“I really enjoyed reading your book. I think you

were able to condense various topics and add your own
flavor to the material. I could also feel your passion in
your introduction which makes the story more relatable
and impressive. I also appreciated that you gave a brief
overview of how to use trading platforms since I think
that's one of the biggest barriers keeping people from
trying to invest in foreign stocks. Overall I think it can
stimulate the desire to be financially free while also
putting in perspective what real wealth means.”
- John Krister Mendres,RN

"THIS BOOK IS A GOLD MINE! Kapag

ng hundreds of self-help, entrepreneurship, business,
and investing books. Parang nag-attend ka na din ng
seminar ng mga greatest minds of our time like Tony
Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki, and Robin Sharma. Ralph
really did us, the readers, a great service by writing this
book. I hope that many people would see this book. It
may not be written perfectly, but I believe that the goal
of every pursuit must be to serve others, and this book
delivered on that, tenfold."
- Japeth Z. Rueda, Top 7 May 2018 CPA Board Exam

“Ralph brings us a great manual and an easy-to-

read primer on self-development and building a good
relationship with money. The book is designed to be a
must-read for every Filipino who wants to own their
future!”
- Dennis C Arias, CPA, SAVP Philippine National Bank Retail
Lending Division Head

“Reviewing from a point of view of an individual

who probably witnessed it all, I can attest that Ralph
Joshua Javier takes the saying ’practice what you preach’
seriously. By sharing his vulnerable experiences for the
first time, I can conclude that his success is not an
overnight affair but a fruit of cumulative hard work,
determination, and never-ending learning. By putting
his passion to help Filipinos become rich in a book,
every sentence Ralph Joshua writes truly makes a
statement.”

- Pope Paul VI
Introduction

Hi, ako nga pala si Ralph, isang self-made

millionaire.

I became a millionaire at the age of 23 by building

small businesses, and investing in stocks, real estate, and
cryptocurrencies. I’m now living my best life!

Let this book be my way of giving back. Nais

In this book, I will teach you how to become a

Rich Filipino.

11
Let’s start at the very beginning. My journey
began when I was a kid. I was heavily bullied because of
my big ears, curly hair, dark skin, short and thin. People
called me all sorts of names like daga, katutubo,
mabaho, negro, pangit, pulubi, uling, at kung anu-ano
pa. I didn’t have a lot of friends. When I was in grade
school, I ate alone during lunch. I never participated in
class because I didn't believe in myself.

at binugbog nila ako. I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t
fight back because I was too weak and small. At dahil
May
nakakakita. Sobrang nakakahiya. I still hear everyone’s
laughter up to this day. It affected my self-esteem.

Back then, ako rin yung kadalasang pinakamaliit

sa klase. It’s either ako yung una or pangalawa kapag
pinapapila kami by height. Bukod sa maliit at payat,

I was never

good in school. Never nanalo ng awards. Hindi ko rin
napaakyat ng stage ang mga magulang ko. Lagi akong
pasang-awa at kinailangan ko pang magpa-tutor dahil
hindi ako makasabay sa mga kaklase ko.

When I was in first year high school, I started

Every week
may Bible study and other church activities. Sumasali
ako sa mga ‘yon and I also did what I can para
makatulong sa simbahan. Sa murang edad, nakita ko ang
mga problema ng maraming church members at
volunteers. Siguro 90% of them are living in poverty o
may problema sa pera. I saw a lot of good people who are
living in poverty. When they would pray, they would ask
for financial help. Meron akong churchmates na
napilitang huminto sa pag-aaral dahil wala silang
pambayad sa tuition fee.

13
But everything changed nung
Poor Dad.

“Poor people work for money. While rich people,

let money work for them.”

Nung nabasa nila yon, they took massive actions.

Nag-quit agad sila sa trabaho nila, and they started to
apply everything they learned. Nagsimula silang
magtayo ng kanilang small business and the rest is
history.

Nasubaybayan ko yung dahan-dahang paglaki ng

negosyo ng mga magulang ko. Hindi extravagant ang
buhay namin pero they were able to lift our family out of
poverty.

14
Poor Dad. I also read other books about
entrepreneurship. When I became a youth leader sa
simbahan namin, bukod sa Word of God, I’d also talk
about what I learned from the books I read about
entrepreneurship. I’d share my learnings with the youth
at our church. Dahil gusto kong matulungan silang
maka-ahon din sa kahirapan.

The thing is, people will not listen to you kung

Well, it is true—paano mo sila tutulungan maka-ahon sa
hirap kung ikaw mismo mahirap? How will you motivate
them to work towards a better future, kung ikaw hindi
mo pa nasusubukan o nagagawa? That’s why
nagsumikap akong maging successful, para magkaroon
ako ng boses. Para mapakinggan.

Nagsimula agad akong magtrabaho sa sales nung

first year college pa lang ako.
gastusin ng mga magulang ko, and also because I really
wanted to become independent.

When I graduated from college in 2017 at the age

I implemented the right habits,
the right mindsets, and the right strategies of the rich.
By the age of 23, I became a self-made millionaire. I
bought my own house and my dream car. I started my
own companies and invested wisely.

I decided to share my story with you because if I

can do it, you can do it too. There’s no excuse for you not
to be successful. It doesn’t matter kung ano ang
katayuan mo sa buhay. It doesn’t matter kahit ano pa
ang itsura mo. It doesn’t matter kung mahina ang
katawan mo.

Sabi nga ni Bill Gates, “If you are born poor, it’s
not your mistake, but if you die poor it’s your mistake.”

16
Ang pagiging mayaman ay hindi lang naka-base
sa dami ng pera. You need the right tools. The good
thing is, you can get those tools. Once you have them,
walang makakapigil sa ‘yo maging mayaman. If you have
the right tools and you know how to use them, kayang-
kaya mo rin maging isang milyonaryo. Kayang kaya mo
rin maging isang RICH FILIPINO.

In this book, I’ll teach you everything I did to

become successful. I will teach you the right habits,
mindset, and strategies na ginagamit ko. If you apply
these things, I’m telling you, you will become a
millionaire. You will become a RICH FILIPINO!

Why did I write this book?

I wrote this book because ever since I was a child,

kahirapan and I became rich.

That is why I want to help. Gusto ko naman

makatulong sa mga Pilipino na naghihirap. Gusto ko rin
maranasan ng bawat Pilipino na guminhawa ang
17
kanilang buhay.
That’s
my dream, to help Filipinos become rich.

I wrote this book because I want to help Filipinos

reach their full potential. Everyone can become rich,
kahit sino ka pa at kahit saan ka galing. You can become
rich. You alone have the power to change your destiny.
Wala nang iba. Let me help you, I will teach you How to
Become a Rich Filipino.

If you’re ready to go on this journey with me,

turn the page and start reading!

Chapter 1

Gusto Kong Yumaman.

Saan ba Ako Magsisimula?

“Hindi mo kailangan maging

magaling para magsimula. Kailangan
mo lang magsimula para gumaling.”
- Ishmael Padigos

Start Wherever You Are

team. This quote inspired me to never fear to start
something new.

Lahat ng expert ay nagsimula bilang beginner. It

You can start your millionaire journey wherever

you are.

It is okay, you can start wherever you are.

‘Wag mo masyado pahirapan sarili mo - you do

not need to be perfect to start something in your life.

22
SAAN BA AKO MAGSISIMULA

Parang yung ginagawa ko ngayon, I am writing

this book kahit hindi naman ako writer. First time ko
Kung mababasa mo yung first draft
nito, ay naku! Mali-mali ang spelling at grammar, kahit
na Taglish pa! But I do not care. Basta ang importante
simulan ko na ngayon. My goal is to write a book that
will inspire Filipinos to become rich! Kahit na hindi ako
magaling sumulat, I will do what I can to finish this
book, get it published, and give it to people.

One step at a time. Hindi naman
kailangan ng malaking hakbang. Sapat na kahit maliliit
na hakbang muna. Basta ang importante simulan mo at
hindi ka huminto.

Become a Dreamer Again!

Let me challenge you today to restart again. It is

never too late to start all over. You are not starting from
scratch, you are starting from experience.
23
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Re-invent yourself, START FROM THE

BEGINNING. You have the power to change your life.
Take control of your life.

Kung wala kang gagawin, walang mangyayari. At

You can be a millionaire and you can reach your

dreams, just start wherever you are.

Fear of Failure

Siguro sinubukan mo ng magsimula ng negosyo,

you invested all your money tapos walang bumili,
walang sumuporta at bumagsak. Siguro sinubukan mo
Siguro you tried to create
your own project, pero pinagtawanan ka lang ng ibang
tao.

You gave your
24
SAAN BA AKO MAGSISIMULA

all, all the money, all the attention, all the energy and
resources na meron ka but still nagfail pa rin. Hindi ba,
ang sakit?

Iba-iba ang approach natin sa failure. Some

people are traumatized dahil nabigo sila, kaya’t ayaw na
nilang subukan muli.

Nobody wants to experience that kind of pain,

The Pain of Failure! Siguro di ka pwede magfail kasi may
pamilya ka na sayo lang umaasa. I get it. Mahirap talaga
But it is what
it is. There are risks in everything, but you just need to
pangarap mo. Do it for them! Just take that step and do
not be afraid of failure.

Ang pinakamalaking dahilan kung bakit hindi

tayo makapagsimula is because we are afraid of failure.
But we do not have to be. Let me give you reasons why
you should not be afraid of failure.

25
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Why should you not be afraid of failure?

1. Failure is a part of the process

You need to remember that failure is a part of the

process. Failing is normal at naranasan yan ng lahat
ng mga naging successful sa mundong ito. Walang
exempted! Lahat ng mga nangarap, lahat ng
sumubok maabot ang pangarap, lahat sila nag fail at
some point! And it is okay to fail! Failure is part of
the process!

2. Failure helps you grow

When you fail, you learn. So that the next time

you do it again, it will be better. See failures as
lessons. Lessons that will help you grow. Do not
waste failure, do not discourage it. Accept it,
embrace it and learn from it! And do not be afraid of
failing over and over again. It just means that you are
stepping out of your comfort zone trying to grow and

26
SAAN BA AKO MAGSISIMULA

improve. When you are failing it means you are

growing! So friends, keep on growing! Keep on
failing!

3. Failure is a gift

Failure is a gift! Naalala ko dati nung college ako,

I chose the course Accountancy and wanted to
To tell you honestly, I was not really
good and I was not happy with what I was doing,
pero tinapos ko pa rin. Buti na lang nagfail ako sa
board exam! Buti nalang nabigo ako, kasi kung hindi,
hindi ko maaabot yung position ko ngayon. I created
my own businesses. I am working only for myself; I
control my time and what I do.
I love my freedom! This is the
greatest gift.

See failure as a gift! You’ll never know baka

I love

27
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

the quote of Tony Robbins he said “Life is not

happening to you, it is happening for you”.

Lahat ng nangyayari sayo, whether good or bad,

lahat yan ay biyaya. Accept it and appreciate it. Be
happy when it is good. Learn from it when it is bad.
Look at your life for a second, at isipin mo yung mga
masasamang nangyari sayo in the past. Bad parents,
bad environment, failed businesses, failed
relationships. You will never be this strong, or the
person you are today without those experiences.
Those experiences are all gifts.

4. The Real Failure!

Yung
mga ayaw sumubok ng bago. Yung mga ayaw mag
take ng risk. Yung mga tao na tinanggap nalang kung
ano ang meron sila. Sila yung mga tao na kahit kailan
hindi nila maaabot ang mga pangarap nila. They
already lost the battle. They accepted defeat! They
are the victims and losers of this world. Some of
28
SAAN BA AKO MAGSISIMULA

them think they are happy kasi hindi sila

nakakaranas ng failure. But for me, they are the Real
Failure! Bakit? Kasi hindi man lang nila sinubukan
maabot ang fullest potential ng buhay nila.

5. Stay Positive in spite of Failure!

Siguro nakuha ko ‘to sa dad ko. I saw a lot of

Hindi ako makapaniwala kasi I personally know

her.
siya magtrabaho and I felt betrayed kasi paano niya
‘yon nagawa?

I asked him paano’ yan, ano ang gagawin natin?

Dapat mapakulong siya, di ba? Dapat ipahanap natin

29
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Charge to
experience na lang. Importante natuto na ko na
hindi dapat magtiwala agad kahit gaano kabait yung
tao.”
Still he is positive, na parang walang nangyari.

haha!”

Stay positive friends! ‘Wag kayo panghinaan ng

loob when failure comes. Learn from your mistakes,
and move on. ‘Wag mo hayaan na mangyari uli ang
mga pagkakamali. Start over again. It is never too
late. When you start over you are not starting from

30
SAAN BA AKO MAGSISIMULA

scratch, you are starting from experience. You are

better and stronger because of your failures.

6. Learn from the Mistakes and Failures of

Other People.

This is probably the best strategy about failure.

Why not just
learn from the misktakes and failures of other
people. Hindi mo kailangang masagasaan para
matuto na tumawid sa tamang tawiran. You just
learn from other people na masasagasaan ka talaga
kapag tumawid sa doon sa maling tawiran. Gano’on
din sa buhay. You can learn from the experiences of
other people. How? Read books and watch videos of
successful people. Marami sa kanila they share their
experiences about their failures in life. And that is
the best way to learn about failure. You will save a lot
of time and heart aches if you do this strategy. You
will become stronger just by learning from the
mistakes and failures of other people.

How to Overcome the Fear of Failure?

31
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Here’s what you need to do to overcome the fear

of failure. Take Massive Actions Immediately!

Nasubukan mo na bang mag cliff-jumping? Yung

First time ko nagawa ‘yon sa Boracay, and it was

an unforgettable experience.

Grabe, first time niya rin tumalon tapos may pa-tricks
pa. Ang galing! Palakpakan kami.

At vinivideohan pa nila ako.

takot at umatras ako. Grabe yung kahihiyan ko, kalalaki
kong tao tapos takot na takot. Tawa sila nang tawa at
sumisigaw pa ng “Takot! Takot!” habang umaatras ako.
Sobrang nakakahiya talaga.

Then Boom! The best experience!

Looking back, the main reason why I became

successful really fast, and the reason I became a

33
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

millionaire at the age of 23, is because I took massive

actions immediately!

You know the secret, why I became a millionaire

so fast? Most people are afraid of failure, overthinking,
taking the safer route and planning really hard, kung
gagawin ba nila o kukunin ba nila yung opportunity na
nasa harapan nila. Ako, I just take massive actions! I
decided based on what I already know then I stick to it
and act on it really fast!

I say YES most of the time when there is a really

good opportunity. Most of the time saying YES and
taking massive actions are the right choices! Pero, alam
mo? I still failed a lot.

Because I never stop trying something new. Ilang

beses na ako na scam. Nakasali na ‘ko ng networking and
other investments pero nag fail. I started businesses na

bumalik. Umorder ako online, tapos scammer pala.

These are the consequences of taking massive

actions immediately, you will fail a lot. But the good
thing is you have a higher chance of winning!

That is the beauty of it. Failure is your friend. It

will help you grow! You will learn alot from your failures.
have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't
work.”

Pero hindi naman basta failure lang. Make sure

mo. The biggest mistake you can make is to fail without
learning from it. Sayang naman ang failure kung wala
kang matututunan.

Pero ganoon talaga eh, You cannot know it all.

Malalaman mo na lang through experience. Pero kahit
na ganon, do not be afraid of failure! Take Massive
Actions!

35
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Why?

Because that is the only way to become rich and

happy in your life! Kahit na takot ka, you need to take
massive actions towards your dreams! You need to take
a massive action in quitting the job you hate! You need
to take massive action in starting your own business!
You need to take massive action to pay for a seminar
kahit wala ka ng pera, but you know it will help you
grow! You need to take massive action to forgive your
parents or siblings na nakasakit sayo. You need to take
massive action to lose weight! You need to take massive
action to show your feelings to your long-time crush!

Kasi kung hindi, sayang! If there is a good

opportunity in front of you that will make your life
better, try it! Do it! Say YES to it! Do not be afraid simply
because of failure. Take MASSIVE ACTIONS
IMMEDIATELY!

Immediately!

36
SAAN BA AKO MAGSISIMULA

Notice I added the word “IMMEDIATELY”. Alam

mo naman na when you decide to do something, lalo na
month, o kaya next year. Maniwala ka sa akin, hindi mo
talaga yan magagawa. Walang mangyayari kung hindi
mo agad iyan gagawin ngayon. When I decide on
something, I make sure may gagawin ako ngayon! As in
Make sure kung may
magawa ngayon at least do something small, like put it
in your calendar, tell it to a friend o kahit na ano para
Take massive
actions immediately! ‘Wag mo ng hintayin pa! Aksyon
agad!

Write 3 Massive Actions you need to take

immediately:

1. ____________________________

37
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

2. ____________________________

3. ____________________________

Decide to do it today! Friends, I want you to

reach your dreams and it only takes a single Massive
Action. Do it now, do not overthink, do not be afraid. Sa
simula lang ‘yan. Once you take the leap and you are in
mid-air, hindi ka na makakabalik uli. Life will never be
the same again! Take massive actions, my friends!

