Speaking Task 2- Final Speaking Assignment

In Speaking Task 2, you work with your writing partner.

*The topic of your speaking assignment is related to the topic of your
writing assignment, but it is not the same topic you wrote about. Choose
a related topic you are interested in, and learn about this topic on the
internet (a video-clip, a TED-talk, a news item, etc.).

*Divide the content of your talk between your speaking partner and
yourself.

Here is an example for the topic of a talk:

Let us say that for the writing assignment you chose the topic
“The Destructive Effects of Shaming”.
You can google this topic on the internet. For example, check out the
following link:
https://www.thespruce.com/what-to-do-when-friends-criticize-or-
embarrass-you-in-public-4132463

You could talk about “what to do when friends criticize you in public”,
speaking about what you learned from the clip, and from your own
experiences.

*Your teacher will ask you some questions. The questions can be about
your topic, your writing assignment, and about your personal student
profile (speaking assignment 1).

The students-teacher talks will take place in class, in the last lessons
of the semester.

In your talk, use simple language. It is ok to use a list of notes/

reminders, but DO NOT READ OUTLOUD sentences from a written
page.

In the time schedule on the site, you see when your talk is scheduled. In
case you cannot make it on “your” date, please switch with another pair,
and inform your teacher of the change.
