 WORKERS WELFARE FUND
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR FREE EDUCATION (POST-MATRIC)

(A) ESTABLISHMENT – DEFINITION AND REGISTRATION

i. As defined under section 2 (f) of Workers Welfare Fund Ordinance and Section2 (b) of companies Profit (Workers Participation) Act,
1968.
ii. Public Sector Organization which are contributing through transfer of leftover amount under clause (a) of paragraph 4 (d) of
companies Profit (Workers Participation) Act, 1968 Paying contribution under section 2 (f) of Workers welfare Fund Ordinance, 1971
or otherwise?
iii. Establishment must be registered under law Factory Act, 1934 / Mines Act, 1923 / any other relevant Act.
(B) WORKER-DEFINITION REGISTRATION AND SERVICE LIMIT
i. As defined under the definition of “Worker” given in IRA 2011.
ii. Registered with Social Security or EOBI Schemes In case of non-registered worker an affidavit duly attested by notary public and
focal person of the concerned Labour department (i.e. Director , Labour or his Nominee) , may be submitted by workers
regarding correctness of particular given in the application, along-with two guarantors namely employer and CBA president /
General Secretary.
iii. 03 year cumulative service is required for post matric / intermediate level.
iv. Minimum three year cumulative service is required to avail the education facility at post intermediate level. However in case of
education till intermediate level no service limit is required. Children of deceased Worker are eligible to apply Scholarship subject to
the condition that the widow / Legal heirs of the deceased worker concerned have obtained death grant from Workers’ Welfare Fund.
v. Workers who become disable during the service may avail scholarship for their children subject to the condition that the disability is
proved through a legal medical board constituted for the purpose.
vi. Children of retired workers are also eligible subject to provision of service detail duly authenticated by the employer.

(C) STUDENT -DEFINITION AND REGISTRATION

i. Having at least passing marks in previously examination.
ii. Regularly enrolled / to be enrolled on merit for study.
(2) CATEGORIES AND RATE OF SCHOLARSHIP
In addition to all expenses of the students, vis-à-vis admission fee, tuition fee, transport charges, hostel /messing charges, registration fee,
examination fee, library fee, Lab fee, computer fee (except charity funds and refundable or non- refundable securities), a fix scholarship
according to the following categories will be paid:-

i) Cadet College / Public Schools being run by the Federal or a Provincial Government.
ii) Intermediate or equivalent course from Federal or a Provincial Board of Education or any Rs.3,500/-
Category-I
other institution re-cognized by the Federal/provincial Government. per month
iii) Technical Training Institutes registered with Provincial Board of Technical & Vocational
Education / Provincial TEVTAS/NTB/NEVTEC.
i) Graduation Degree (of two/four year’s duration) from a Public or Private University of Rs.4,500/-
Category-II
College/Institution affiliated with them, duly recognized by HEC. per month

i) Post Graduation Degree from a Public or Private University or a college / institution affiliated Rs.5,500/-
Category-III with them, duly recognized by HEC.

ii) Degree from and Engineering University / Medical College registered with HEC as by the
Pakistan Engineering Council or PMDC, as the case may be

(A) OTHER TERMS AND CONDITION

Further terms & conditions for the award of scholarships to the children of the Workers falling under Cat- II & III are:-
i) Students will take admission only in HEC approved courses.
ii) Student will take/ study all subjects in semester offered by Public/ Private College / University etc. as the case may be, and,
complete its course within the approved minimum time frame by the HEC, for the said course. In case, a student fails to complete his
course within the approved time frame of the HEC, his case can be reviewed on the basis of solid reasons submitted by the student
duly verified by Public/ Private College/ University etc. as the case may be, and supported with the documentary evidence.
iii) The student once registered in a course will not be allowed to change the selected discipline.
iv) Only one number Post-graduation Level course will be financed by the workers Welfare Fund, Islamabad.
v) In principle, the applicability of the scholarship scheme is up to the level of Post-Graduation. However, award of scholarship beyond
Post-Graduation level courses will be considered on case to case basis and will be allowed only with the prior approval of the
Chairman, Secretary (WWF), as the case may be.
(B) DOCUMENTS TO BE ATTACHED WITH APPLICATION FORM

i. CNIC of worker
ii. CNIC of child or family registration certificate or From-B issued by NADRA.
iii. EOBI / Social Security card / affidavit.
iv. Appointment letter of workers.
v. Admission letter from institution of in the name of students fee challan form ( in case of scholarship).
vi. An affidavit on stamp paper duly attested by the notary Public or Oath Commissioner.
That the particular given by the applicant are correct and if found wrong, the WWF reserve right for legal action.