Chapter 2

Change Your Identity

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life

is about creating yourself.”
- George Bernard Shaw

How to become a Rich Filipino?

“Paano ba maging mayaman?” Iyan ang tanong

nating lahat.

mayaman? Kailangan ba dapat magtrabaho sa ibang
bansa?

Marami tayong pwedeng isagot. Maraming

paraan para yumaman.

41
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Pero para sa akin, this is the simple answer.

TO BECOME RICH, you need to THINK and

ACT like a rich person!

You need to change how you think and how you

act.
makontrol.

Think like the rich! Paano ba sila mag-isip?

Paano nila tingnan ang buhay, ang pera at ang
problema?

Act like the rich! Paano ba sila gumalaw? Ano ba

ang mga habits nila? Ano ang ginawa nila kaya sila
naging mayaman?

These are the questions to answer to become

rich. If you want to become rich, think and act like a rich
person all the time! Pero paano nga ba?

42
CHANGE YOUR IDENTITY

CHANGE YOUR IDENTITY

Identity is who you are. It is how you define

yourself. The simple rule is you will always think and act
by how you define yourself.

That is the simple rule and one of the greatest

forces in the world. You will always be consistent in your
action and how you think by how you define yourself. If
you define yourself as an honest man, then kahit na ano

musician, you should always play an instrument.

At ganoon din pagdating sa pera. If you think you

are a poor person, you will always think and act like the
poor.

By changing your identity, you naturally change

your actions.

43
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

This is the first step to becoming a RICH

FILIPINO. You need to change your identity. From being
POOR to A RICH FILIPINO.

YOU WILL NEVER BECOME RICH, if you think

and act like a POOR.

A RICH FILIPINO has a particular MINDSET,

HABITS and STRATEGIES na meron sila kaya sila
mayaman.

They have the RIGHT MINDSET. They know

that they can face whatever problem that comes their
way. They can see opportunities na hindi nakikita ng
mahihirap. They can get all the resources that they need
even if wala sila. Simply because they have the right
mindset.

They have the RIGHT HABITS -, they simply do

those little things that make them successful. Those
little things na pinapabayaan ng mga mahihirap like
learning, saving, investing, and improving their work.

44
CHANGE YOUR IDENTITY

And of course, they have the RIGHT

STRATEGIES, they have a vision and they have a plan to
become successful. They learn from the experts and
from successful people, and they create their own
strategies.

What is your old Identity? Do you think and act

like the poor? Ano yung mga bagay na kailangan mo
baguhin sa sarili mo to become the rich person that you
dreamed of? What are your limiting beliefs?

My Story in Changing my Identity

You know my story; I was heavily bullied when I

was a kid because of my looks. My old identity was, I was
the lowest in the food chain. Ako ang pinakamababa sa
kanilang lahat dahil sa itsura ko. I hated myself. I was
very insecure. I had a very low esteem. I didn’t believe in
myself. That is why I never excel in anything. Di ako
matalino, I only had a few friends, I was not good at
sports, and I could not talk to anyone. At dahil doon,

45
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

feeling ko talaga alipin ako. Okay lang na maliitin nila

ako, okay lang na utus-utusan nila ako.

That was my old story.

I need to change my
Identity. Ayoko na ng ganto. I know I have potentials.
must learn to accept myself and take massive actions! So,
what did I do? I read books! Just like what you are doing.
But the book that really changed my life is “HOW TO
TALK TO ANYONE” by Liel Lowndes.

That book changed my identity. I learned to

accept my flaws, and my looks. And even though ganito
ang itsura ko, I can talk to anyone! I can make friends! I
can say what I want. I can share my thoughts! I can be
confident! I read that book multiple times one summer,
made notes and I applied everything I learned! I took
massive actions to change my identity. From being shy
to confident.

46
CHANGE YOUR IDENTITY

That’s why nung pagpasok ko sa college, no

kidding! People loved me! I made a lot of friends.
course. I also made friends with the guards and staff.
During Freshmen Orientation with over 1,000 students,
I performed on stage.
stage and people loved it. They even elected me as their
1st year representative in the Student Council! And that
was a big deal for me back then. To win that election,
nag room-to-room kaming 6 candidates, we talked in
front of every class para magpakilala and share our
platforms and I won! I became part of the Student
Council.

I became one of the top leaders of the school.

Kami ang nagmanage ng mga events, I met a lot of
people, and I learned a lot! It really boosted my self-
esteem. I also made it in the newspaper of the school.

That is the power of changing your identity!

From lowest of the food chain to the top! And I promised
myself that I will never go back to that old me.
47
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

You must understand that you are the script-

writer, the director and the actor of your life.
mong mangyari. No one else. Make the best movie of
your life! Become the best script writer, director and
actor of your life!

and actions mo in the past. If you want to change your
future, dapat baguhin mo rin yung identity mo ngayon.

How to change your Identity?

1. Be aware of your Old Identity

Become aware of your old Identity. Ano

pinaniniwalaan mo?
Siguro iniisip mo na you are not enough, kesyo
48
CHANGE YOUR IDENTITY

tamad ako, hindi ako matalino. What are your

limiting beliefs?
Become aware of your old identity, para
mabago natin.

What was your old Identity?

2. Decide your New Identity

What do you want to change? Who do

you want to become? Be clear kung ano ang
gusto mong mangyari sa buhay mo. Gusto mo
bang maging mas confident? gusto mo bang
tumigil sa bisyo? Gusto mo bang yumaman?
Decide your new Identity! Be the script-writer of
your life. You need to be clear with your identity.
This is who you are. This is the real you! What is
your New Identity?

3. Take Massive Actions to become your New

Identity.

What massive actions must you take to

become your desired new identity? Ano yung
mga dapat mong gawin today, and every single
day? Read books? Exercise? Work harder?
Decide. Take massive actions! Give 3 massive
actions that you will do as soon as possible.

CHANGE IS HARD

You

50
CHANGE YOUR IDENTITY

can decide to change your Identity! Pero hindi ito ganito

kadali. You have to be willing to change your mindset
and your habits. Etong mga mindset and habits na to ay
hard-wired na sa utak natin from years of experience
kaya mahirap na to mabago. It is very hard to change,
but it is possible.

You can never become rich if you think and act

like a poor. Kaya kahit gaano kahirap you need to change
your mindset and your habits.

RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

52
Chapter 3

Change your Mindset!

“A wise person knows what’s inside

their circle of control and what is
outside of it. It contains just one
thing: YOUR MIND.”
-Ryan Holiday

The good news is, kaya mo makontrol ang
isip mo.

Your mindset will make you or break you. Kaya

importante na you have The Right Mindset!

53
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Poor Mindset

ganitong klaseng mindset.

Check it with yourself. Baka may ganto ka pa ring

mga paniniwala. Do your best na ma-correct ang mga ito
because this will hold you back.

Ito yung mindset na pinakagusto kong

matanggal natin bilang Pilipino. Ito yung lagi kong
naririnig “Pinanganak kasi kami na mahirap, kaya
mamamatay na rin kaming mahirap.”

I know marami sa’tin pinanganak na mahirap at

seryoso, hindi madaling makaahon sa hirap dahil
nakasanayan na natin ‘to.
nating maging mahirap.

54
CHANGE YOUR MINDSET

Maraming Pilipino merong Scarcity Mindset.

May belief
sila na they will never be rich. Feeling nila hindi sila
deserving magkaroon ng kayamanan. Scarcity mindset
ang nag hohold back sayo to get those blessings. Feeling
mo hindi mo deserve maging mayaman. That’s why you
settle for less.

Ang tendency ng may scarcity mindset is they

tend to become selfish. Nagiging madamot sila kasi
feeling nila anytime pwede sila mawalan o maubusan ng
kayamanan.
mundo kaya nag-aagawan sila.

will ni Lord sa buhay nila. Will daw ni Lord maging
mahirap sila, kaya tinanggap na lang nila.

But they are wrong.

55
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

There are a lot of blessings and opportunities all

Most of us, tinanggap nalang natin na mahirap

tayo habang buhay. But the real reason kung bakit
mahirap ka is because you make EXCUSES.

“Bata pa kasi ako”

“Matanda na kasi ako”

“Nabuntis kasi ako ng maaga”

“May anak na kasi ako”

“Hindi kasi ako nakapag-aral”

“Mahiyain ako”

“Pangit kasi ako”

“May sakit kasi ako”

“Wala kasi akong talent”

56
CHANGE YOUR MINDSET

“Mataba kasi ako”

“Tamad kasi ako”

“Slow kasi ako”

“Marami kasi akong ginagawa”
“Hindi kasi ako marunong mag english”

“Yung Nanay ko kasi”

“Yung kaibigan ko kasi”

“Yung boss ko kasi”

“Yung Gobyerno kasi”

“Wala kasi akong pera”

“Wala kasi akong time”

“Wala kasi akong kaibigan”

“Wala kasi akong Cellphone o camera”

ALL OF THESE ARE JUST EXCUSES.

Ano yung

57
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

excuse na meron ka pa? You need to remove that poor

mindset right now.

tayo mahirap. Walang mangyayari kung lagi nalang
may dahilan.

Walang dahilan para hindi ka maging

mayaman. You have the power to be rich. You can
become a RICH FILIPINO

What are your excuses or poor mindset?

The ABUNDANCE Mindset!

The first step to becoming a Rich Filipino is to

remove the poor mindset and have an Abundance
Mindset, instead. Abundance Mindset is a state of mind
58
CHANGE YOUR MINDSET

believing that there are a lot of blessings and

opportunities all around. People who have Abundance
Mindset also believe that there are enough blessings and
opportunities for everyone.

Kahit nasaan ka, kahit anong environment mo,

may opportunity! Life is full of abundant blessings! At
sobra-sobra ang blessings na hindi ka mawawalan. They
know where to look for blessings kahit na ano pa ang
environment nila. They make a way to get those
blessings. Pero alam pa rin nila na they still need to take
action to have those blessings.

With this kind of mindset: Hindi sila madamot,

they love to give kasi hindi naman sila mauubusan. They
love to help other people. Abundance mindset gives you
the power to be positive and happy. All the resources you
need to be successful are around you.

Stop making excuses. Stop thinking na

mawawalan ka. Have an abundance mindset, this will
make you free.

59
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Tumingin ka sa paligid mo. All the things that

you need is within you. Hindi mo kailangan maghanap
ng wala. Kompleto ka na. Start here, start now.

3 Steps to Have an Abundance Mindset

STEP 1: Claim It!

Claim that you have an Abundance Mindset. I

learned a technique called “Affirmation”. Sinasabi dito
yung gusto mong mangyari, yung gusto mong makuha,
and declare kung ano ang gusto mong paniwalaan.

You can trick your brain to believe in something

kahit na akala mo imposible. Kapag pinaulit-ulit mo ang
isang idea or thought sa utak mo mangyayari to sa
reality.

Do some affirmation to trick your brain to

believe in something na magbebenefit sa buhay mo. Do
this every morning, and every time you feel down, you
feel like a loser, or you feel like a victim.
Here are some of my own affirmations na
60
CHANGE YOUR MINDSET

ginagawa ko to make me feel better and every time after

ko gawin ito, I really feel awesome!

I do this many times nang paulit ulit! I say this to

myself every time with conviction. I say this with power,
at minsan may action pa. This really helped me become
powerful and be the awesome person that I am.

I encourage you to do some affirmation yourself.

But the point is pwede kang mag
you will choose to. Believe in yourself. You are powerful
beyond measure!

I am powerful beyond measure!

I am great
I am confident
I am good.
I am loving and Kind
I am awesome!
All that I need is within me
All the strength that I need is within me

61
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

All the love I need is within me.

All the joy I need is within me.

I am powerful, I am bold, I am awesome!

I am Creative! I am Fun!
People are happy to see me
People want to be with me

Lord,
Thank you for my life,
Thank you for my family
Thank you for my strength
Today is gonna be an awesome day
Today is gonna be the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!

AND NOBODY CAN STOP ME!

STEP 2: Take Control of Your Life!

Mindset of the Rich: You and only you control

your life. You cannot blame other people sa mali sa
buhay mo. You have the remote control of your life. Stop
62
CHANGE YOUR MINDSET

letting other people control you. Stop letting the

government control you. Stop letting your boss control
you.
You feel miserable, weak and poor, because you
let others control your emotions. Stop it. Take control of
your life.

● Stop blaming others

Stop blaming your parents kasi pinanganak kang

mahirap, stop blaming the government kasi
hindi sila tumutulong sa mahirap. Stop blaming
your boss because you have a miserable life. Stop
blaming other people kasi nahihirapan ka o nag
dudusa ka. It is not their fault. It is never their
fault.

● Take accountability for all the mistakes and

faults in your life.

You and only you are responsible for everything

that is happening to you. Kung mataba ka, it is
because you choose to eat unhealthy food and
63
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

you don’t exercise. You are fat because of you and

not because of other people. You are poor
because of you, and not because of other people.
Kung naghihirap ang pamilya mo, it is your fault.
Kung mahirap ka ngayon, it is your fault. Stop
blaming others for the mistakes and faults in
your life.

Why?

If you blame other people, anong
mangyayari? Macocontrol mo ba ang gagawin
nila? You cannot control anybody. The only
thing that you can control is yourself, so stop
wasting your energy blaming other people.

Claim it
and focus on what you can do para maayos ang
pagkakamali.

64
CHANGE YOUR MINDSET

If you control your life, nothing can break you

down.

Decide today, that you and only you are

responsible for your life, kung magiging
successful ka or hindi, It's up to you. Choose to
be successful.

Think like a Rich Filipino, act like a Rich Filipino!

STEP 3: Hang-out with other abundant thinkers

Surround yourself with other abundant thinkers. They

are the greatest people to be with. They enjoy life, they
are positive, they are generous and they are rich. The
more time you hang-out with them, the more chance
that you will also have an Abundance Mindset.

If you surround yourself with the poor, you will

also become poor. So, surround yourself with the rich,
so that you will become rich.

I know sometimes, mahirap lumapit sa ibang

abundant thinkers, because they are out of reach

65
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

and/or they are also busy with their life. So what I do is,
I spend time with them virtually. I listen to their
podcasts or interviews on Youtube. And I also follow
them on social media. In this way, I am learning more
about them and how they think. And over time,
maaadapt mo rin kung paano sila mag isip and you will
also have an Abundance Mindset.

Beginner’s Mindset

Rich Filipinos have Beginner’s Mindset. They

love to learn new things! Kung mapapansin mo kung
sino pa yung mayaman, sila pa yung mas nagbabasa ng
mga self-help and business books. Why? Because they
love to learn! Alam nila sa sarili nila for them to grow,
they have to learn new things.

Dapat laging merong mindset ng parang

beginner. Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you do not
know the answer. Do not be afraid to ask for help kung

66
CHANGE YOUR MINDSET

hindi mo na kaya. Have a Beginner’s Mindset and

continue to learn new things.

Personally, I love reading books! Maraming

At
my skills and learn new things.

I also ask questions alot! If I do not know

something, I ask questions. I ask for help. Early in life
narealize ko na I cannot be successful alone. Get help
as much as you can. You don’t have to do everything.

PAIN CAN MAKE YOU CHANGE!

My success journey was not a smooth ride.

There was a point in my life that I had a very bad
decision about debt. Umutang ako ng P3,800,000 for
my business that requires me to pay P158,000 per
month for 2 years.

67
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

When I first made this decision akala ko kaya

ko because our business was booming at that time.

But I was wrong! Hindi pala laging malakas ang

business.

Every month I was scrambling for money just to

pay the P158,000 debt every month! All my money, all
my savings, all my income, lahat napupunta for that
horrible deal. I even sold some of my personal things
para lang makabayad ako ng utang.

It made my life miserable because I cannot

afford to buy anything.

I can't eat outside, I can’t buy new things, I can't

contribute para sa expenses sa bahay, I can’t buy gifts if
ever my occasion, I can't even date my girlfriend!

One day, I was driving with my girlfriend, and

she knew that we could not afford to eat outside for
many months because of my debt.

68
CHANGE YOUR MINDSET

But this time, she told me… “I am craving for

Iced Coffee ng Mcdo! Tara drive-thru tayo!”

Then I cried… I cried so hard… kasi I can't even

buy her an Iced Coffee that is worth 50 pesos! I didn’t
have any money in my wallet. I felt sorry for myself. I
felt sorry for her kasi hindi ko maibigay ang gusto niya.
I felt embarrassed kasi kahit 50 pesos lang wala ako.

I promised her na hindi na mauulit to. I

And I will do anything para makaahon kami sa utang
na to.

Pain can make you change.

If you are struggling, if you are having a hard

time. I want you to feel it. I want you to feel the pain
until the button is pushed. When you can say…

That is enough! I cannot take it anymore!

Today I will change.

69
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Today I will do anything and everything to get

out of this mess!

