CMHS Band Update

Homecoming Week (Sept. 18-23)

Important Messages
● CONGRATULATIONS to the Marching Eagles for their second competition performance. They received 3rd
place in Class 3A at Tiger Ambush Classic. Special shout out to our parent volunteers - Edwardsville’s school
required quite a bit of walking on everyone’s part due to the distance between our warm-up area and their
stadium. Our parent volunteers got their steps in yesterday while hauling some heavy equipment - thank you
so much for your dedication!

● Friday’s Parade + Game Information

○ 2:30pm - Call time for parade, meet in the circle with all needed equipment for the parade
○ Dress for parade: Marching shoes, black socks (short or tall, up to you - I think tall socks protects your
heel from your shoes…), black shorts, band polo OR other jersey/shirt from other activities. It should
NOT be a general CM shirt - it’s either a jersey/other activity shirt or band polo)
○ Following the parade, buses will drive us back to CM
○ Students may sign up to eat pizza on Friday night. Pizzas will be provided for all interested students,
but they MUST SIGN UP. More information will be shared with your child during class this week, but
this is an option to alleviate some hecticness between the parade and game.
○ 6pm - Call time for game (this means be completely ready to go in full uniform at the practice field
for stretches)

● Please communicate all absences with me. Email is preferred - mdavis@bethalto.org

● Always ask yourself, what can you do today that will make your life easier tomorrow? BE PREPARED!

● A note on call time. Call time is the time you should be at the school ready to go. Call time is NOT
the time you are arriving.
