School Photographs – Tuesday, 15th and Wednesday, 16th August

Our photographers will be visiting our school on Tuesday, 15th and Wednesday
16th August to take individual and class photographs.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD ARRIVES AT SCHOOL WEARING FULL

SCHOOL UNIFORM ON BOTH DAYS!

Grade 1, 2 and 3 girls must wear white shirts

under their dresses. If your child has PE or
sport on those days, please pack their PE kit in
their school bags.

No payment is required at this stage.

Should you not want your child photographed,

please advise the school office in writing.

Aladdin Junior at WSPS – Grade Two and Three

Our Grade Two and Three learners have been invited to attend Westville Senior
Primary School’s annual musical production of Aladdin Junior next week, on
Tuesday, 15th August at 08:30. The learners will be walked to and from the
performance.

Monkeys, Lunchboxes and Litter

We are visited regularly by several troupes of hungry monkeys.

They are often brazen and aggressive. We try our best to keep
lunchboxes out of their reach, but they are quick and sneaky.
They are also attracted to the garbage bins and can be seen
rummaging through the wrappings for discarded food items.
For this reason, we request that you send an empty packet in
which your child can dispose of any wrappers, peelings, empty
yoghurt tubs, discarded food, etc and take it home. Please help
us with this ongoing challenge.

Congratulations!

Tamara Barnes – Grade Two (Mrs Wade) and Mason Roux –

Grade One (Miss Matthee) participated in the SA Karate
Championships recently. Tamara came first in kata and first in
kumite and Mason came second in kata and third in kumite.
Both were awarded SA JKA Colours which means that they will
represent South Africa.

Huge congratulations to you both – we are very proud of you!

And Skye Marshman – Grade One (Miss Matthee) participated in a gymnastics

competition during the school holidays and was awarded a silver medal. Well
done, Skye!
WJPS Trust – Golf Day

We have a full field for our WJPS Trust Golf

Day and the day is fast approaching!

A golf day is a perfect opportunity to

advertise your business. We are looking for
prizes for fourballs (4 of the same), smaller
items that can be made into hampers, lucky
draw and raffle prizes and of course our
auction is always a big success.

Your child has been given a Word

Search to complete and bring to school
with any prize donation you would like
to make. Donations can include
company merchandise, socks, golf
balls, chocolates, wine, treats, braai
tools, etc. Completed wordsearches will
go into a lucky draw for some lovely
prizes. Thank you to those who have
already sent in their generous
donations – we are so grateful.

Final Thought

On Sports Day, remember…

Winning is not the most important thing. It’s about the participation and
enjoyment of the experience.

Have fun tomorrow!

Kind regards