I want to change right now!

I want to become successful!

I want to become RICH!

I do not want to feel that ever again!

“When you want to succeed as bad as

you want to breathe then you will be
successful.”
- Eric Thomas

71
Chapter 4

Must-Have Values to
Become a Rich Filipino

“If you don’t stick to your values

when they are being tested, they’re
not values, they’re hobbies.”
- Job Stewart

BE CONFIDENT

Confidence is a requirement for you to be

successful. I don’t think magiging successful ka without
confidence. Para sakin, confidence means accepting
and believing in yourself 100% and you are ready to
show yourself to the world without giving a damn what
they think.

73
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Being confident is power. People love confident

people. They are the leaders and people love to follow
them. They have the greatest self-love, that is why they
can give love to others fully. Confident people are
unstoppable, they know what they want and they get it.

If you really want to be a Rich Filipino you have

to be confident. You have to train yourself to be
confident. You need to believe in yourself 100%. You
need to embrace who you are, even your flaws. And do
not be afraid to show yourself to the world.

How to become confident?

Dati akala ko yung confidence ko manggagaling

sa ibang tao. Kapag may nanonood sa akin, mas
ginagalingan ko. Kapag may pumapalakpak mas
tumataas ang confidence ko. Kapag may sumusuporta
mas lalo akong ginaganahan. But this is a wrong kind of
thinking, confidence does not come from other people.
Oo masarap may pumapalakpak sayo at may nanonood
ng mga magagandang ginawa mo. But this is a very
74
MUST HAVE VALUES TO BECOME A RICH FILIPINO

shallow confidence.

You should know that this is your own battle. If you let
others hold your confidence at sila mag de-decide, then
you are doomed. Walang mangyayari sa iyo. You will not
perform well kung walang nanonood. You will not give
your best kung walang pumapalakpak. And what if
people hate you, bash you on social media? Can you
handle it? Will you still work hard to achieve your goal
even if people will not believe in you? Confidence must
not come from other people.

Confidence comes from having integrity. It

means doing what you say you are going to do. When
you say something you are going to do, do it. Even if no
one is looking. You are not doing it for them, you are
doing it for you. Doon manggagaling ang confidence mo.

How will you believe in yourself kung sabi ka

nang sabi pero hindi mo naman ginagawa?

A lot of people lose their confidence because

they are saying something and end up not doing it. Ilang

75
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

sarili mong project, sariling business, sariling video, o
sinisimulan?

The more you say something at hindi mo

ginagawa, the more you lose your confidence.

That is confidence. When you know kaya mong

pagkatiwalaan at asahan ang sarili mo. You will become
76
MUST HAVE VALUES TO BECOME A RICH FILIPINO

unstoppable. You will have confidence. When you are

confident, you can do anything.
tanong kaya mong sagutin. Lahat ng mahirap, kaya
mong gawin. Simply because you are confident. Be
confident and realize that you have the power to become
a Rich Filipino!

BE ENERGETIC!

Energy is Everything! Kung wala kang energy

wala kang magagawa sa buhay mo. Not just financially
but in all aspects of your life, energy is everything.

Energy is the most important resource you have.

Mas importante ang Energy Management kesa sa Time
Management. You cannot do anything without energy.

77
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

ka namang energy to do all your job, wala ka rin talagang

magagawa.

Most of us don’t see energy as important kaya

napapabayaan natin to. The main reason why you can’t
start your own business, or you have a poor relationship
with your special someone, or you are fat is because you
have low energy.

If you have the high energy or what Tony

Robbins calls “Peak State” you will become unstoppable.
You can do anything.

Successful people have high energy. They have

the energy like nobody else. They work their butts off to
get what they want. They are unstoppable. They are the
happiest people. They have the greatest relationships.
They love people and people love them back. Simply
because they have high energy.

If you want to become a Rich Filipino you need

to increase your energy to 10 on a consistent basis. That
is why you need to take care of your energy. And the

78
MUST HAVE VALUES TO BECOME A RICH FILIPINO

simplest way to increase your energy is by choosing to

become energetic.

Be energetic! I want you to stand for a second

and be energetic. What is your posture if you have high
energy? How will you stand? How will you talk to
people? How will you do your work? Do it for a second.
Act like an energetic person then you will have high
energy.

Keep on choosing to become energetic kahit na

minsan boring, tinatamad, o malungkot ka. You can
change your state in a heartbeat. Kahit na ano pa ang
kalagayan mo choose to be energetic. If you are
energetic, most certainty you will be happier, more
successful, have great relationships and a great body.
Not to mention even richer. Be energetic and become a
Rich Filipino!

79
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

5 Second Rule

I heard a strategy called the 5 Second Rule. This

rule will simply push you to do anything even if you
don’t feel like doing it.

So what you will do is:
Count 5 to 1, and think like you are a Rocket Ship that is
getting ready to launch. So count: 5…. 4….. 3….. 2….. 1……
Blast-off! Then stand up, Go to the CR, Maligo ka,
magbihis ka at pumasok ka. Without thinking about
anything but your goal.

This strategy will push you to greatness. You can

do this in any scenario. Bago mag present sa maraming
tao, bago ka mag job interview, bago ka
makipagkaibigan sa tao na hindi mo kilala. If you feel
fear, worry, or self-doubt on something you want to do,
Do the 5 Second rule and you can do anything.

80
MUST HAVE VALUES TO BECOME A RICH FILIPINO

BE AGGRESSIVE

we are very hospitable. We are submissive and we always
want to serve other people. That is why foreigners wants
to hire us, isa tayo sa mga pinakamarami mag produce
ng domestic helpers and nurses sa ibang bansa.

Pero minsan etong trait na to is also our greatest

weakness. Dahil nawawala ang aggressiveness natin. It is
accustomed to us na dapat hospitable lang tayo, servant
Nawawala
ang boses natin. Nawawala yung kalayaan nating mag-
isip at gawin ang gusto nating gawin.

Kung gusto mo talaga maging mayaman at

maging isang Rich Filipino, you need to become
aggressive. Aggressiveness is not a bad thing as long as
you can control it. Lahat ng mga successful na tao sa
mundo ay aggressive. They are clear in what they want
and they go after it whatever it takes.

81
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Become aggressive in what you want in life!

There is nothing wrong with that. Take some risks. Be
clear with what you want in life. Gusto mong maging
boss? Gusto mong magsimula ng business? Gusto mong
abutin ang pangarap mo? Go for it! No one is stopping
you. Choose to become aggressive.

BECOME A PROBLEM KILLER

Become a Problem Killer! I know it sounds bad.

Pero, think about it…

"If you don't kill your problem, the problem will

kill you."

If you hold a pen for 10 minutes, kayang-kaya ‘di

for 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, or 1 year? Kahit gaano kagaan

82
MUST HAVE VALUES TO BECOME A RICH FILIPINO

Ganoon din sa problema, kahit gaano kaliit,

kung papabayaan mo lang, eventually mahihirapan ka
din kung hindi mo aayusin.

One of the qualities of Rich Filipinos is that they

are Problem Killers. They solve problems. They give
solutions. Hence, they kill problems. If you really want
to be successful you need to kill your problems too.

ibang tao. Lahat tayo ay may problema kahit na
mayaman ka man o mahirap. We all have different kinds
Tara sabay nating
patayin ang mga problema na kinakaharap natin.

Here are few lessons na natutunan ko about

problems.

1. Don't ignore problems

83
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Kahit gaano kaliit ang problema mo, as much as

2. Don't make problems complex

Life is simple, don't make it complicated.

Marami sa’tin ginagawang komplikado ang problema, it
is just a problem and every problem has a solution.

3. Problems are not permanent

Temporary lang ang problema, matatapos din

ang problema mo next week, next month o kaya ngayon
na! If you decide to do something about it today.

4. There are only 3 major problems in your life:

About Health, about Relationships, and about

Money. We will talk more about this in the last chapter.

5. The best cure for any problem is PREVENTION

84
MUST HAVE VALUES TO BECOME A RICH FILIPINO

Wag mo nang hintayin ang problema; prevent it

from happening.

Example:

Health- Eat healthy and exercise everyday

Relationships - Be loving and spend quality time

more with your loved ones.

Money - Increase your Financial Education.

Learn to invest.

6. There is nothing new under the sun!

You think your problem is unique? No, it is not.

Learn from the people who overcame the same problems
you have.

7. If you think your problem is big, think again!

Mas maraming tao na mas nahihirapan keysa

sayo ngayon. Marami ang gustong maabot ang
kalagayan mo ngayon.

85
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

8. You can always ask for help.

Remember, you are not alone.

BECOME MORE VALUABLE

Eto, sa totoo lang, the reason why you are not rich is
because you are not valuable enough in the market.

Just look at the skill of a janitor. Maliit lang ang

kinikita nila kasi maraming tao ang kaya maglinis. The
market doesn't see their skills as valuable.

Now look at the skills of a doctor, an engineer or

They are more valuable

Now look at the successful business owners.

They provide jobs, and they
have a product or service that helps or entertains people.

86
MUST HAVE VALUES TO BECOME A RICH FILIPINO

So the conclusion is, to become rich you need to

become more valuable. That is really the answer. The
more valuable you are, the more value you give to
people, the more money you make. Make yourself
valuable enough so that people will be willing to pay you
because they need your service.

How to become valuable? You need to increase

your skills, become the master of what you do and you
need to give more value to other people. We will talk
more about these in further chapters.

Chapter 5

Your Bread and Butter

“Choose a job you love, and you will

never have to work a day in your life.”
-Confucius

2 Types of Income

Eto ang iyong bread and butter.

89
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

This type of income does not require you to work long

hours.

To become Rich, kailangan mo maimprove ang

income.

Your Bread and Butter

income mo. Your bread and butter is your active income.
Active income requires your time, skills, and energy to
gain money.

You and only you can decide kung saan ka

magtatrabaho at kung ano ang gagawin mo. It is your
choice kung gusto mong maging entrepreneur, doktor,
90
YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER

engineer, architect, lawyer, salesman, teacher, speaker o

content creator.

Now for choosing our bread and butter may

dalawang bagay ka na dapat laging icoconsider.

1. Passion

Make sure that you love what you do.

ginagawa mo and you are happy to work kahit
gaano katagal.

Why am I saying this? There is no

amount of money na makakapalit sa happiness
mo. It is important na masaya ka sa trabaho mo
because this is the first step para magimprove sa
work and to earn more. How will you work better
kung di ka masaya sa ginagawa mo? How will
you dominate your career kung napipilitan ka
lang, at pera lang ang habol mo? You are
spending most of your adult life sa trabaho mo,

91
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

tapos hindi ka masaya? You are just wasting your

life kung ganon.

Now I am not saying magquit sa trabaho

mo ngayon. What I am saying is you just need to
be happy sa ginagawa mo. If you can’t quit, then
at least make your work as fun as possible. Mas
importante ang happiness mo kesa sa pera. Don’t
waste your life working para sa bagay na hindi
nagbibigay sa’yo ng saya.

You are alive. You need to live! And

working without happiness and purpose is not
living.
Work with passion, live with passion!

2. Money

Consider the money in your chosen

career. Kung naghahanap ka ng career, this is
what I suggest:

92
YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER

Hanapin mo muna yung

pinakasuccessful na tao sa chosen career mo.
How much kaya yung income niya? Kumusta
kaya yung lifestyle niya? If you like what you see,
then you are in a good path.

kaso hindi mo nagustuhan yung income and
lifestyle nya, maybe this career is not for you.
Look for another career.

Anong ang Bread and butter mo? Decide

kung ano ang gagawin mo for the rest of your life.
You and only you can answer this, no one else
can. Basta as I said, consider your passion and
the money. Having one but not the other will just
lead to destruction.

Kung ang Bread and butter mo ay

Passion lang, pero walang pera… You will just be
poor.
You will just be

93
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

miserable. Pick a Bread and butter that has your

passion and money.

Once malaman mo na ang Bread and

Butter mo then CONGRATULATIONS! You
may proceed! I will teach you how you can earn
more on your chosen Bread and butter!

Let’s go!

4 Steps to Perfect Your Bread and Butter

Step #1: Be Proud of your Craft!

I’ve read a story about a janitor in a big firm. This

janitor earns a minimum wage, pero nung nagsimula
siya sa trabaho niya, you will not believe kung ano ang
ginawa nya.

The janitor loves his job so much and he takes

pride in what he does. He is also funny. He calls himself
the Director of Floor Management, and even made a

94
YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER

name tag that has his name and position na nakalagay sa

left chest nya. And everytime na may papasok sa CR at
nandoon siya naglilinis, ang sasabihin nya with pride,
“Welcome to my office!” People love his humor. One
day, an Executive Board member pumasok ng CR at nag
mamadali and biglang may sumigaw na “Welcome to my
Office!” He looked at the janitor and laughed so hard. He
loved his enthusiasm so the next day he gave him a raise!
He is still the Director of Floor Management, with three
times the salary of a regular janitor.

Be proud of your craft! People will not believe in

you if you do not believe in yourself. The moment you
know your value and the value of what you do, you will
never settle for less. You know your worth. You do not
try to please others, you just believe in yourself. And
people love those who have confidence about their job.
If you value yourself, people will value you too.

Be proud of your craft! Know your value.

95
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Step #2: Master Your Craft!

Most people are mediocre in what they do. Basta

magawa yung trabaho okay na yan. Basta pumasok okay
na ‘yan. They don’t strive for greatness.

How will you earn more if you are mediocre?

Do you expect people to pay you more for being

average? Do you expect people will see and recognize
your average work?

I don’t think so. Kung average ka, they can find

someone like you anytime of the day.

To earn more, you need to become the Master

of your Craft! The best in the world in your chosen
career! The expert that dominates your industry!

I want you to be the kind of person that people

will look up to, kahit na anong trabaho pa yan. Either
You can
become the best person for the job if you choose to.

96
YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER

What happens if you become the Master of

Your Craft?

People will look for you!

When we want something, we want to hire the

best person for the job. We are looking for the person
who can efficiently and effectively do the job they need.
Especially those big corporations. If you are the best in
what you do, imposibleng mawalan ka ng trabaho.

You will earn more!

Dahil ikaw ang the best in what you do, of

course people will be willing to pay for an excellent job!

Now here's the secret…

Let me give you an example…

97
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

In horse racing, the champion horse gets all the

awards, all the recognition, and the 1 million pesos while
the other horses get nothing!

Does it mean, hindi mabibilis ang ibang mga

kabayo? Nope, the champion only beats second best by
0.1 second! Mabilis din sila, but the champion has a
little edge and got all the awards!

Look at the person na pinakamagaling sa

chosen industry mo.

To beat that guy, you just need to do what he

does, then have a little edge!

How to Become the Master of Your Craft?

1. Read

You need to learn as much as possible in

your chosen career. Reading is maybe the best
way to learn. I changed my life because of

98
YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER

reading a lot of books about self-help, business,

and investing, that is why I became rich!

Reading makes you learn from the

experiences of others ng mas mabilis na oras.
Hindi mo kailangan mabangga ng kotse para
matuto na ‘wag tumawid sa highway. You just
learned from the experience of other people na
nabangga dahil tumawid sila sa highway.

Watching Youtube videos to improve

your skills is also an effective way to learn! And
the best part is.... it is FREE!

2. Small things matter

Improve one small thing at time. No need

to rush. Focus on what you can do. Small steps
are better than none. Do not underestimate what
you can do today, it will affect your future. Start
small! Improve your craft.

3. Model the Great

99
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Success leaves clues. The best thing you

can do to become the master is to model the
Great. Look at the person you want to be, then
do what he does. Ano ang ginagawa nya araw-
araw. Paano siya naging successful. Then just
copy it!

Step #3: Serve more People!

If you know your job is valuable, you are the

master of your craft, you are proud of your craft and you
value yourself. Then the next thing, is to serve more
people!
Huwag ka lang magstay sa isang kumpanya.
Huwag ka lang magserve sa konting client. Huwag ka
lang magstay sa sarili mong lugar.

You need to expand! Go global! Go online! Serve

more people with your product or service!

Always think of ways to scale up! Meaning you

have to think of ways to serve more people.
100
YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER

Need ba ng marketing?

Need ba mag hire ng tao?

Need ba mag outsource?

Pwede ka bang mag franchising?

Pwede ka bang humanap ng investors?

To earn more, you need to expand, and to

expand you need to serve more people!

Our business grew exponentially when we

opened it for franchising. We built a milk tea shop and a
fried chicken shop and currently we are now more than
60 stores nationwide and counting. And our main goal
is to just serve more people with our products, kaya
naabot namin ang ganto.

To earn more, you need to think of ways to serve

more people. The more you serve, the more you will
earn.

101
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Step #4: Put a High Price on Yourself!

Now I need to tell you this.

Don’t be afraid to have a higher price than your

competitors. Hindi ito pamurahan ng produkto o ng
serbisyo. Hindi porque mura ka, panalo ka na.

