Steps to download Tally Prime

➔ Follow the simple steps to Download Tally Prime Software.
o First Visit Website in your Internet Browser : https://tallysolutions.com/
o Click on Download Button.
o Now click on Download Button Which shown in Image
o Click on Downloadeble steup file and Install Tally prime
Now click on start Tally Prime.
➔ Once you Click on Start Tally Prime – Below screen appear.

Chapter 2 : How to Create company in Tally Prime?

Create Company in Tally Prime

➔ Once you install Tally Prime – It will re-direct to Select Company Menu
➔ There you will get Create company option which shows in Below image.
➔ Select Create company option and Press enter to Create company

➔ And fill the details in company creation window as shown as below :
➔ But remember above details are basic details that you need to add you can add
additional details like Tally vault password and all for that Press F12 screen will appear
as follows
How to Assign Password for Company in Tally Prime

Activate necessary options : Enabled
Once you activate above F12- Configuration options Tally Company Creation window will look like
this
Now you assign password and username to your Company but remember forgetting your password
will render your data inaccessible.
Now hit Enter and Accept to Save your Company once save with the password you need to enter
Password to Open Tally
There will be two passwords : one is Tally Vault Password and Another is Username and Password
Now you are ready to Go……
But wait you can alter Tally Company Details too...For that Press ALT + K – to
access company menu in this menu you can change the company information,
you can shut(close) existing company
✓ Create : Create new company

✓ Alter : Change company Information (Name/Contact…etc.)
✓ Change : Change the company (Select another company)
✓ Select : Select company from created companies list (Selection use to
Open the company)
✓ Shut : Close Open Company
✓ Change user : Change created users
✓ Change Password : Use to change user password
✓ Use Roles : allow you to define multiple roles for created users.
How to alter company company Details in Tally Prime.

Press Alt + K – and select alter and hit Enter button
Now you can edit all the information of company Including name.
After editing all the details Press CTRL + A – to Accept the details.
How to create multiple users for the company

Press Alt + K – and select USERS AND PASSWORDS option and hit Enter button
Now you can assign Data entry users for your company
Enter username and created password for user, this new created user will able to access
only few options of Tally this use will not be able to check your balance sheet, Profit and loss report.
Chapter 3 : What is Account?

In simple words Day to Day Transaction of your Business which helps to know your business
financial status. (Account is backbone of any company)
In other words :
Accounting is a process of recording, classifying and summarizing financial transactions in a

significant manner and interpreting results thereof. Accounting is both science and art.
For every type of entity, whether it is large in size or small in size, it is very important to have
a proper system of accounting for proper management of an entity’s business operations. An
accountant must have a good understanding of the terms used in accounting and types of
accounts.
Types of Account :
3 Different types of accounts in accounting are Personal, Real and Nominal Account. Real
account is then classified in two subcategories – Intangible real account, Tangible real account.
Also, three different sub-types of Personal account are Natural, Representative and Artificial. In
this article, we will see the 3 golden rules of accounting with examples. Let’s begin.
Personal Account :
These accounts types are related to persons. These persons may be natural persons like Raj’s
account, Rajesh’s account, Ramesh’s account, Suresh’s account, etc.
These persons can also be artificial persons like partnership firms, companies, bodies corporate,
an association of persons, etc.
For example – Rajesh and Suresh trading Co., Charitable trusts, XYZ Bank Ltd, C company Ltd,
etc.
There can be personal representative accounts as well :
For example – In the case of Salary, when it is payable to employees, it is known how much
amount is payable to each of the employee. But collectively it is called as ‘Salary payable A/c’.
Rule for this Account :
▪ Debit the receiver.

▪ Credit the Giver.
For Example – Goods sold to Suresh. In this transaction, Suresh is a personal account as being a
natural person. His account will be debited in the entry as the receiver.
Real Accounts
These account types are related to assets or properties. They are further classified as Tangible
real account and Intangible real accounts.
Real Account Rules :
▪ Debit what comes into the business.

▪ Credit what goes out of business.
For Example – Furniture purchased by an entity in cash. Debit furniture A/c and credit cash A/c.
Nominal Account
These accounts types are related to income or gains and expenses or losses. For example: – Rent
A/c, commission received A/c, salary A/c, wages A/c, conveyance A/c, etc.
Rules
▪ Debit all the expenses and losses of the business.

▪ Credit the incomes and gains of business.
For Example – Salary paid to employees of the entity. Salary A/c will be debited when the
expenses are incurred. Whereas, when an entity receives any interest, discount, etc. these are
credited whenever these are received by the entity.

In above images you can see the different items store is different shop. You can not store vegetables
into sports shop and voice versa so group in use to maintain same category items together similarly
in Tally prime we are having different groups
