Traffic jam in capital city Dhaka has been a regular
phenomenon. Due to the traffic congestion, the valuable
times of the citizen of Dhaka is wasted. The Dhaka
Metro Rail is a new and innovative structure that will
elevate the capital city of Bangladesh. Started (Dec
2022), carries people on the Uttara to Agargaon section
on the railway line. Dhaka Metro Rail has been a
significant modernization to the city. Through reducing
road congestion, improving transportation options for
citizens, and reducing the reliance on personal vehicles,
the Dhaka Metro rail is improving the life of citizens and
also reducing pollution to help the environment.
The Metro MRT Line 6 is the key piece of the Dhaka
Metro Rail. It will run from Uttaral to Motijheel, covering
21.26 kilometers. There will be 17 stations along the
route, taking around half an hour for movement from one
side to the other. Currently, Uttara to Agargaon Metro
Rail has started for passenger’s transport. When the
Dhaka Metro Rail will be completed in Dec 2023, it will
carry 600,00 passengers per hour and 5000,000
passengers per day. Economists expect that the Dhaka
Metrorail project, once completed, will save tk 20,000
crore annually.
The Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Develop Project
(DMRTDP) project started in 2013 and cost 737.5 million
USD. The Dhaka Mass Transit Company was established
by the government in order to implement the project.
JICA paid for 75% of the cost with a loan, while the rest
was funded by the Bangladeshi government.
The metro rail line has many advantages. Dhaka is a
congested city with many people requiring transportation
throughout the city. The estimated daily ridership of the
Metro rail is 500,000 people. That is a significant number
of people not requiring transportation by vehicles. This
will reduce road congestion and air pollution. The metro
rail will be the most efficient means of travel through the
city. In addition, the metro rail will provide jobs for a
large number of citizens. Through reduced road
congestion, improved means of travel, job opportunities,
and reduced pollution, the Dhaka Metro rail will improve
the lives of citizens in Dhaka and improve the
environment.
Once finished, it will be the most economic, efficient,
safe, and reliable means of transportation in the city. The
Rail will help to elevate Dhaka into a modern city with
with equitable and environmentally friendly
transportation options.

regularly in our area.
Dhaka city is the largest city with millions of populations
that is consist of Dhaka South and North City
corporations. The drainage system, city congestion, and
humid environment make the city a breeding ground for
many insects, especially mosquitos. Insects are not only
disturbing to people, but they also pose many health risks.
They are vectors for many diseases such as dengue,
diarrheal diseases, skin rashes, and their excrement can
lead to respiratory tract infections and asthma
exacerbations. Children are especially vulnerable to
infections from insects due to their immature immune
systems and enjoyment of playing outside. Ultimately,
insects cause significant harm to the health and wellness
of the people in our community.
For this reason, our community is pleading for the regular
spraying of insecticides in key areas of the city. This
spraying will help to reduce the breeding of these insects
and therefore the spreading of diseases by the insects.
This should be done routinely, preferably once a month.
The spraying should be especially prioritized during peak
rainy season when insects are most populous. It would
also be helpful if we could establish a Committee on
Insect Control in order to ensure the spraying is done
regularly and properly.
In the circumstances stated above, we therefore pray and
hope that your honor would be kind enough to take the
necessary steps to perform regularly insecticide spraying
in our Dhaka South City Corporation and oblige thereby.

pedestrian. "Keep yourself cool" is easy to advise but
difficult to maintain. Still you must always restrain
yourself because at the end of the day, you don't want to
be regarded as a killer. Now you see, the last thing that
differentiates you from a computer is your conscience.

system of Bangladesh. Through providing primary and
preventative healthcare, covering a large population, and
involving the community people in the establishment and
maintenance of the clinic, community clinics are able to
improve the overall health of the Bangladeshi population.
A community clinic is a primary healthcare facility
serving a population of around 6,000. It functions to
provide routine checkups, vaccinations, women’s health
services, and other critical primary care activities. In
addition, it serves as a center for referring patients
requiring higher levels of care to appropriate facilities. By
providing these services, the community clinic is able to
help people maintain their health, recognize chronic
conditions early, aid in appropriate escalation of care, and
improve the health of the population. The community
clinic’s overall importance is tied to this ability to reduce
the burden of many diseases and hospitalizations,
therefore saving the health system money.
Community clinics are gradually being expanded in
Bangladesh so that more people are able to access these
facilities. With over 18,000 community clinics in the
country, more community clinics will be created in areas
that are far distances from healthcare. The overall priority
for expanding community clinics will be to reach the
remaining populations who have little access to
healthcare and ensuring existing clinics are providing all
necessary services.