Pagandahan ito ng serbisyo. Pagandahan ito ng

produkto. Pagandahan ito ng customer experience.

Just look at Starbucks! People LOVE Starbucks!

They are willing to pay 3 - 5 times more for a coffee they
can also make at home. Why?

Because we are not only paying for the good

coffee they make.

But also, for the experience.

Kapag pumunta ka sa Starbucks sasalubungin ka

ng nakangiting security guard at magbubukas ng pinto
para sa’yo. Pagpasok pa lang sa magandang ambiance,
maaamoy mo na yung distinct coffee beans. The baristas

102
YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER

will greet you warmly. The cashier register will take your
order with sincerity. Then, they will serve you your
freshly made drink with pride.

That’s the experience people are buying for. That

is why they can increase their price.

Do not be afraid to increase your price, lalo na

Since you have mastered your craft and you take

pride of your craft nararapat lamang na mas mataas ang
price mo kesa sa competitors mo. Focus on the value you
give, not the price.

home service.

She has a small body with the strength of a

bodybuilder.

Pag nagpamasahe ka, parang madudurog ang

katawan mo sa lakas.

103
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

But some people love it! They feel relaxed, at

tanggal daw lahat ng lamig sa katawan!

At dahil doon, lagi siyang fully booked dahil sa

dami ng recommendations! The standard price of a
massage is 200 to 500 pesos per hour. Pero si Ate
inggay ang price niya is P1,000 per hour! Times 5
kumpara sa ibang masahista! Hindi pa kasama yung tip!

Imagine kung gaano kalaki ang kinikita niya

araw-araw.

Since wala siyang boss at wala siyang pwesto,

per day. That is P5,000 per day. It means P150,000 per
month. P1,800,000 per Year! Hindi na masama di ba sa
limang oras na trabaho kada araw? She earns more than
those with a diploma and sit in a nice office. All she did
was:

● Take pride of her craft

104
YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER

● Master her craft

● Serve more people through recommendations

● Put a high price on herself.

Start doing these things and soon you will earn

money like Ate Inggay.

BECOME THE OWNER!

Becoming the owner doesn’t mean you start your

own business so that you can become the owner.

Becoming the Owner is a mindset!

It means to take care of the business as if it is

yours. It means to take control of what you can control
and add value to the company more than anyone. Don’t
just do kung ano yung expected na dapat mong gawin.
DO MORE! Do Better! Over-deliver! Do something that
will make your company love you! Give more value to

105
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

the company and its clients. Do something that will help

the company as a whole, it doesn't matter if you are just
an employee. Do it as if you are the owner!

Chapter 6

Become an Entrepreneur!

“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a

door.”
- Milton Berle

HOW I BECAME AN ENTREPRENEUR

My parents have always encouraged us to

become entrepreneurs since we were children.

Lagi nilang kinukuwento samin kung gaano

kahirap maging isang empleyado. Kahit na ano pa ang
gawin nila, they were always broke. Ang tatay ko ay
dating security guard, waiter, at truck driver.

They were employees and never felt financial

freedom until they started their own business.

mahirap maging isang empleyado at entrepreneur. Kaya
pang maging mayaman.”

Nung bata pa kami lagi kami naglalaro ng family

ko ng Monopoly at Cashflow Kids! Laro ito na nagtuturo
ng financial education para sa mga bata. Sa laro na ito,
they will teach you strategies paano maging mayaman:
How to save, how to start a business, how to invest in
real estate and stocks. At syempre panalo kung sino ang
maging pinakamayaman.

I had fun playing these games. Yes, laro lang to,

pero they planted a seed in us to become an
entrepreneur.

110
BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR

“The poor works for money, the rich let their

money work for them.”

That is why I never worked a day for anybody

else, kasi alam kong walang nagiging mayaman na
empleyado.

I only worked once when it was required during

college, they require us to have three months of OJT (On
the Job Training). Working for free in a company so that
we can experience the real job. I took up Accountancy
and I worked in an Accounting Firm for 3 months.

Honestly, those days were like hell. I can’t

imagine my life working for other people for 8 hours
everyday, and commuting for at least 3 hours a day. With
this kind of work load, I do not have time for myself or
my loved ones. I hate every second of it.

111
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Since bata pa lang ako I knew I never wanted to

become an employee, kahit gaano pa kataas ang sahod.
And so, whatever happens dapat gumawa ako ng sarili
kong business.
I am the owner!

My First Business

is called Giftshopped.
Nakakatuwa dahil

yun. Nakakatuwa dahil nakakatulong din kami sa mga
mas bata samin na matutong sumayaw at
112
BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR

makapagperform sa stage. Sa murang edad, nagagawa na

naming mag set up ng dance concert sa Robinsons Mall.
And at the same time naging profitable din ang summer
naming magkakapatid.

Entrepreneurship is Hard!

Mahirap magsimula ng business from scratch.

95% of businesses fail in the first 5 years. It is very hard
to start a business and It is twice as hard to manage and
make it profitable.

It is hard to think of a business na gusto ng tao.

It is hard to create a business. It is hard to hire and train
people. You also need skills in marketing and sales,
accounting for tax, apply for government
documentations and energy to oversee the operation.
113
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

You can learn those things or you can hire people to do

It is hard work lalo na kung ikaw lang mag-
isa at nagsisimula ka pa lang.

Now, I am not discouraging you to become an

entrepreneur, but if you really want it, you have to be
prepared to fail, and fail, and fail again, because the
greatest skill na meron ang isang Entrepreneur is this:
They have the resilience. Kahit na ilang beses sila
magfail, they will learn from it, and keep on trying, until
they become successful.

3 Skills you need to develop to become an

Entrepreneur

1. BE RESILIENT

One of the reasons why many people fail is

because they lack resilience. We are living in a soft

114
BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR

generation. Napakasensitive ng mga tao ngayon.

Konting hirap, susuko na agad. Konting disagreement,
malungkot na agad. Konting disappointment, quit na
agad. Ang dali natin sumuko kung hindi mangyayari
yung gusto natin.

To become a successful entrepreneur, you need

to become resilient.

Resilience is the ability to withstand adversity

and bounce back from difficult life events. Kahit na
mahirap, kahit na masakit, at kahit na parang imposible,
you should never give up. Become resilient, be tough, be
strong!

You know, there is no failure if you do not quit.

matalino and learn when to quit. Hindi sa lahat ng
pagkakataon, hindi ka maggi-give up for the sake of not
giving up.

115
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Remember, be committed to your goal but be

flexible to the process. Ibig sabihin, dapat kahit anong
mangyari, become committed to your goal in becoming
a Rich Filipino.
stick with one business, or one job.

You can quit anytime if you know in yourself na

you will never reach your goal with your current job or
business. Heck you can have many jobs or businesses at
the same time. It doesn’t really matter kung anong
process ang piliin mo. As long as you stay committed to
your goal. Never stop trying to become a Rich Filipino.
Become resilient!

2. BE RESOURCEFUL

If I will ask you, “Bakit hindi ka pa rin

mayaman?”, what would be your answer?

Most people will say, “wala kasi akong pera pang

kapital”, “wala kasi akong oras”, “wala kasi akong team
na tutulong sakin”, “wala kasi akong magandang
camera” “wala kasi akong kilalang supplier na mura”
116
BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR

What can you notice? All of those are resources.

Money, time, people, supplies, all are resources. For
most people, the reason why they are not rich is because
of lack of resources.

But is it true?

Ilang kwento na ba napakinggan mo about the

lack of money, galing sa hirap, pero they found a way to
become rich?

Ilang kwento na ba napakinggan about lack of

time, a single mother of 3 kids, but still found a way to
become rich?

So, what can you do to get those resources if you

don't have them?

You need to become resourceful!

Resourceful means the ability to find and use

different ways to help achieve your goals. If you are
resourceful, kahit na wala kang resources, you will look
for other ways to achieve your goals. Kasi kadalasan

117
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

naman laging may kulang, lahat naman tayo

nakakaranas ng lack of resources. But the people who
succeed are the people who are the most resourceful.

So, the real reason why you are not rich is not
because you lack resources, but because you lack
resourcefulness.

If you are resourceful, you can still create your

own business, kahit na wala kang pera, kahit na wala
kang oras, kahit na walang naniniwala sayo. You can find
a way to start your own business by being resourceful.

If you are resourceful, kahit na anong problema

ang dumating sayo, you can still find a way to solve
them.

If you are resourceful, you can find ways to reach

your dreams and become a rich Filipino kahit na ano pa
ang kalagayan mo.

Ganito ang ginawa ko when I started League of

Gamers. It is a company that provides rental of PS4
Games.

118
BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR

So ang ginawa

ko, I downloaded pictures of PS4 Games sa internet, I
created a website, and posted it on a Facebook group of
PS4 Gamers. Sabi ko I have these games (kahit wala
naman talaga) at pwede n’yong hiramin for a month and
a lot of people have signed up. On the 1st month pa lang
I had 500 members with a membership fee of P1,000 to
P2,500 plus monthly fee of P500. Kung ano yung gusto
nilang game na rentahan, iyon lang ang binili ko and I
used their money to buy the games pero ako pa rin may-

Right now, our company is still growing and we

provide rental of PS4 and PS5 games to thousands of
gamers per month. We now have thousands of games
and we started it with zero money!

Don’t let lack of resources hinder you to reach

your dreams. Walang imposible if you are resourceful!

That is what you call pre-selling! Ginagawa ito ng

mga condominium. Kahit na hindi pa talaga nakatayo

119
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

yung Condo. They are already selling the units. Papakita

lang nila yung picture at location, people will buy it for
a discounted price, then they will just use their money
to build the building.

Don’t let the lack of resources hinder you to get

what you want. You need to become resourceful. If you
are resourceful, nothing is impossible!

3. COPY OTHERS

Let’s get this out of the way. Hindi masamang

mangopya.

cheating. Cheating means an act of dishonesty or
unfairly in order to gain advantage, sabi ni Merriam-
Webster. But in copying, you are not acting dishonestly
or unfairly.

Most of us went to school for 20 years or more

during the early stage of our lives, kaya matibay ang

120
BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR

paniniwala natin na masama ang mangopya. Copying

means cheating for us. That is why many of us do not
utilize this power. The Power of Copying.
Now, I don’t really have to say this but I must. Of course,
you cannot copy trade names, patents and copyrights!
Bawal ‘yon! Huwag kopyahin ang mga bawal. You can
copy a lot of things, pero wag naman yung pangalan at
logo nila ‘di ba? Be authentic. Show the originality in
your business.

Alam mo, kaya maraming hindi makapagstart ng

sarili nilang business, dahil akala nila they need to start
from scratch. Akala nila kailangan nilang mag-isip o
mag-invent ng new product, or new service na sila lang
ang makakagawa. But it is impossible to create a
business without competitors.

121
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Kung nag-iisip ka ng business na walang

competition ibig sabihin it is not a profitable business,
kasi walang may kailangan ng produkto o serbisyo mo.

Competition is essential because it makes our

product or service better over time.

Just look at Nokia, Motorola, and Blackberry. Sila

yung sikat noon pagdating sa cellphone. But where are
they now?

Yung mga cellphone ngayon, they never stop in

making their products better than their competitors.
Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Vivo, Xiaomi, Oppo. Halos
All they really do is
copy their competitors and make their products better.
Because that is really the game. That is the secret to
wealth.

122
BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR

You don’t really need to be smart or become an

inventor. You can just copy someone else and make your
product better. If you apply this simple strategy your life
will be easier.

Basta ito ang siguraduhin mo. If ever

mangongopya ka, galingan mo na at mas pagandahin mo
pa. Siguraduhin mo mas maganda yung gawa mo. O kaya
mas maganda yung serbisyo mo.

Nakakahiya naman kung mangongopya ka na

nga lang, pangit pa. Parang yung mga sapatos sa
bangketa. ‘Di ba ang daming fake. Ginagaya nila yung
masira.

Okay lang mangopya basta gagalingan mo. Learn

from other businesses. Huwag kang matakot na kumuha
ng mga ideya sa kanila. Do some research. Become their
customers.

competitors nila. Bakit kaya?
123
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

I think it is because of their ego at ayan ang

dahilan kung bakit they are still small and will never
become a successful entrepreneur. Tingin nila na mas
maganda at mas masarap ang produkto nila, kaya bakit
sila bibili sa iba?

If you really want to become a successful

entrepreneur, you have to be aware of your competitors.
gaano kasarap o kaganda ang produkto nila, and you
need to beat them. Make your product even better.
Gayahin mo ang pwedeng gayahin, at pagandahin o
pasarapin mo pa lalo.

Actually, there is a term in the business world

about this strategy it is called “BENCHMARKING”.
Benchmarking simply means to get new information or
ideas from your competitors and compare it to your
product or service.

Apply the power of copying in your business,

and you will have a better chance of becoming a
successful entrepreneur.

Chapter 7

Build a Money Farm!

“The best time to plant a tree was 20

years ago. The second-best time is
now.”

farming. Ang farming ay ang pagtatanim ng prutas,
gulay, o palay and after some time, tutubo ito at lalago.

napakaraming manga. Pero hindi ito basta-basta. It
takes

127
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

time and patience. And when the time comes, unlimited

mangoes for you and your family and for other people
that you want to give in your life!

Magtatanim ka ng pera, and after some time, lalago ito
at dadami ang iyong pera.

Money farm is an asset or an investment vehicle

that will give you money even if you are not working.
The bigger the Farm, the Bigger the money.

To become a Rich Filipino, you need to build a

big money farm. A money farm will make you money
kahit na hindi ka nagtatrabaho.

MONEY FARM is PASSIVE INCOME

There are 2 types of Income: Active Income &

Passive Income.

128
BUILD A MONEY FARM

1. Active Income ay yung income na kailangan

mong magtrabaho para kumita. Nagcoconsume
ito ng oras, lakas at skills mo. Eto ang iyong
bread and butter na pinag-usapan natin last
chapter. At dito rin manggagaling ang pera mo
para makabuo ka ng money farm.

According to Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad Poor

Dad, you are considered Financially Free kung ang
Passive Income mo is greater than your Expenses.

mabuhay, you are considered Financially Free.

129
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

The first time I read that in the book of Robert

Kiyosaki, namulat ang mga mata ko. Ayoko kasing
magtrabaho habang buhay para lang sa pera. And once I
learned about the Passive Income then I dedicated my
life to know ano ba ang best passive income? Paano ba
magkaroon ng Passive Income?

I consider money farm as passive income. The

basic rule is, you need to make your money farm big
enough so that you do not have to work ever again.
Kapag nabuo mo na ang money farm mo, this will give
you financial freedom.

You do not need to become a worker all your

life, you can also become the owner. You can become
the owner of your own Money farm! This will give you
Financial Freedom!

The No. 1 Goal to Become a Rich Filipino

130
BUILD A MONEY FARM

Our goal is to have Financial Freedom. And to

have Financial Freedom, hindi mo yan makukuha dahil
malaki ang sahod mo.

Your job is an active income. It means you have

to work to receive money. Your job has limits, if you
stop working, you will stop receiving money. So, if
something bad happens to you, you will be broke. And I
know you do not want to become a slave to money. You
do not want to work for money all your life. Rich
people don’t work for money. That is why the only way
to be financially free is to have a passive income that
can pay for your daily expenses.

So, our number 1 goal is to BUILD OUR OWN

MONEY FARM as early as possible!

To build a money farm, you need to have the

skills of a real Farmer.

Skills you need to have a Money Farm

131
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Bilang isang magsasaka, there are things that you

need to know para mas marami kang maharvest.

● Kailangan alam mo kung anong season sa

pagtatanim.

tataniman mo.

● Kailangan alam mo ang mga dapat gawin

regularly para hindi mamatay ang pananim mo.

● Kailangan alam mo rin paano maghintay, kasi

hindi naman agad agad tutubo yan.

4 Skills You Need to Build a Money Farm

Skill #1: Know Your Season

There are 2 types of seasons in the money farm.

1. Planting Season

132
BUILD A MONEY FARM

2. Harvesting Season

As a farmer, you need to learn na may planting

season at harvesting season.

The rule is, you need to know kung ano ang

season mo ngayon? Are you in the planting season? Or
harvesting season?

Kung nasa planting season ka, at sinubukan

mong mag harvest, anong makukuha mo? 'Di ba wala?
Wala ka talagang makukuha kasi hindi pa ready ang
tanim. Ang main job mo sa season na ‘to is to plant!
Avoid harvesting, Kasi hindi pa time.

You are still in the planting season. At sa season

na ito, you need to realize na, the more you plant, the
more you will harvest. So ang pinakatrabaho natin is to
plant more money dito sa money farm natin as much as
possible. The more we plant money, the more we will
harvest.

133
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

agad. Kaya maraming mahirap at baon sa utang. Gusto
nila i-harvest agad at i-enjoy ang nakuha nilang pera.

Bibili sila ng bagong cellphone, bagong damit,

bagong gamit.

season na ito, we need to plant more and avoid
harvesting.

