacher.
The misconduct allegation does not appear to involve the district as the relationship with the victim did
not occur through their position as a school teacher. And the misconduct allegation does not appear to
have occurred on school property. Law enforcement was immediately notified, and the teacher formally
retired from their district position.

“In unusual situations where allegations involving employees arise, district policies and
procedures guide our response,” stated Greg Eding, Superintendent of Schools. “We take all
allegations seriously, even when they do not appear to involve the District. We cooperate fully
with law enforcement as they investigate the situation. As an educational community, we have
high expectations and are committed to excellence in all that we do.”

Because of the ongoing police investigation, school officials note that no further comments will
be made according to district policy. Questions should be directed to the Lincoln Township
Police Department.

When transitions occur, the District seeks to implement a seamless process regarding the
employee’s responsibilities. As is typical when teachers leave their position mid-year, school
officials noted that they would provide frequent communication to families that have students
impacted by the departure.

“We recognize that when early departures occur, additional support is often needed,” noted
Superintendent Eding. “Families should not hesitate to contact their building administrator or the
central office if further assistance is needed or desired.”

School officials noted that in unusual situations, curiosity is natural. However, speculation may
harm the investigation and is not helpful for the individuals involved. If you have additional
information, please do not hesitate to contact the Lincoln Township Police Department or district
offices.

As an educational community, Lakeshore Public Schools remains committed to providing an

exceptional education in a safe and nurturing environment. Together, the school and community
are dedicated to empower students to excel in our global society.