Further expansion of community clinics should be

Health services in Bangladesh are divided into primary,
secondary, and tertiary care. There is public and private
healthcare, however the industry is dominated by private
healthcare.
Public healthcare services are provided by the Ministry of
Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW). Primary care is
provided through the many community clinics serving
around 6,000 people each, as well as in the Upazila
Health Complexes. Secondary healthcare is provided in
the District hospitals. Tertiary level care is provided in
the Medical colleges in the divisions and in specialized
hospitals.

The advantage to public healthcare is its ability to serve
all people, regardless of their socioeconomic status. This
increases healthcare access and ultimately serves to
improve population health. Improvements to population
health reduce the burden of disease on the country and
improve the overall well being of the nation. While public
health has many advantages, it has some disadvantages as
well. Providing healthcare for all citizens’ costs the
government, and tax payers, a lot of money. As such, the
quality of services provided may not be as elevated as
those comparable services in for-profit facilities. In
addition, some services such as laboratory tests and other
procedures, cost money.
Thus, there are many private healthcare services in
Bangladesh. Private healthcare focuses mostly on
secondary and tertiary care. These facilities charge for
their services, however the for-profit model ensures a
higher quality of care because these facilities survive on
patient payments. This can be a benefit to the healthcare
system as it can provide options for high quality
healthcare in situations where the government and public
health system cannot. However, private healthcare in
many cases limits high quality healthcare services to the
upper classes.
The healthcare landscape in Bangladesh is evolving, with
a growth in both private and public healthcare services.
The community clinic model is one of the most successful
aspects of the public health services. The secondary and
tertiary clinics on the other hand are dominated by private
institutions. There are benefits to both private and public
healthcare which can be seen in the healthcare system of
Bangladesh.
(b) Importance of Sports and games for the students

Sports and games have long been an integral part of
societies. Recently, the benefits of sports and games in
education has been shown. Sports and games are

There are different s types of games and sports globally
recognized. Some are indoor and some are outdoor
games. Some internationally recognized sports and games
are: cricket, soccer, basketball, badminton, Olympic
Games as well. Sports and games have deeper connection
with sound mind and sound body.
A sound mind lives in sound body, sports help to nurture
a sound mind that has greater and positive impact on
study, social life and career growth and development.
Now a day’s sports and games have also become a
profession, there are many popular athletes who are

Sports and games are the part and parcel of education in
school, colleges level. During this part of life is the
developmental stage both mentally and physically. It is a
great regret that in Bangladesh there are few institutions
who has proper field or ground where students can
practice and play. Besides, less scopes of indoor games

Capital city there is little so space for sports fields or
grounds so students do not have a space to practice.
Institution authorities and government should give
emphasis on structural development of co-curricular
activities like sports and games, both indoor and outdoor.
The country should develop a detailed model containing
more facilities both for male and female. If we invest in
sports and games now, physical and mental health will be
improved and maybe even one day we will see more
Bangladeshi representatives in international sports
competitions, such as the Olympics and World Cup.
In our country usually our parents think that if a child has
attraction in sports and games either indoor or outdoor it’s
not good and will have bad impact on studies. But it’s
time to change this negative attitude, everyone should
encourage to participate in sports and games in a limited
level, and if someone wants to be an athletes, parents
should support them.

Sidr: Bangladesh was attacked by Sidr in December,
2007. Sidr is a Singhalese word. It means ‘eye'. The
violent hurricane-devastated the southern part of
Bangladesh in 2007. The centre of the above-mentioned
cyclone looked like an eye. Hence,
meteorologists(আবহাওয়াবিদ) named the cyclone as Sidr. The
area of Sidr was 2 lacs and 50 thousand square kilometers
according to (অনুসারে) USA space research institute
(NASA), the speed of Sidr was from 260 to 280
kilometers.
Sidr was the fourth among the storms that emerged (উদ্ভূত
হওয়া) from the northern part of the Indian Ocean in 2007.
It damaged (ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত করা) 22 of the 64 districts of
Bangladesh.

of you during this pandemic and hoping you are safe and

Covid-19 here in Bangladesh has been quite
overwhelming. The recent lockdown has made us all feel
a bit at ease. The hospitals are packed with patients, the
streets feel empty, and there is a general sense of fear
around. Work has been stressful with the new PPE
requirements and new illness afflicting the patients.
Social stigma and general people are not much concern
about Covid-19 here as not respecting social distance,
hand washing, wearing mask. I am happy that I am able
to help during this time, but it is still a challenge.
How is US? Is there a lockdown where you are? How are
the hospitals? I read that your country also has been
having short lockdowns.