ASSETS vs. LIABILITIES

Assets are anything that puts money in your

pocket.

Liabilities are anything that takes money from

your pocket.

134
BUILD A MONEY FARM

Sinabi ito ni Robert Kiyosaki, “The difference

between poor people and rich people is that poor people
buy liabilities, while rich people buy assets.”

Parehas naman gumagastos ang poor people at

rich people. Ang pagkakaiba lang ay kung ano ang
binibili nila.

LIABILITIES

Renta Kuryente
Kotse Tubig
Cellphone Appliances
Damit Gatas
Bag Diapers
Relo Load

135
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Sapatos Internet
Make-up Pasalubong
Pagkain Regalo
Restaurant Lazada
Gadgets Shopee

All these are liabilities. Yes, some of them are

But still all of them are liabilities because hindi naman
sila nagpo-produce ng pera. They take money away from
your pocket.

bagong damit, bagong cellphone, bagong sapatos kahit
naman meron na sila. I’m not saying na dapat hindi sila

Some of them ay umuutang pa para makabili ng

136
BUILD A MONEY FARM

bahay, kotse at paggamit ng credit card. So ang tendency

never be rich. You will work for the rest of your life. You
will stay poor, because poor people buy Liabilities.

Rich people buy assets, or anything na tumataas

ang value over time.

ASSETS

Real Estate

Properties

Stocks

Bonds

Mutual funds

Index funds

137
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Business

Franchise

Cryptocurrencies

NFTs

Gold and Silver

Rare Collections

These are what rich people buy! They are buying

assets. Every time they buy assets nape-preserve ang
yaman nila and at the same time, dumadami at lumalago
pa ito. That is why the rich are getting richer, and the
poor are getting poorer.

The more assets you
138
BUILD A MONEY FARM

buy, the richer you will become. And when the time
comes at nabuo mo na ang money farm mo, over time ay
lalago ang tinanim mo, then pwede mo na to i-harvest
and you do not need to work a day in your life again.

Rich Filipinos have money farms na

expenses nila, and that is why they are financially free.
They are free to stop working kung gusto nila or they can
keep on growing their money farm para mas lalong
maging komportable ang buhay nila at mas magawa nila
ang gusto nila. O kaya naman para makatulong din sila
sa ibang tao.

For real, this is one of the major things you

need to do to become Rich. We are in the planting
season, so keep buying more assets, keep on planting,
and keep on building that money farm. Avoid buying
liabilities, avoid harvesting, it is not yet the time.

Skill #2: Know your Land!

139
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

At ganoon din sa money farm, you need to

You need to know the place where you will earn

money as much as possible, and as safely as possible.
There are a lot of places to put your money and a lot of
assets to buy.

But not all assets are equal.

Some assets are good, some are bad, while others

are scam! We need to be careful, at kung ano bang asset
ang dapat mong bilhin.

Now this is crucial, kasi if you put your money sa

140
BUILD A MONEY FARM

Ang daming scammer, ang daming maling investments,

ang daming nalulugi. Kailangan maging matalino ka,
kung saan ang best investment to put your money.

Pero ang problema I didn’t have that kind of money back
141
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

then. P10,000 ay malaking halaga na bilang studyante.

Pero for some reason I found a way to get it within 1
week. Paano? Hindi ko ginastos yung baon ko at
umutang din ako sa parents ko. Tapos sumali ako at
naging member na ako sa networking company!

Then I started to work and invite other people to

join this networking company.

Long-story short, after many months, I managed

to invite only one person in my entire career as a
Network Marketer: MY MOM! Then, I quit! Haha! Sorry,
mom.

‘Wag ka agad-agad maniniwala sa mga tao kung

ang usapan ay tungkol sa assets or investments. Before
you invest your money dapat may set of rules or
142
BUILD A MONEY FARM

principles ka na sinusunod. Hindi lahat ng assets or

investment maganda. Most of it are scam, o kaya mas
magbebenefit yung nagbebenta kesa ikaw na nag-
iinvest.
principles ko in buying an asset.

Skill #3: Stop Saving and Just Plant More!

Now this is controversial, because I am not

recommending you to save money. Stop saving Money!
It's bullsh!t.

You know what happens kapag ang magsasaka,

143
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Money is a currency. Currency comes from the

word “current” meaning to flow. Dapat gumagalaw ang
pera mo. Kaya nga may cash flow. Hindi pwedeng
nakatago lang ‘yan sa tabi. You have to make your money
flow.

Why am I NOT Recommending You to Save

Money?

The first reason is because of inflation.

Sa Pilipinas, we have one of the biggest inflation rates in
the world! Every year, the value of our money is losing
its value! Kaya pamahal nang pamahal ang mga bilihin,
kasi yung pera mo last year hindi na ganyan ang halaga
niyan ngayon.

144
BUILD A MONEY FARM

Look at the graph below. That is the inflation

rates of the Philippines from 2017 to 2021.

That means, you lost
P16,518 of value in the last 5 years of saving!

Year Inflation Money

Rate
100,000
2017 2.90% 97,100
2018 5.20% 92,051
2019 2.50% 89,750
2020 2.60% 87,416
2021 4.50% 83,482

The longer you save money the more you lose

money! Look at the graph below, kung meron kang
P100,000 nung 2011, pagkalipas ng 10 taon, ang halaga na

145
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Year Inflation Money

Rate
100,000
2011 4.72% 95,280
2012 3.03% 92,393
2013 2.58 90,009
2014 3.60 86,188
2015 0.67 86,188
2016 1.25% 85,110
2017 2.90% 82,642
2018 5.20% 78,345
2019 2.50% 76,386
2020 2.60% 74,400
2021 4.50% 71,052

So, stop saving money!

after year.

146
BUILD A MONEY FARM

banko with a little interest, niloloko mo lang ang sarili

mo. You are not really saving your money; you are just
losing money. You are just becoming poorer and poorer.

The second reason why I don’t recommend that

you save is because usually, people would say they’re
saving, gagawa sila ng bagong savings account at
sasabihin nila “I will never use this money. This is for the
future. This is for the kids, at mag iipon lang ako ng pera
para yumaman.”

Pero that is bullshit.

You know that you will just use it if ever there is

an emergency.

The reason why mabilis natin magastos yung

147
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

gumastos ng pera. You can never save money lalo na

kapag dumating ang emergency, at siguradong dadating
yan. Kaya magagamit at magagamit mo talaga kapag ang
pera mo ay nasa banko lang.

That is why instead of SAVING, I recommend

that you BUY ASSETS!

When you buy assets, it provides you some

restrictions in using the money on other things.
assets. Some assets are not liquid like real estate.

It
will take you months before you get the money. And it is
okay! Kasi tumataas yung value ng pera mo and at the

kapag kailangan mo talaga. Like yung stocks, these
assets are slightly liquid, meaning pwede mo agad ma

148
BUILD A MONEY FARM

withdraw yung investment mo sa stocks. Pero the good

thing is my slight restriction din kasi and it may take you
3 days or more before makompleto ang proseso ng pag
withdraw. And most of the time, kung ganon katagal
hindi mo nalang iwiwithdraw yung pera.

Skill #4: Be Patient

“A Chinese bamboo tree takes five years to grow.

It has to be watered and fertilized in the ground where
it has been planted every day. It doesn’t break through
the ground for five years. After five years, once it breaks
through the ground, it will grow 90 feet tall in five weeks!
If, at any time that person stopped watering and
fertilizing that tree, it will die.”

Imagine kung gaano katagal ang patience ng

farmer ng Chinese bamboo tree. Araw-araw siyang
149
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

nandyan pa yung tinanim niya. Pero araw-araw niya pa

ring didiligan at lalagyan ng fertilizer, kasi alam niya
tutubo rin ito basta ‘wag siyang titigil.

Be patient.

Sobrang simpleng salita pero siguro ito yung

pinakamahirap gawin sa lahat.

Mahirap maging patient. Most of us, ang gusto

natin maging mayaman agad. Pero like planting a
Chinese bamboo tree, hindi yan basta-basta
magbubunga. It takes time and patience.

Once you have a strategy and a plan in investing,

you need to become patient. Hindi yan agad lalago,
hindi ‘yan agad dadami. It may take you years. But it is
okay, it is worth it.

Kapag biglang
bumagsak yung market, magpapanic-sell ka. Kapag
biglang tumaas yung market, magiging greedy ka at

150
BUILD A MONEY FARM

bibili ka agad. Your money farm will never grow if you

do not have the patience.

You need to develop patience, dahil walang easy

money sa investing. Walang easy money sa pagbuo ng
money farm. It may take you years before maging ready
i-harvest ang money farm mo.

But it is worth it, gaya ng Chinese Bamboo

farmer, na after 5 years of hard work and patience,
tutubo ang tinanim niya ng 90 Feet!

Once na mabuo mo ang Money Farm, you will

never work for money ever again. Kaya has the patience.
Keep on planting and stay the course. Soon enough, you
will experience financial freedom.

I recommend that you start investing in stocks

because maliit lang ang kailangan to start. And if you
already have the money and the knowledge you can also
invest in Real Estate. Real Estate is a great investment

151
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

but you have to do extensive research, have a huge

capital and learn new skills.

On the next chapter, we will talk about my

principles in buying an asset. Hindi basta-basta ang pag
invest ng pera. There must be rules and guidelines para
hindi ka maligaw at malugi.

152
BUILD A MONEY FARM

153
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

154
Chapter 8

Principles in Buying an Asset

"How many millionaires do you know

who have become wealthy by
investing in savings accounts?
I rest my case."
- Robert G. Allen

Having principles in buying an asset is important

because it will give you the guidelines and a plan before
you start to invest. Maiiwasan mong ma-scam, malugi o
kaya maloko.

So,
ring principles in buying assets.

155
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

These are my principles in buying an asset. I use

these principles when I buy any asset: stocks, real estate,
cryptocurrencies, and others. Before I invest, I remind
myself about these principles so that I can be safe,
secured and at the same time to maximize my profit.

Principle #1: DYOR!

Ano yung DYOR?

DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!

This is the 1st thing you need to do before you

put any of your money, kahit piso! Do your own
research!

156
PRINCIPLES IN BUYING AN ASSET

gumagawa, pag-aralan mo muna. Do your OWN

research.

No one can tell you kung saan ka mag-iinvest. It

is your money; it is your responsibility. ‘Wag agad
maniniwala. Kadalasan kasi yung mga investment na
sinasabi nila is too late. Marami na ang kumita, masyado
nang mataas ang price, and what goes up must come
down. Kaya mag-ingat ka sa pag iinvest.

Huwag ka magpadalos-dalos at pag-aralan mo

muna ng mabuti.

Those business or investment na pinaka pinag-

aralan mo lowers your risk. Kasi dahil alam mo na at
mapagkakatiwalaan mo sila, bumababa yung risk na
malulugi ka.

Don’t invest in what you do not know.

nalulugi.

157
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Just look at Bitcoin. Sobrang volatile ng

investment na yan. Nung 2017, nahype tong investment
yayaman tayo lahat dito and it did, ang daming naging

Nung 2018 it dropped so fast

with more than 80% loss.

Imagine, kung gaano karami ang nalugi sa

investment na ito. Some of them invested all their
savings - even sold their home para may mainvest.

A lot of people panicked sold, since hindi nila

kaya makita ang life savings na konti-konting nawawala.

Can you handle losing more than 80% of your

money? Yung P1,000,000 pesos na investment mo,
P200,000 na lang. You lost P800,000 in just a year.

158
PRINCIPLES IN BUYING AN ASSET

This is what happens kung hindi mo pinag-

aralan nang mabuti ang investment mo.

Pero what if nung 2017, pinag-aralan mo nang

mabuti yung Bitcoin, and sabi mo “Yes, this is a good
investment and I want to be part of it.”

So, nag-invest ka pa rin ng P1,000,000 nung 2017

at the highest peak, then it fell 80% the next year.

But since naaral mo ang investment na ‘to, you

believed in it, and you know that this is the future
money, you did not sell, you HOLD.

And fast forward after 4 years, we are now in

2021, Bitcoin grew up to 3x! Yung P1,000,000 mo naging
P3,000,000 na! Simply because pinag-aralan mo nang
fall.

So next time, do your own research before you

invest!

159
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Principle #2: Do not lose Money

“There are 2 rules in investing: Rule

#1 Do not lose money.
Rule #2 Do not forget Rule #1.”
- Warren Buffet

that you protect your downside.
This is the only way para
mabawasan yung Risk.

Protection is better than return! Importante na

maging defensive ka pagdating sa investments. You are
building your Money Farm.

Tama yung kasabihan na, “slowly, but surely!”

This should be your main principle pagdating sa

pagbuo ng money farm mo.

160
PRINCIPLES IN BUYING AN ASSET

Protect your money farm. This is the most

important thing.
money farm mo. So, invest only in safe and tried and
tested investments.

Please avoid high risk, high return Investments!

Napakadaming ganto. And you will never be successful
kung gusto mo lang ng easy money. There is no such
thing as easy money!

It takes time, money and knowledge sa

investments na maasahan mo. Avoid high risk
investments.

There is no such thing.

161
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Walang makakapagsabi kung tataas o bababa

ang isang investment sa future. Everything is just
speculation. They try technical analysis, looking at
graphs and forecasts, but most of them are wrong at
hindi nangyayari. No one can predict the future!

What you can do is look at their fundamentals.

Okay ba yung management? Kumikita ba sila? May
vision ba sila? Do people believe and buy their products?
Tatagal ba itong kumpanya? These are the things na
kailangan mong malaman bago ka mag-invest.

May mga investments na low risk, with

reasonably high return. Look for those investments.
It exists and I am happy to share it with you
sa next chapter.

High-risk Investments cannot be part of your

money farm.

162
PRINCIPLES IN BUYING AN ASSET

Now I have to say na magkaiba ang high-risk at

high-volatility.
investment.

Now before we move-on there are investments

na highly-volatile, pero low-risk. What does it mean? It
bumaba yung value, and they are designed that way lalo
na kung nag sisimula pa lang.

Examples are cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and

Ethereum. Sobrang volatile ng asset na to, but if you look
at fundamentals, many people believe that these are the
future of money, and they have a lot of potential.

So even if it is volatile, if you study and learn

the fundamentals it has a low risk, because you know it
will go up eventually.

163
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Principle #3: Diversify!

Don't put all your eggs in one basket!

Diversify means ‘wag mo ilagay lahat ng pera mo

sa isang investment lang. Dapat ikalat mo sa iba't ibang
investment.

Diversification also maximizes your return kasi

mas maraming klase ng asset na sakop mo it means you
are also part of their upside. There are season sa bawat
season, you need to diversify.

One of the ways I diversify is I buy ETFs and

Index Funds.
na rin group of companies and automatically nag

164
PRINCIPLES IN BUYING AN ASSET

diversify ka na. I will talk more about this on the next

chapter.

Principle #4: Think Long Term!

Your money farm is meant for the long term.

Please do not invest money kung gusto mo ilabas din
agad yung pera after a few days, few weeks, a few
months or a few years.

more!
When you buy
this kind of investments, masaya ka na i-hold long-term
and you are confident enough about the future of the
asset na bibilhin mo.

I’m not saying na once mabili mo yung asset ay

165
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

There are 2 instances para sa’kin na pwede kang

magbenta ng asset.

1. You can sell an asset kapag biglang tumaas ang

Yes, you can sell and take profit.

2. Kapag may nakita kang ibang mas magandang

opportunity. Basta siguradong mas maganda ang
opportunity na lilipatan mo. Kasi mahirap kung
papalit-palit ka ng investment. Mali din yon.

The main point of thinking long term is this: If

mentality mo na ay, “this asset is for long term, and it
hindi mo yan basta-basta bibitawan kasi you know it.
Alam mo na hindi ‘yan mawawala, and in the long term
tataas pa yan.
166
PRINCIPLES IN BUYING AN ASSET

One of the advantages of thinking long term is

hindi mo kailangan bantayan yung portfolio mo bawat
oras o kaya araw-araw. Since may tiwala ka sa assets na
bibilhin mo in the long term, it doesn't really matter
marami. Since may tiwala ka in the long term hindi ‘to
mawawala and over time, you know your assets will
grow.

Chapter 9

Invest in the Stock Market!

"I will tell you how to become rich.

Close the doors.
Be fearful when others are greedy.
Be greedy when others are fearful."
- Warren Buffett

Filipinos Do Not Know How to Invest

According to Dailypik.com, “Only less than one-

half of 1% of the total population of the Philippines
invests in the stock market.” Meaning to say…

● Less than 0.5% ng Filipino lang ang marunong

mag-invest sa stock market

● 99.6% ng Filipino hindi marunong mag-invest sa

stock market. Now, that is very alarming.

169
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

In the US, almost all working adults are investing

in the stock market. Singapore has roughly 33% of their
population participate in their stock market, Malaysia
18%, and Hong Kong 17%.

Tayo? Less than 0.5%! That is very low! No

wonder ang daming mahirap sa atin because we do not
know how to invest!
Paano tayo
matututo kung walang magtuturo? It is like investing is
not for us.

