Project Description (the hook)

Gather ingredients from distant themed biomes and craft them together to find the long lost recipe. Make sure you
don’t craft a wrong recipe or you’ll be in trouble!
Gameplay
Game Mechanics
● 8 direction movement from a top down 3D perspective
● Gather ingredients
● Manage inventory
● Puzzle solving (successfully combining ingredients to a useful recipe)
● Time limit in each biome
● Guardian that gives a recipe clue
● Super special item in biomes
● Expanding recipe book based on successful combinations
Winning conditions
● Long Term: Find and make the long lost recipe
● Short Term: Reach and exit the room in time with all possible ingredients
Losing conditions
● Run out of time in a biome (get thrown back to hub without ingredients)
● Run out of ingredients to make a recipe that either opens a new biome or can be used to make the
long lost recipe
Gameplay Loop

Story
The player wakes up in the middle of their wizard tower with no recollection of how they got there and only an
incomplete spell book, a conjuring device (e.g. cauldron) and a strong sense that something has happened and they
were searching for the long lost recipe. Little do they know that the long lost recipe is the elixir of life (or so they
think). Once used, the elixir sends them back in time to the beginning, collapsed in their tower.
Art Style
1. Bright natural colours (plenty of vivid primary colours)
2. Midway point between cartoony and realistic
3. 3D models and environment but not super high resolution
4. Sense of wonder and fun but also mystery

1. Calming/soothing and low intensity