Ukhiya upazilla, under Coxbazar district. We are really
very lucky for having a Government Hospital in Ukhiya.
This is the only hospital covering a huge number of
people, specifically a population of about 100,000 people.
But it’s a matter of great sorrow that the condition and the
facilities of this Upazilla Health Complex is very
dilapidated. This government hospital doesn’t even have
the basic facilities; even clean washrooms are absent in
the hospital. The hospitals lack of basic hygiene and
cleanliness. They don't have proper beds, medical
equipment’s, or other essential services. The hospital isn't
organized. The medical store of the hospital doesn't have
enough medicines or medical instruments. The proportion
of Nurses and Doctors for this huge population is also
scanty. The doctors here are not at all professionally
trained nor are interested in serving the people. There are
many people who can't afford going to private hospitals.
The only option they have is the Government hospital. If
they don't provide better service to the People, many
people will lose their lives. We would request you to visit
this Upazilla Health Complex to have more practical
information.
In the circumstances stated above, we therefore pray and
hope that your honor would be kind enough to take the
necessary steps to provide better medical services to our
community and oblige thereby.

Primary school is the basis of one’s educational journey.
Primary school is the first place where an individual receives
an education. Primary schools are usually located in the
villages and cities and educate children from ages 4 years
old to 9 years old. They consist of government and non-
government schools. Primary schools are critical to the
education of a society and therefore should be prioritized.
The condition of primary schools varies throughout
locations. Some primary schools are very nice and well kept.
These schools tend to be in wealthier areas of societies.
Some primary schools however are less maintained and well
kept. These schools are often in the more poor areas. In
addition, there are both government and non-government
schools. The private schools are of higher quality, however
they cost money and then serve only people who can afford.
The public schools are free, and most are of good quality
therefore a majority of students attend public schools.
The problems in primary schools are shortage of teachers
especially quality teacher. There is not enough teacher
proportionate to students. There are not enough room for
students to ensure a healthy environment. The number of
books that are provided to the students are expected to be
memorized page by page. Because of of that the children
don’t read it to understand but to memorizes the words line
by line. Students fail to understand the pot, subject matter
and overall purpose of the text. Besides, the quantity of
provided books for primary schools are more than necessary.
Dropping out is still common in primary schools due to the
children’s need to help with farming, poor teaching methods,
crowded classrooms and unappealing educational
surrounding.
By focusing on reducing poverty, primary or secondary
education will continue to improve. In addition, improved
teachers training and continued learning would help improve
schools. Improvement on the national curriculum will also
help to develop the primary schools in the country and
reduce problems. Proper upkeep and maintenance of the
school facilities, such as renovations and the development of
outdoor playing spaces, will also help to create a positive
learning environment. Ultimately, funding is needed
however. The government, private funding, and outside
NGOs need to invest in Bangladesh education to improve
the schools.
Ultimately, education is the backbone of a nation. Primary
and secondary education are the building blocks for all
future education that students receive. Therefore,

Last week my father sent me a letter and I have come to
know that you are spending lots of time using Facebook.
As you know all of the creations of modern science has
advantages and disadvantages too but now a days our
generation is misusing these blessings of science. Your
Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) is knocking at the
door, so you have to study a lot to get a good result on the
exam. You can use Facebook but don’t cross your limit or
misuse it. If we spend too much time day by day our brain
will lose its efficiency, get tired faster, and consume more
energy, which makes us less efficient. There is also lot
of fake news on Facebook that can have a negative
impact on our minds. On Facebook we see someone
grooming outside, having nice time with the people they
love, spending more money than we can afford, and then
we become jealous. As humans we like to follow others
and comparing ourselves with others that can have
negative impact on us. Also, Facebook can indirectly lead
us to isolate and detach from society as we are spending
much time on Facebook.