Akala natin we are not allowed to become an

owner of a company. We thought there is no way to
become a stockholder of those big corporations.

WELL, YOU CAN!

170
You can invest in the stock market and become
a stockholder of any company you like! In fact, I am
pushing you to start right now.

1. You do not need a big capital

2. You do not need a degree in school

3. Heck, the only thing you need is just a

phone and the internet!

Nakakalungkot lang na we still have a mentality

na “isang kahig, isang tuka”. Some of us, tinanggap
nalang na habang buhay silang worker o isang
trabahador.

The Truth Hurts

Alam natin itong lahat. Ang yumayaman lang ay

ang owner, at hindi ang worker. Ang main reason why a
business is created is for the profit of the stockholder.
Business is created for profit, that is the main purpose.

171
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Ang secondary purpose lang ay yung para

makatulong sa worker, at para makapagprovide ng
magandang serbisyo sa customer. Business is created to
earn money; it is not a charity.

And I'm telling you right now that you do not

have to become a worker all your life. You can become a
partial owner of a company you believe in. You can
become a stockholder! You can invest in stocks today!

World of Possibilities

We are living in the world of possibilities; you

can now start investing and grow your money. Sa
chapter na ito I will teach you why you need to invest,
how you can start to invest, and my very own strategy
on investing in the stock market!

Nobody is stopping you from being successful.

172
ng pag-aaral, and it also doesn't matter kung maliit lang
ang pera mo. You can start investing right now.

Why Invest in The Stock Market?

1. It has the greatest opportunities

Investing in the stock market is like buying a

small part of a company. You become a partial owner of
the company you invest in, dahil doon kapag tumaas

dividends o profit sharing, minsan quarterly or twice a
year or once a year.

This gives you high opportunities kasi you can be

part of a company that you believe in, you can invest
173
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

your money in them and be part of their growth.

mo, then just invest money in it and let it grow.

2. You can utilize the Power of Compounding

Sabi ni Albert Einstein,

“Compound Interest is the 8th wonder of the

world. He who understands it, earns it; he who doesn't,
pays for it.”

Compound interest is the interest you earn on

interest.

You may not realize the Power of Compounding,

but this is so powerful that your mind will be blown
when you see the effect.

Let me just show you an example:

Si Ralph ay 19 years old at nagsimula siyang mag-

174
maging 27 years old siya. So, for 9 years, ang amount na
investment.

The stock market average return is 10% a year.

Ngayon si Ralph ay 65 years old na at gusto ng magretire.

Ngayon magkano na kaya yung investment niya

na P32,400?

His investment grew to P2,011,408.

In other words, yung P32,400 pesos na ininvest

niya ay naging 2 million Pesos! That is the Power of
Compounding Interest!

That is the power of Compounding Interest!

Imagine if Hindi siya tumigil mag-invest ng 300 per

month. O kaya naman imbis na P300, ginawa niyang
P500 or P1000 per month. Gaano na ka kaya kalaki ang
pera niya ngayon?

1. The earlier you start to invest, the better!

2. The more frequent you invest, the better!

3. The longer you hold, the better!

Start investing as soon as possible kahit gaano

kaliit ang pera mo. Soon enough kapag ready na i-
kaliit ang income mo, if you start investing early and
frequently you can become a millionaire in your lifetime!
Yung akala mong impossible, possible pala! Isipin mo
yung P300 per month, kaya pala umabot ng 2 million

178
pesos! Kaya naniniwala ako lahat tayo pwedeng maging
milyonaryo!

3. It is easy to start and anyone can do it! I

mean ANYONE!

It is very easy to start! Kahit sino ay pwede mag-

invest basta may phone ka at internet.

● No need for big capital. Kahit maliit ang pera

pwede!

● No need for fancy degree. Kahit hindi nakapag-

aral ay pwede!

Here are my recommended platform na pwede

ka mag invest. Dito ako nag iinvest, so I know it is safe.

Philippine Stock Market - COL Financial

International Stock Market - Etoro

There are alot of brokerage out there, pero diyan

ako may pinakatiwala. In Etoro, it is very easy to register,

179
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

parang nag register ka lang sa Facebook. And before you

know it, pwede ka na agad mag-invest.

Why I Invest in The International Stock

Market?

I love the Philippines, pero medyo unstable ang

economy natin, and we can’t deny that. We have a
corrupt government, we have companies na hindi
nagbabayad ng tamang tax, we lack transparency, we
lack control, we have very high inflation. So, in short, our
economy is bad at mahirap sumugal ng pera kung ganto
ang klase ng bansa natin.

And at the same time, yung brokerage sa

Pilipinas medyo outdated. Medyo mahirap magregister,
intindihin. And minsan matagal din magreflect yung buy
and sell ng stocks. In short, hindi user-friendly ang
brokerage sa Pilipinas.

180
Because of these, I do not invest heavily in the
Philippine Stock Market.

I am heavily invested in the US Stock Market.

Higher transparency, proven track record, and their
economy is very stable. Plus, yung mga companies na
madalas ginagamit natin nandito rin, like Facebook,
Apple, Netflix, Microsoft - these companies are what we
use here in the Philippines.

Did you know na mas malaki pa ang Market Cap

Not to mention, 6.4% ang average growth per

year ang Philippines Stock Market for the past 10 years,
while 14% growth per year in the US Stock Market.

We now live in a global world. I don’t think it’s

wrong to invest in foreign companies lalo kung
makakatulong ito na lumago ang ating pera. The
important thing is that you start investing today.

How to Start Investing?

181
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

I recommend that you start investing in Etoro.

First of all, this is not a paid sponsorship for Etoro. I
don't get anything from Etoro. I am just sharing my
experience.
Etoro is an investment platform where you can
buy and sell stocks, cryptocurrencies, currencies,
indices, commodities, and others. It is very easy to start
investing in Etoro, but first, let me tell you why I love
Etoro.

1. Sobrang dali makasali, kahit sino pwedeng

gumawa ng account as easy as 1,2,3.

2. They have virtual account, meaning, before you

start putting real money, you can start investing
with play money. Pwede mo masubukan yung
platform by just using the virtual account. It is
very easy to buy and

sell stocks.

182
3. They have a technology called CopyPeople and
CopyPortfolio. This is very useful for beginners.
Basically, it means pwede mo kopyahin yung
Once
you copy them, automatically lahat ng bibilhin at
bebenta nilang stocks, gagawin mo rin. And you
do not have to do anything. Simply pick a very
good investor, then copy their portfolio. Then
boom, all the transactions na gagawin niya,
gagawin mo na rin…. for FREE! You do not have
to pay them.

How to join Etoro?

Simple. Just download the app in GooglePlay, or

AppStore on your phone. Or go to Etoro.com using your
computer. Register and complete their requirements.
Then, you can start investing in less than 5 minutes!

WARNING!!!
183
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

users nila nalulugi because of CFD trading.

Please! Don’t put any money in stocks if you do

not have a strategy and you do not know what you are
doing.

There’s a strategy! May strategy and it requires

some skills to invest in the stock market.

Mostly you need to learn to manage your

emotions. And it sounds easy but I'm telling you it is
really hard. Mahirap i-handle ang emotions natin lalo na
pag dating sa pera.

184
Can you handle losing 50% of your money? Kasi
And if you have a strategy, you will not
be afraid of that moment. Have a plan when the bear
market comes.

I’m gonna tell you my strategy in a few moments.

But please before you make any rush decisions, please
have your own strategy. Read more books about
investing. Do some research. In short DYOR! Do your
own research!

7 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started

Investing in Stocks

1. Do not buy Hype stocks!

Ilang beses na akong nalugi because of hype

stocks.
Facebook group, na maraming nagsasabi na this is the
next big thing! TO THE MOON daw yung stocks na to.

185
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

And I am telling you. Don’t believe this sh*t. Pump and

Dump ang tawag sa gantong strategy. Biglang tataas
yung stock because of hype, then kapag mataas na
masyado, biglang magsesell yung mga nauna to take
profit. Most of the time yung mga yumayaman lang ay

2. Do not use high leverage!

Dito ako pinakanalugi. Leverage means, uutang

investment mo. Pero yung catch, merong stop loss, kung
sakaling bumagsak ng 50% yung pera mo, automatically
out ka na. I’m telling you guys, lalo na kung baguhan ka
pa lang, do not use leverage. Huwag muna kayo
gumamit ng leverage as much as possible, lalo na kung
nagsisimula ka pa lang. Marami na ang nalugi dahil dito
at isa na ako don. Sa Etoro merong gantong option and
I do not recommend that you

186
use this. People use leverage kasi gusto nila na kumita
ng mataas at mabilis. Using leverage is like gambling, it
is very addicting. At mas maraming nalulugi dahil dito.

3. Do not revenge trade!

lugi mo. Please huwag na. Loss is loss.
lugi mo. Just stick to your strategy in investing.

4. Do not join group chats of amateur investors

Ilang beses na rin ako nalugi because of joining

group chats of amateur investors. Hindi ko nilalahat, but
most of the group chats are just toxic. They will just
poison your mind to do things na hindi align sa strategy
mo. Only listen to people who are credible in investing.

187
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Please stay away from group chats lalo na kung usapan

ay easy money. No one can predict the future, kahit
gaano sila kagaling sa technical analysis. Stick on your
strategy, listen only to credible long-term investors.

4. You cannot be rich overnight

Investing cannot be your bread and butter.

You
cannot be rich overnight. It may take you years. And

You still need to work or to start your own

magiging mayaman ka agad just because you invest a
little money in the stock market. Stock market can only
give you 10% return per year on average. And that is big
enough, don’t expect more. Don’t expect na 50% return
‘yan per year. No one can do that consistently.

188
market, so just stick on investing in the market, and
expect only a 10% growth. That’s good enough.

5. Investors beat traders!

Investors are long term thinkers, while traders

are short term thinkers. One of my principles in
investing is to think long term. Why? Because 96% ng
professional traders, hindi kayang matalo ang market
over the long term.

Mga professional traders sila, meaning meron

silang degree in stock trading. They know all the
techniques in techinical analysis of stocks. Tutok sila sa
computer 24/7, and they have the first-hand information
bago pa man lumabas sa public. They invest in big
computers that can forecast the future. BUT STILL, 96%
of them cannot beat the market over the long term.

Long term investors, na nag-invest lang sa US

Stock Market, beats 96% of professional traders without
189
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

doing anything! Yung mga traders, araw-araw sila

nakatutok sa computer nila. Naghihintay ng tamang
oportunidad para bumili at magbenta ng stocks. But
most of them cannot beat the market.

Kaya be a long term investor! Huwag mo nang

subukan magmagaling sa pag short-term trade. Mas
computer araw-araw.

Investing in US Stock Market as a Filipino

As a Filipino investing in the US Market, ang una

mong dapat natin gawin is to learn about the history of
their stock market at kung paano gumalaw yung stocks
nila. If you learn this, you will not be afraid whatever
happens sa market nila. When the Market drops 20% to
50%, you will not be afraid, because you know that this
is part of the process. It happened before many times
and they recovered quickly.
190
Before I tell you my very own strategy, first, let
me share with you the 10 Facts about the US Market.
This is from the book Unshakeable by Tony Robbins. If
you want to learn more, and have more details, please
read that book, you will never regret it, especially if you
also want to invest in the US Stock Market.

10 FACTS about the US Stock Market

1. US Stock Market gives 10% return annually.

For the past 100 years, the average return of US

Stock Market is 10% per year. Some of you, tingin maliit
yan but, if you have big amounts of money, malaki yan.
And with the power of compounding interest, grabe ang
This
asset probably gives the highest return with relatively
low risk. For the Past 10 years, from 2010 to 2020, The US
Stock Market gave, 14% returns every year! It is a no-
brainer not to invest in the US Stock Market.

191
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

If you are wondering, yes you can buy the whole

US Stock Market. The Benchmark of US Stock Market is
SPX500 meaning the Top 500 companies in US, pwede
mo siya bilhin thru an ETF na nag mimic ng SPX500, like
$VOO, and $SPY. Pwede din yung $VTI, it composed of
more than 3,000 companies ng US. Also $QQQ to mimic
NASDAQ, one of the benchmarks in the US Market. All
of these are available in Etoro.

2. 96% of actively managed funds cannot beat the

market.

96% of professional stock traders cannot beat

The US Stock Market! Ang average return nila is only 4%
per year. These people are professionals, meaning they
have a degree, they work in big corporations, and know
everything about technical analysis. Some corporations
even invest in technology that can forecast the future,
with big computers and AI robots, but still most of them
cannot beat the market!

192
not showing you their loses! Ask them to show you their
whole portfolio and transaction history over 10 years and
for sure, mas marami ang losses kesa sa gain over a
period of time. Investors beat traders over the long term.
ng professional investor/ trader, it is better to buy ETF
na nag mimic ng US Stock Market, Like VOO and SPY,
and just HOLD! And I guarantee you will perform better
than 96% of the professionals and average investors.

3. Fees Matters

If you are thinking na mas okay na maghire ka na

lang ng mag mamanage ng pera mo to handle your
investments, like putting your money in a Mutual Fund
then you are just wasting money. Most of them,
naniningil ng 1% or 2% expense fee, and you think na
maliit lang naman, but I am telling you 1% expense fee is

193
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

worth 10 Years of your income! And gaya nga ng sabi ko

kanina, most of them cannot beat the market!

It is better na ikaw na mismo ang mag-invest,

than hire people to invest for you and pay them for
underperformance. Buying an ETF that mimics the US
market will outperform most active investors.

4. Corrections (10% drop) have happened once a

year

What is a correction? Correction is when an asset

drops 10%-19%. And historically, the US Stock Market
drops 10% once a year. Now, why is this important? It is
important that you know that it is normal to drop 10%
once a year so that you will not be afraid of it.

Most people think when the market drops 10%

it is the end of the world and they panic sell, so they
lose their money. But these things are normal.
Dropping 10% is normal.

194
Corrections on average last for two months so
have patience. After two months, the market will
rebound. Babalik uli sa dati ang investment mo, so stay
on the course. Be patient. Tataas uli yan. This happens
every year.

5. Bear Markets (20% drop) have happened every 4

years

Now, if you can't handle corrections, a 10% drop.

Then you will have a heart attack when you experience
the bear market. Bear Market is when the US Stock
market drops 20% up to 50%. Most people think it is the
end of the world, so they panic sell their stocks because
they cannot handle it. Historically, bear markets
happened every 4 years!

However, you do not need to be afraid because

bear markets only last 1 year on average, and after 1 year,
the stocks will rise again!

And let me tell you something.

195
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

The greatest opportunities are during the bear

Market! Imagine buying companies at 50% discount!

After a year of pain, the market will rebound!

And have an all-time-high! The market will be back
again! Stronger than ever. If you hold on to your stocks,
at hindi ka nag panic sell, you will not lose any money.

Kung nakabili ka on the bottom, when

everybody is afraid, then you will make a fortune!

That is why it is important that you know that

you will experience a bear market every 4 years! And it
is normal! Do not be afraid of it, instead use it to your
advantage.

The next time the bear market comes, when

people are afraid and selling stocks, you start buying
Stocks at 50% discount! Because you know after 1 year,
the market will rise again!

6. After every Correction and Bear, will be a BULL

MARKET

196
Now here’s the good news!
MARKET! What is a Bull Market? Eto yung halos lahat
ng stocks tumataas! Now you have to remember na every
4 years ang bear market, at tumatagal ng 1-year ang bear
market, so ang ratio is 3:1.

3 years of Bull Market: 1 year of bear market.

Kaya it is good to stay on the market kasi mas

mataas ang upside kesa sa downside!

After every correction, Bull Market comes! So

better buy the dip!

After every bear market, bull market comes! So

better buy the dip!

7. All-time high happens every month!

The average all-time high of stocks is every

month! That is why when you zoom out SPX500, pataas

197
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

palagi ang stocks. In the short term, parang ang gulo-

gulo minsan tataas, minsan bababa, pero pag zinoom
out mo, the stocks always go up!

8. No one can consistently time the market!

That’s right! No one can consistently time the

market!

Alam mo akala ko dati there's a technology or a

robot na pwede kang bilhin to time the market, para
alam mo kung kelan bibili at kelan mag bebenta. That is
why I bought a lot of investing books and courses to find
the answer.

But no one, kahit sinong tao, kahit sinong robot,

kahit anong school pa yan, can consistently time the
market. Hindi mo talaga malalaman kung tataas or
bababa ang stocks in the short term. You just have to
trust na in the long term, laging tataas ang stocks so it

198
Kaya maraming trader nalulugi kasi they try to time the
market, but most of them fail.

Let me save you some time. Huwag na kayo

magtrade. Huwag nyo na igamble ang pera niyo. Invest
for long term, not the short term.

Do not trade stocks, because you can never time

the market kahit anong technical analysis skills na
meron ka. You are doomed to fail. And it is not worth
your time.

9. Biggest RISK is outside the market!

Yung iba, akala nila they can time the market.

bumili, so ang tendency they are in heavily in cash. But
I am telling you the biggest risk is when you are not
investing. ‘Di ba napag-usapan na natin, every time na
you are in cash matatalo ka ng inflation. And at the same
time, no one can time the market, so it is better na naka-
invest ka sa market kesa hindi.

199
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Ang sabi nga nila “Time in the market is better

than timing the market”.

10. Biggest opportunities are during the BEAR!

The biggest opportunities happen during the

bear market, when everybody is afraid, when every stock
is at a discount. People think na end of the world na, but
this is the time that you must invest heavily kasi
Now I created
a strategy where you can take advantage of the bear
market. If ever bumagsak man yung market may cash ka
pangbili sa mga discounted companies.

MY INVESTMENT STRATEGY

After reading the facts about the US Market, plus

my principles in buying an asset, I created my very own
strategy that is designed to ride the upside of the bull
market, and at the same time, protect me once the bear

200
market comes. Now, I do not recommend you to follow
my investment strategy, this is just a guide. You must
decide for your own strategy. We all have different risk
tolerance. This is might be too risky for you.

But first let me remind you about my principles

in buying an asset:

1. DYOR! Do your own research

2. Do not lose money!
3. Diversify!
4. Think long term!

If you forget these, I suggest that you go back to

Chapter 8 and read this because this is crucial before
investing in the Stock Market.

Now here’s my strategy….

You Only Need to Do 3 Things!

These 3 things are equally important when you

are investing in the stock market. This is my strategy.
They are simple to do but very effective to beat the

201
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Market and have the greatest return as much as possible

with a very low risk of losing your money. Give
importance to all these 3 things when you are investing.

1. Create an Asset Allocation.

2. Invest Regularly.
3. Rebalance.

Job #1: Create an Asset Allocation

You only need to do this once. Do this now, and

stick to it whatever happens.

Now this is the first step. This simply means that

you need to divide your money into different asset
classes. First this gives you diversification and at the
same time it will protect you from the Bear Market.

Now here is my asset allocation, I have a very

strict asset allocation, and it is very simple. I divide my
money into 3 Investments.

1. Market (40%)

202
2. Safe Investments (40%)
3. Growth Investments (20%)

Market (40%)

● Market comprises 40% of my total Investments.

Market is the SP500 and NASDAQ. SP500 is the
top 500 companies in US. NASDAQ is mostly the
top technology companies of the US.

● I invest mostly in ETFs that mimic the Market:

$VOO, $VTI, $QQQ. Based on the facts, you
must not try to beat the market by picking your
own individual stocks, because 96% of the
professionals can’t even beat the market in the
long term. Instead, I will just invest heavily in the
US Stock Market.

● If you still do not know, you can buy the whole

US Market by buying the SPX500, and NASDAQ,
these are the benchmarks. It gives you instant
diversification because you are buying the TOP

203
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

500 companies of US. I invest in low-cost ETFs

that mimic the market like $VOO, $VTI, and
$QQQ.

● I also invest in some leveraged ETFs that mimic

the Market. You can buy SPX500 X2 or X3. It
means if the SPX500 increases 5%, the leveraged
ETF X2 will increase 10%. If the SPX500 decreases
5%, the leveraged ETF X2 will decrease 10%.
Leveraged ETFs are great tools to beat the
market in the long term since we know that bull
market happens most of the time. Just look at the
graph. If you zoom out, Leveraged ETFs that
mimic the Market always go up in the long run.
But be careful, this is more volatile, but the risk
is the same. I only invest up to 5% of my portfolio
in leveraged ETFs like $UPRO, $SSO, $TQQQ.

● Investing in the market is much easier than

picking your own stocks. You do not have to
think, you do not have to research. You

204
automatically diversify your portfolio when you
buy the whole US Market, it's like you are buying
the top 500 companies in the US. Plus, when you
invest in the market you already beat 96% of the
Professional Stock Traders/ investors.

● Not to mention, you beat all those amateur

Most of them cannot beat
the market in the long term, so imbis mamili ka
ng individual stocks na tingin mo tataas, and
spend many hours researching the company.
Why not just trust the market! Invest in the
whole US market! It will make your life easier;
you do not have to check it every day. And this
will give you the greatest return!

SAFE INVESTMENTS (40%)

205
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

● Safe investments compose 40% of my portfolio.

Safe Investments are safe, meaning it will not go
down as much when there is a correction or a
bear market. The main purpose of this
investment is to protect you from the Bear
Market.

● Since we all know that corrections and bear

markets are normal and part of the process it is
good that you have protection.

● Based on facts, the biggest opportunities happen

during the Bear Market, so when the market is at
50% discount. I will sell my safe investments to
buy those opportunities.

● I invest in the technology of Etoro called “Sharp

Trader Copyportfolio”. It has a risk score of 3,
and stop-loss of 5%. Imagine hiring the 20 Best
investors in Etoro with the highest Sharpe Ratio
working for you. Each one has a stop loss of 5%,

206
if they underperform Etoro will change them
quarterly. I think this is one of the safest
investments you can make with a very high
return. A market may drop 50% but this one will
only drop up to 5%.

● Safe doesn’t mean low return! Sharp Trader

Copyportfolio gives you a very HIGH RETURN!
Just look at the return of the Sharp Trader
Copyportfolio for the past 4 years...

2017 = 65% Profit

2018 = -1.64% Loss
2019 = 13.91% Profit
2020 = 25.34% Profit

● The only problem with Sharp Trader

Copyportfolio is you need $5,000 to invest, so if
you do not have that kind of money, you can look
for other Popular Investors and put a stop loss of
5%. I prefer Olivier Danvel because he never had
a red month! Remember to put a stop loss of 5%

207
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

because the main purpose of this investment is

to protect you from the bear market.

● It is important that you invest in safe

investments, so that when corrections and bear
market come, this portion of your portfolio ay
hindi masyadong maaapektuhan, so you can sell
these safe investments to buy the Market at a
discount!

GROWTH INVESTMENTS (20%)

● I allocate only 20% of my portfolio to buy

individual stocks and cryptocurrencies that I
think have the potential to be profitable.

● 20% lang kasi mas may tiwala ako sa market kesa

sa kakayahan kong mamili ng stocks. Di ba nga
professionals can’t even beat the market, so sino

208
pa kaya ako? Tthe maximum money that I can
buy on my own is only 20% of my portfolio.

● I only buy companies or crypto that I really

believe in. Mostly I buy companies that I use
like Airbnb, Facebook, and Google. These
companies are close to me and I know them
very well. That is why I trust them and I invest
in them.

● I also invest in an index fund of cryptocurrencies.

I invest in Crypto20 or C20. When you are
investing in Crypto20, it is like you are investing
in the TOP 20 Cryptocurrencies. In the stock
market, the best way to invest is through an
index fund that mimics SPX500. That is why I
also believe that in the crypto market, instead of
picking individual crypto from 10,000+
cryptocurrencies. It is better to buy C20, because
of the same concept.

209
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

FINAL NOTE about Asset Allocation:

Now you need to have a strict asset allocation,

kapag wala ka nito, baka mag all-in ka or ma-overexpose
ka sa isang asset class. Some people are all-in on
cryptocurrencies, which is very risky. We all know all
asset classes will fall from 50% to 80%. That is why you
need to divide your money into market, safe
investments, and growth investments.

Now you can change your asset allocation. If you

are more conservative, you can put a higher percentage
in safe investments. If you want to be more aggressive,
you can have a higher percentage in the market and
growth investments.

But what I recommend is that you only do this

once, sa simula bago ka mag-invest. Decide how much
percentage of your money will go to the market, safe
investments, and growth Iinvestments. This is very
crucial to avoid getting over-exposed on a single asset
class.

210
Job #2: Invest Regularly (Dollar Cost Averaging)

You do not need to check your investment

everyday. But you need to invest or buy more assets
regularly, whatever the price is. Remember, we are in the
planting season, so our main job is to plant! Pwedeng
every 15th pag sahod mo or every month. Basta dapat
everytime na nagkakaroon ka ng pera you invest a
percentage in the stocks, whatever the price, kahit all-
time high or pinakamababa or nasa gitna. Invest
regularly.

We spent a whole chapter on building the money

farm. Investing in the stock market is part of our money
farm. We know that we are still in the planting season,
and our main job is to plant more and avoid harvesting.
This is the meaning of buying more assets. This is the
meaning of investing regularly.

Kailangan mag-invest ka as much as possible.

Every time you earn money, invest in the stock market.
Every 15th or once a month, invest in the stock market.
211
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Do not worry if the market is at an all-time high,

or if we are in the bear market, our main job is to buy
more assets, do not even worry about the price.

You cannot time the market. And we know that

time in the market is better than timing the market.

Job #3: Rebalance

Rebalancing means binabalik mo sa tamang

percentage yung asset allocation ng portfolio mo if ever
may significant changes.

Example, if dumating yung bear market, at

bumagsak ng 30% ang US stock market. So magbabago
yung asset allocation mo.

Imbis na market is 40%, safe investment is 40%,

growth is 20%. Since bumagsak nga yung market, ang
is 65%, growth is 10%.

212
So ano ang gagawin?
It just means to
return to the original asset allocation.

Ganoon din naman kapag nagprofit yung

market.

Kapag tumaas yung market ng 20%, pwede mong

ibenta nang konti yung market, to buy safe investments
para mag balance ulit yung asset allocation mo.

Why do we Rebalance?

We rebalance because we do not want to become

overexposed on a single asset class. At the same time,
kapag nagrebalance ka, it’s like you are buying low and
selling high, and that is the most basic strategy of
investing. Buy Low, Sell High!

When do we Rebalance?
213
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

You only need to rebalance when this happens:

- When there is a Bear Market

- When you have a big profit

- When there is a significant change in the
balance of your portfolio.

Do not over-rebalance. Wag mo naman i-

rebalance maya’t maya yung portfolio mo. Iwasan mong
i-rebalance palagi ang portfolio mo. Since hindi naman
palaging may correction, once a year lang, at yung bear
market bihira.

Huwag mo rin irebalance agad kapag nagprofit

ka. Hayaan mong maggrow yung isang asset class. Ika
nga nila, “Let your winners, win!” Kung nagpro-profit ka,
hayaan mo muna siya gumalaw. If ever you think
yung asset allocation, then that is the time to sell.

214
So probably you only need to rebalance twice or
thrice a year. Hindi matrabaho ‘di ba? That is why hindi
mo kailangan bantayan yung investment mo. Hayaan
mo lang siya. Magfocus ka on earning more money para
mas marami kang pang-invest. Rich people buy assets.

FINAL NOTE ABOUT INVESTING IN THE STOCK

MARKET

Now you know how to invest in the stock

market, why to invest in the stock market, and my
strategy in investing in the stock market. You now have
the knowledge for becoming a rich Filipino. But
knowledge without action is nothing. Do not waste the
knowledge that you learned today. Apply everything
you learned and start investing now.

Just a reminder that we are still in the Planting

Season, sorry paulit-ulit ako dito.

And in this season, we cannot harvest, so do not

investing. Do not chase easy money.
215
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Your main job is to keep on planting, keep on

investing, using the money from your active income,
your bread and butter.

We are here for the long term.

216
217
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

218
Chapter 10

Your True Net Worth

“Success is not the key to happiness.

Happiness is the key to success.
If you love what you are doing,
you will be successful.“
- Albert Schweitzer.

Becoming a Rich Filipino

Yes, I know we talked about money a lot, but we

have to address this topic. Kung hindi natin ito pag-
uusapan feeling ko I have failed you. Becoming a Rich
Filipino doesn’t mean being just rich financially. It
means becoming rich in all aspects of life. Including
being rich physically, emotionally, mentally and
spiritually. Yes, it is not just about money. Money is
important but if you are just too focused on money,
219
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

buhay mo. Kung mapabayaan mo ang ibang aspects ng
buhay mo, I do not think na you can really become a
Rich Filipino.

When I was young, I dreamed of becoming one

of the richest men in the world. Yung sobrang daming

Siguro nga kaya binabasa mo itong libro na to kasi you
want to be one of them. Sino bang may ayaw? Lahat
naman tayo ay gustong yumaman.

Pero ang tanong, paano mo ba masasabing

mayaman ang isang tao? Pera lang ba ang kailangan
natin para yumaman? Kapag dumami ba ang pera mo
masasabi mo bang mayaman ka na?

220

I’m telling you right now, kahit gaano pa karami

Money is just part of making you rich,
but it is not everything.

The moment you realize that life is not really

about the money, is the starting point of being truly
rich.

221
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

NET WORTH

I don’t think so. I think as
a human being you are already rich. Minsan, di mo lang
nakikita o minsan mali ang tinitignan mo.

Before I wrote this chapter, iniisip ko kung tama

ba na ilagay ko to sa book about making Filipinos rich?
Then I realized that the title of the book is “How to
Become a Rich Filipino”.

And I know within me that being rich is not just

about the money. Money is just one part. There are
several parts to becoming a truly Rich Filipino at sa
chapter na to

yun ang pag uusapan natin.

YOU ARE VERY RICH

Many people think they are poor! But they are

wrong! They are very rich!
222
Tanungin kita, pagpapalit mo ba yung isa mong

You are PRICELESS, you are RICH.

And we are just talking about your physical

You are worth far more than billions of pesos as

a human being.

223
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Now, let us look at the bigger picture.

See, how much you have? You have a lot. You are worth
far more than money. Kaya huwag na huwag mong
sasabihing mahirap ka. You are very rich.

Here’s the Problem

We work very
long hours to the point na hindi na tayo nakakakain ng
maaayos.
Buong 8 hours nasa office, madalas may overtime pa,
isama pa natin yung trapik. Buong oras natin nauubos
224

Disease, broken family, overweight, and

depression.

Kung hindi mo napapansin, this is very common

sa mundo ngayon. Just look around you.
Dahil

Don’t let money define your value in life. Your

life is more than just money. Yes, money is part of your
net worth, pero hindi lang ‘yon lahat. Importante ang

225
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

pera pero there are other areas of your life na kailangan

Every area is crucial to your wealth. isa lang ang mawala
dito, I don’t think you are really rich. These areas will
determine your True Net Worth.

PARTS OF YOUR TRUE NET WORTH

1. Money
2. Health
3. Relationships

Net Worth is not just your money and

properties, Your true net worth is made up of money,
health, and relationships. Importante ang bawat area na
to para masabi mong mayaman ang isang tao. Kung
mawala ang isa jan, I don't think you can say that you are
truly rich.

Akala ng marami para maging mayaman

kailangan mo lang ng pera. Hindi na ganoon ngayon.
You need all these 3 ingredients para masabing
226
mapabayaan mo ang isang area of your life and regret it
later. Pag usapan natin to isa-isa.

Let us check your True Net Worth now.

Rate yourself from 1 to 10. There’s no right or

wrong answer. It is completely up to you. You just need
to be honest with yourself.

1. Money - Are you satisfied with your money?

Are you financially free? Have you started building your
Money Farm?
RATE: ________

2. Health - Are you healthy? Do you feel good

with your body? Do you like your body?

RATE: ________

227
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

3. Relationships - How’s your relationship with

your family? Your wife or girlfriend? your friends? Are
you really close?

RATE: ________

LIFE IS SIMPLE

My life changed dramatically when I realized

that “Life is simple.” It may be difficult, pero simple lang

usually are not happy and not rich. Life is simple! Let me
tell you why.

and the rest are minors.
228
sa kalsada... most of these are just minor problems.

You can only have 3 major problems. Yun na

yung pinakamarami. Akala mo marami kang problema?
No, you can only have 3 problems kasi nga yun lang
naman talaga ang problema na nagmamatter.

And I’m telling you once you know those

problems are, you can prevent them from happening. I
am not belittling your problems; I think all of us have
problems and I don’t mean to belittle them. But all
problems can be solved.
Kaya
kung may problema ka, may solusyon jan. Life is simple.
maging problema at pwede mo pa ma prevent bago pa
mangyari.

These are the major problems you can have:

229
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

1. Money
2. Health
3. Relationships

These are the sources of your problems.

Pwedeng tungkol sa Pera

Wala kang pambayad sa bahay. Wala kang

pambayad ng tuition ng anak mo. Wala kang pambayad
sa utang mo. Wala kang pambili ng gusto mong gamit.
Problema sa trabaho. problema sa boss.

Pwedeng may kinalaman sa kalusugan.

230

All your problems are under these three main

issues: money, health and relationships.

yan. Pero nandyan ang main issue.

Ang kadalasang problema ng estudyante ay

magkaroon ng mataas na grade sa school. But their real
problem is about relationships and money. Baka

231
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Yung ibang problema like global warming, it is

about health. Yung problema ng terrorism, mostly it is
about money.

Every problem boils down to these three main

issues, and when you fix those beforehand, pwede mo na
maprevent yung mga problema.