16th December, we can arrange a program on our college
premises and address the importance of this sculpture of

dependent almost entirely on what sort of man was the king.

ruthless victim of the oppression of Pakistan for 24 years.
On the eve of 25th March night, oppressor's military of
Pakistani started their killing mission and massive
genocides took place on that night. For the sake of
independence, Bangladeshi people started the liberation
war on March 26, 1971. This day is celebrated in
Bangladesh as Independence Day. This day was the
glorious day when Bangladesh started its journey to

After the nine-month bloody war, independence was
attained in exchange for three million lives. A new nation
was born. Victory Day in December celebrates the start
of the new country that emerged on the world map.

Facts of the day: On this day in 1952, the brave sons of
‘Mother Bengal’ laid down their lives to protect the
interest of the mother language. After the birth of
Pakistan, the rulers of the West Pakistan wanted to
impose ‘Urdu’ on the Bengali speaking people as state
language of Pakistan. But everybody, especially the
students of the East Pakistan demanded Bengali as the
state Language. As a result, the Language Movement
took place and on 21st February,1952, Rafiq, Salam,
Barkat, Zabbar, Shafiq and so on sacrificed their lives.
Many more were injured and hundreds were arrested.

of nature becomes fresh (প্রাণবন্ত, স্বতেজ) and the nature
looks like the darling(প্রিয়) child of beauty.
Merits: Sights and sounds of spring have a great
influence(প্রভাব) on the people of Bangladesh. The beauty
and grandeur(বিশালতা) of spring make people forget
dull(নিরানন্দ) winter days and prepare for the hard, tiresome
(পরিশ্রান্তকর), and boring(একঘেঁ য়ে) days of summer.

The Rainy Season: In our country the rainy season
comes after the scorching (ঝলসানাে; অত্যান্ত) rays of summer.

Merits: During the rainy season water washes away the

sky starts to clear up at the advent (আগমন) of the season.
The weather is fair (চমৎকার) and clean. The beauty of the

The late autumn(হেমন্ত): The late autumn Hemanta is the
season of dew. Bengali month Kartic and Agrahyan are in
this season. It is the messenger (বার্ত াবাহক) of a coming
winter. It is neither cold nor hot. Amon paddy begins to
ripen and it brings pleasure to the farmer. They observe
(পালন করা) Nobanna' festival enthusiastically (আনন্দ উদ্দীপনার
সাথে) in this season.
Winter: The winter is a very interesting(মজাদার) season
which is pleasant (সুখকর) to the rich but can be painful
(কষ্টদায়ক) to the poor. Poush and Magh are the two months
of winter.
When the cold is tolerable (সহনীয়), it is indeed a pleasant
season to the people of our country. Crisp weather, dark
skies, and reduced humidity create a cozy environment
for spending time indoors with loved ones. In the villages,
people warm themselves by the fire. The cold wave that
occurs in many parts of the country can be harsh, so
people stay inside for a large portion of time. During this
time indoors, many people take to baking lovely cakes.
Farming still happens during the winter but the work
becomes harder due to the cold and the shorter daylight.
Luckily, food is still able to be produced. Although winter
is often a disliked season by many, it still has its merits.

most important thing in everyone’s life. Without
discipline one cannot live a happy life. It is the act of
living life following some rules and regulations.
Discipline is everything which we do in the right way in
right time. It leads us on the right path. We all follow
various types of discipline in our daily lives. There are
many examples like we wake up in the early morning,
drink a glass of water, go to washroom to get fresh, do
brush our teeth, take bath, take breakfast, go to school in
uniform at right time, etc all are discipline. For a student
as like you discipline life should be composed of reading
everyday at least 10 hours, go to school regularly, prepare
the homework, rising early in the morning and go early to

fast purposes to get information and knowledge to want to
get your subject, field, education, institution, etc.
Although we can say that it has revolutionized the world
from games to business. Having millions of benefits, we
will discuss here few which describe how it is beneficial
for students and schools. Study Relevant Materials: The
Internet is the world of knowledge. Students get study
relevant materials from many sites about the subject they
are studying. Many universities such as Harvard and
many others has opened up free courses for benefits of
students that are accessible for them free of cost. This is
really a big advantage for students, they can get lectures,
video sessions, without spending any charges. This is not
only for students but the teachers also get connected to
get various researches which enable them to reinforce
their lessons.
There are also some bad sites of uses of internet. Youth
students are watching pornography through internet,
which are provocation early marriage, to commit rape,
eve teasing and negatively affecting their mental health.
Some people are blackmailing others through internet.
There is also lot of fake news on internet that can have a
negative impact on our minds. Most of our students are
using Facebook, seeing someone grooming outside,
having nice time with the people their love, spending
more money than we can afford, then we become jealous
and we like to follow others and compare with others that
can have negative impact on us. However, everything has
good and bad sides and students should always take the
good ones from internet.
It will be good if you publish this column in your
newspapers and the concerned authorities will see the
gravity of this matter and will be aware of using internet
in a better way.