MONEY

1 - 9. Siguro by this time, you already know the right
mindset, the right habits, and the right strategies of the

232
Rich. I’m really excited for you. So hindi na natin to
papahabain pa. Money is important and it is part of your
true net worth.

My advice is huwag mong papabayaan ang pera

mo. Apply these lessons in the book and I am sure you
will become rich financially. Nothing can stop you but
you. Believe in yourself and apply everything that you’ve
learned.

HEALTH

“Health is wealth,” sabi nga nila.

niya.

We know that health is important but most of us

neglect this area in our life. Ito ang problema we take our
health for granted. Minsan di natin nakikita ang

233
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

importance neto kaya napapabayaan natin ang ating

katawan.

3 out of 10 people are obese. Heart attack, diabetes, and
other sickness are higher than before.

Umupo kami sa bandang gitna, and I noticed na may
katabi kaming napakalaking tao, napakataba niya at may
tungkod sa tabi niya. may hawak siyang malaking
popcorn, hot dog with large softdrinks.
Napakayaman niyan, may sarili
yang hotel at resort.

Madalas hinihintay muna nating magkasakit

bago natin alagaan ang ating sarili.

Our health is our greatest possession. Eto yung

Minsan, we take our health for granted kasi akala

natin libre lang naman. “Okay lang ‘yan, bata pa naman
ako” “Malakas pa ‘ko. Di ko na kailangan mag-exercise,”
“Masarap kumain eh,” “Next month nalang ako mag-gy-
gym.”

kapabayaan mo. You need to start taking care of your
health today.

235
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Why do we need to take care of our health today?

1. To perform better

Hindi magic maging mayaman. It takes time and

so much effort. To become truly rich, you need the
energy required to do the things that must be done.
Energy, you need lots and lots of energy. We are done
with money, and kung iisipin mo it requires tons of
energy to be rich. You need a lot of energy para maging
successful sa bawat area ng buhay mo. That is why it is
important to take care of your health, because this will
give you the energy to do more and perform better to
become truly rich.

2. To prolong our lives

236
Gusto nating mabuhay nang mas matagal. “Time
is the most important resource you have.”

You need to take care of
your body para mas tumagal ang buhay mo.

3. To feel and look better

Sino bang ayaw maging macho at sexy? We want

to achieve that dream body, but keep in mind that
looking good is just a by-product of being healthy.
However, our main goal is to be healthy and to have the
highest energy to perform better.

237
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

How to Take Care of your Health

Taking care of your health is simple.

1. Eat Healthy

Eating healthy is quite simple but hard for many

people. Nakasanayan kasi natin na kumain ng mga
processed and junk foods. Sa Pilipinas kaliwa't kanan
ang mga fast-food.

But to be healthy you just need to eat more

organic food. Yung mga pagkain na nabibili sa palengke.
Mga fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh meat and fish. Eto

preservatives.

238
pagkain na matatamis. Iwasan natin ang mga juice, soft
drinks at alcohol. As much as possible water lang.

Ang number 1 rule ko lang sa pagkain is: The

simpler, the better!

The more basic yung food, fresh and green, mas

better.

2. Exercise

Whether how busy you are, you need to find time

to exercise. Everyone must exercise. And there’s no valid

If you will not use it, you will lose it.

whole day nakaupo, looking at the computer. Di na natin
masyado nagagamit ang ating mga katawan.

If you will not have time to exercise, your body

will become weak. May mga actions ka na hindi

239
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

magagawa, mababawasan lalo ang flexibility ng katawan

mo.

Why Exercise?
1. It will make you stronger!
2. It will make you feel good.
3. It lowers stress hormones
4. It improves your immune system

Tips for Exercising

1. Keep it simple, easy and fun!

I’m so lazy pagdating sa exercise! Kung ako lang

masusunod sana wala na lang ganto. You know I tried to
watch all the motivational videos, I tried to join courses,
and a gym membership, dahil gusto ko talaga
magkaroon ng 6-pack abs. But I just can't commit, titigil
ako after a week or two. What I noticed is that the more
I try harder, (stricter training, stricter diet with a coach,

240
lifting super heavy weights, more gym hours and days.),
The more I gain weight.

The harder I try, the more disappointed I

become, the more na hindi ako nakaka work-out.

ginagawa natin.

That is why for me the most effective way to

exercise is to:

1. Make it simple
2. Make it easy
3. Make it fun!

This is the most effective way for me to work-out.

dapat mag wowork-out ako everyday. Whatever it is.

241
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

And the goal is to make it so fun, na kaya kong tumagal

sa work-out and to push myself harder.

2. Focus on the process not the result

From the show, “The Biggest Loser”, makikita

pumayat as fast as possible.

And it is really effective! Effective yung work-out

and diet nila kasi pumayat talaga sila.

The problem is, according to studies, 2/3 ng mga

sumali sa The Biggest Loser, after a year bumalik yung
weight nila at yung iba mas tumaba pa bago sila sumali
sa biggest loser.

242
Nung unang beses na nalaman ko to I was
shocked. Bakit ganoon? Pinaghirapan naman nila di ba?
Bakit tumaba lang ulit sila?

The reason is, gusto nila yung result na pumayat

What I want you to do is not focus on the result,

but focus on the process.

araw-araw and at the same time you enjoy the process.

Focus on the good habit na mai-install mo, and

not so much for the result.

243
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

uunderestimate natin yung ginagawa natin ngayon.
Focus on what you can do today, yung habits na ma-i-
install mo.

And once you install the right habits para

maging healthy, dadating nalang yung panahon na
papayat ka talaga. And kahit na maabot mo yung goal
mo, you will still continue doing your right habits, kasi

Sleep

Sleep is essential.

Sleep is essential because your
body needs it to perform properly. Pero minsan we are
taking advantage of sleep. Marami sa’tin late na matulog,
4 to 5 hrs of sleeping everyday, dahil sa panonood ng
Netflix o pag scroll sa Facebook. Hindi natin

244

Better sleeping will give you tons of benefits. You

will wake up refreshed and energized. Everyday you
wake up gives you enormous energy to do all the work
needed. Here is the list of the benefits of Sleep that I
experienced.

Why do you need to sleep better?

● It gives you enormous energy

● It makes you healthy
● It helps you focus
● It gives you creativity

How to sleep better?

● Make your bed as clean and comfortable as

possible

245
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

This is important, Marami satin basta may kama

at unan ayos na ‘yon, but it is a good investment to buy
or use clean and fresh pillows, bed sheets, and a soft
blanket.

Why?

● This will give you tons of comfort when you

sleep.
● You give importance to your sleep.
● You will spend ⅓ of your entire life sleeping, so
why not make it fun and comfortable as possible.

Sleep before 12 midnight.

To be healthy, they say you need 8 hrs of sleep.

compared to sleeping 10pm and waking up 6am.
246
I read a study from Stephen Covey, a best-selling
author, it says times 2 yung oras ng tulog mo kapag
before 12 midnight.
tulog mo kundi 10 hrs. dahil yung tulog mo from 10pm
to 12 midnight, yung 2 hrs na yon, it is considered 4 hrs
of sleep. That is why it is essential that you sleep early.

No Phones, TV, or any gadget, 1 hour before

sleeping

Now this is crucial, these days the worst enemy

of sleep is your phone.
That is why to protect my good night sleep, I
don't use any gadget 1 hour before I sleep.

247
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

I sleep at 11 pm. I make sure by 10pm, no more

phone, no more TV, no more computer. Nakapatay na
lahat yan. Kahit anong notification, hindi ko na makikita
at malalaman. Kinabukasan nalang ng umaga.

I recommend that you do the same and it will

make your sleep so much better.

Keep a Journal beside your bed.

Why Journal? It pushes you to see the positive

in your day.

There will be days na badtrip ka dahil may

problema, o may nangyaring hindi maganda, at feeling
Pero
at the end of the day, kapag tinanong mo ang sarili mo,
“What are the 3 amazing things that happened today?”

248
nanjan lagi para sayo, o kaya yung simpleng may pagkain
kang nakakain araw-araw, may trabaho ka at may bahay
na uuwian. You start to enjoy the little things. Yung
pala. Kailangan mo lang tignan ng mabuti. Dahil for sure
bawat araw, may magandang nangyari sa buhay mo.

It makes you grateful for your life

When you are grateful, you are rich! Being rich is

not all about the money. You can have all the money in
this world, pero kung hindi ka grateful. You are poor.

The only thing you need to become truly rich is

to be grateful! Be grateful for what you have. Be grateful
for your family. Be grateful for your job or your business.
You are truly blessed. Use your journal to become more
grateful!

It helps you sleep better

249
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

When you are grateful, you are happy. When you

are happy, you are content. When you are content you
will sleep better. Ang sarap matulog ng masaya diba?
Mag journal ka for sure gagaan ang loob mo at magiging
masaya ka. And for sure, you will sleep better at night.

You keep a record of your life

If your life is worth living, it is worth recording!

Imagine having a record of every good thing that
happened to you in your life. Lahat ng masasaya at lahat
ng magaganda is written down in a notebook na pwede
mo balik-balikan.
When you are old
and retired, you can go back on those times, and
remember all the good things that happened. Or when
you are gone in this world, your grandchildren can read
and know you better. They can learn from you and you

250
can inspire them with your life. Record your life because
you are precious. Your life is worthy to be recorded.

This Book started from my journal. Nagsimula

naeexperience ko then I made a book out of it.

Doing a journal is very easy and simple! You only

need 5 mins of your time!

Before you sleep every night, take 5 mins to do

this simple exercise.

Get a notebook or a notepad, then answer this

simple question.

“What were the 3 amazing things that happened

today?”

Put a date on the top, and just answer the

question. Think about what happened on that day.
There is no right or wrong answer. It can be simple, or
extravagant - just answer it.

251
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

This is so powerful because it teaches us to be

grateful with what we have.

It can be simple, like this:

November 2, 2019

Simple, yet very powerful. Kahit na anong bad

news o masamang nangyari sakin, when I do this, it
reminds me of the good things na nangyari sa buhay ko.

every night before you sleep.

RELATIONSHIPS

ang mother-in law nya.

makukulong tayo habang buhay.”

and after a few months mamamatay siya. Dapat

254
para maiwasan na mapagbintangan siya, ang importante
mawala siya sa buhay nilang mag asawa.

Sinimulan niya nang makisama at maging

mabait sa mother-in-law. Hinahandaan niya ng
meryenda, tumutulong sa paglilinis ng bahay at
marunong ng makisama. Nakita ng mother-in-law ang
pagbabago niya kaya konti-konti rin naging mabait sya
kay ate girl.

After a few months ng magandang pagsasama

These are the most important relationships

you must not neglect

Relationship with your Family

You cannot choose your family - They are one

and only, you cannot choose them, and you cannot
change them. Yet sometimes we take them for granted.
Minsan hindi natin nakikita yung kahalagahan ng
pamilya, at hinahanap natin sa ibang tao yung
pagmamahal na tanging pamilya lang ang
makapagbibigay. You cannot choose your family, but
they need you and you need them. Learn to love and care
for them kahit na ano pa ang kalagayan nyo ngayon,
They are all you have; you
have no other choice.

They are the greatest source of inspiration -

they can be the greatest source of inspiration. Let them
be the reason why you want to be successful. Tulungan

256
mo sila makaahon sa kahirapan. ‘Wag mo hahayaan na
magsuffer sila. Find a way to become successful for
them, so that they can have a comfortable and happy life.

They are the greatest source of your

happiness - They are your greatest source of your
happiness. Iba ang saya kapag kasama mo ang pamilya
mo.
These
are the days kung saan ka pinakamasaya. Walang

Even if you fail, they are always there - Sa

buhay siguradong dadating ang mga malalaking
problema at ang tangi mong makakasama at katuwang
ay ang pamilya mo. They are your greatest support
system. Tatanggapin ka nila whatever happens to you.
They are all you have kapag nawala ang lahat. Nawala

Relationship with your Special Someone

Choose very carefully the special person in

your life - Choose carefully your special someone, they
can be the greatest blessing or the greatest curse.
buhay halos araw-araw. Kung tamang tao ang mapili mo,
you will have a great and happy life. Kung maling tao
naman, for you sure will have a terrible life. That is why
decision will make or break you.

They can be the Greatest Blessing - I can’t

imagine my life without my girlfriend, Rapunzel. She is
my greatest blessing and my greatest source of
happiness. She is my number 1 supporter, my best friend

258
and my everything. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang
mangyayari sakin o kung sino ako ngayon kung wala
siya. Almost everything I did in my life, from all the
businesses I started, all the problems I faced, kasama ko
siya palagi. That is why she is the greatest blessing of my
life. Maraming relasyon ay toxic, that is why if you are in
a great relationship then consider it a blessing.

Improve yourself - If you are single, the best

way to find a partner is to improve yourself. Improve
your looks, your attitude, and your career, and it is
impossible not to find a person who will love you.
Everyone wants someone who takes care of him or
herself, has ambitions and a great attitude. Focus ka
muna sa sarili mo, what can you do to become a better
person, then along the way you will find the perfect
person for you.
Even if you are in a
relationship, you must not stop improving yourself if you
want to have a strong and happy relationship. Hindi mo

259
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Always improve yourself!

Relationship with your Friends

Choose your friends wisely - Avoid toxic and

needy friends. Avoid those people who just use you for
their own benefit. Be friends with someone who inspires
you to become a better person. Be friends with someone
who supports you and accepts you for who you really are.
You do not need many friends. Di kailangan kaibigan mo
lahat ng katrabaho mo, o ng nakapalibot sayo. Mamili ka
lang ng totoo at palaging nandyan. And when you find
those people, protect them and take care of them. Hindi
madaling magkaroon ng totoo, tapat at maasahang
kaibigan.

Relationship with God

260
Having a relationship with God gives you a
purpose - Mahirap mabuhay kung walang purpose. No
amount of money can fill the void in your heart and only
God can fill that.
masaya. Parang laging may kulang. If you are connected
to God, at nagagawa mo ang will ng Lord sa buhay mo
then you will be happy and fulfilled kahit na hindi ka
ganoon kayaman.

You must realize that you are living not only for
yourself but to fulfill the will of God. At para malaman
mo kung ano yung will ng Panginoon sa buhay mo then
you must have a closer relationship with God. If you are
connected to God, you will be more happy and fruitful.
Read this passage from the Bible:

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.

He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while
every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it
will be even more fruitful.

261
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain

in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from
me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you
are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such
branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask
whatever you wish,

and it will be done for you.

According sa passage na to, Jesus is the vine, and

we are the branches. The vine is the source of life and
energy at yung branches cannot live alone. Kailangan
kumonek ng branches sa vine to bear fruits. Kasi kung
hindi wala siyang magagawa. At ganon din tayo bilang
tao. Kailangan natin kumonek sa Diyos for us to bear
fruits in our lives. You cannot do anything apart from
God. Marami satin na stress kasi akala natin we need to
be rich, work hard, and produce fruits. Pero ang una pala
na dapat natin gawin is to connect to God and
automatically we will bear fruits basta healthy ang
relationship natin sa Panginoon.

262
How to Take Care of your Relationships?

Be intentional

Be intentional! Ibig sabihin sadyain mong

alagaan ang mga importante relationships mo: Your
family, your special someone, your friends, and with
God. Mag bigay ka ng effort. Mag bigay ka ng oras.
Magbigay ka ng lakas. Most of us we let things passed by.
Hinahayaan lang natin ang mga importanteng
relationships sa buhay natin, wala tayong ginagawa to
make them happy or to be closer to them. This time be
intentional. Sadyain mo naman ngayong araw to take
care your relationships.

The best thing you can give to your

relationships is your TIME. Not money, not gifts. Your
time is the best thing you can give, kaya as much as
possible make sure to spend time with them every
single day.

A Little Note for You

Mahigit
limang taon ko rin pinaghirapan maisulat ito. There are

But I keep reminding myself that this is my gift

to the world. I want to tell my story and hopefully
someone will be inspired and take action in their own
life. I don’t intent to change everyone's lives, pero kahit
I want to live my life to the fullest
potential and inspire people to do the same.
266
A LITTLE NOTE FOR YOU

inspirasyon sayo. I put my heart and everything in this
book. These lessons are my guiding principles in life.

Now, if you liked my book or you learned

something or it helped you in any way or form. Please do
me a favor, I need you to do 2 things for me:

to hear from you. I want to know the people who read
my book. I want to connect with you. And I want to
thank you personally.

2. If you are done with this book, please give it to

someone who needs to read my message. Don’t let this
book rot on the shelf. If you have the means, why not
buy a copy or 2, and give it to others. Help me spread
my message to all Filipinos in need, because we all
deserve to be rich.

267
RALPH JOSHUA JAVIER

Before I end, I just want to thank all the people

who shaped me for who I am.

Mom, thank you for loving and supporting me in

every step of the way. Dad, thank you for your tough love

you for being part of my life.

To Bloomfield Academy, thank you for the many

opportunities you’ve given me.

To Pastor Edwin and Church of God Family,

thank you for making me closer to God.