While patriotism has led to many positive changes in
countries around the world, it can also have some
negative effects. Too much patriotism or patriotism
channeled as superiority can be harmful to nations as it
can lead to ideas of national supremacy, genocide, and
violence. Examples of harmful patriotism can be seen
with dictators such as Adolf Hitler, Saddam Husain, or
Benito Mussolini who did significant harm to their own
countries.
Healthy patriotism can be developed in citizens by
creating an environment of trust and confidence in the
government and the nation. Patriotism can be cultivated
through celebrating national holidays and important days
of a nation’s history. In Bangladesh, this includes
examples such as Independence Day or Victory Day.
Overall, patriotism is important in a country. It helps to
create a successful and happy nation. Patriotism doesn’t
mean that if we fight with other country this fight will
reflect the patriotism, if we always think for the
betterment of our country in different ways in our daily
life that is also means of patriotism like don’t be involved
in corruptions. However, it is also important that
patriotism is an appropriate amount.

At first take my salaam. I hope you all are well in all
sides by the grace of almighty Allah. I am also fine. Now
come to the burning questions of this letter.
I am going to write you how did I reach to Dhaka for
BPSC Senior Staff Nurses recruitment exam that was
held last week. I started my journey two days back of the
exam date. I went to the Laksam railway junction and
bought a train ticket to go Dhaka. My departure time was
10 am but the train started journey after one hours later. It
was a very nice and comfortable journey, was enjoying
the scenic moment and greenish beauty of surroundings.
During my whole itinerary I took a small nap as well
reading my book just not to waste my time. After four
hours’ continuous journey finally I reached to Komalapur
railway stations. From the stations I hired a rickshaw
from railway stations to Dhaka Nursing College boys
hostel as my exam center was at Azimpur. It was very
comfortable and safe journey and by the grace of
almighty my exam was very good.

water, and avoiding consumption of harmful substances
(ex: alcohol, tobacco, drugs). In addition, good sleeping
habits like getting 6-8 hours of sleep per night, hoping to
bed early and rising early, and avoiding blue light can
help. A balanced diet of fresh fruits and vegetables and
protein sources is also key to maintaining health. Exercise
can also range from walking, to playing sports, to weight
lifting but all are important for health. Good lifestyle
habits will benefit a person’s mind and body.
Ultimately, one’s health is all anybody has. We should do
everything we can to protect our bodies and keep them

Barkat, Zabbar, Shafiq and so on sacrificed their lives.
Many more were injured and hundreds were arrested.

The genocide/ Independence Day: Man is born to be
free. When he loses his freedom, he starts protesting. To
get the freedom, he can do anything even he can sacrifice
his life. After the 200 years of British colonial rule,
Bangladeshi People became the ruthless victim of the
oppression of Pakistan for 24 years. On the eve of 25 th
March night, oppressor's military of Pakistani started their
killing mission and a massive genocide of took place on
that night. For the sake of independence, Bangladeshi
people started the liberation war on March 26, 1971. This
day is celebrated in Bangladesh as Independence Day.
This day was the glorious day when Bangladesh started

towards the traffic jam in the capital city.
Traffic jam in the capital city
The problem of traffic jam is acute in Dhaka. It becomes
intolerable especially during the time of beginning of the
schools, colleges, and universities. It happens when
different vehicles especially rickshaws want to move
ahead of each other. The street conditions and violating
the traffic rules are other reasons of traffic jam in the
country.
People especially the students and the service holders feel
much helpless and frustrated when they get stuck in a
traffic jam. Many people fail to attend their office in time.
The worst victims are the patients carried in the
ambulances to the hospitals and clinics. Rickshaw pullers
also suffer a lot because they lose their valuable time
moving very slowly towards their destination.
The people of this city think that this jam can be removed
if some measures can be taken sternly. Widening the
roads, reducing the number of rickshaws, and above all
developing public awareness are necessary for solving the
problem of traffic jam.
The dwellers of the city expect that the government and
other authorities concerned would come forward
immediately to solve the problem of traffic jam.
It will be good if you publish this column in your
