Review – Tour to Kampung Inggris Pare ( Brilliant)

On May 18, 2023 yesterday, the English literature study program held an event "TOEFL
Enhancement and Entrepreneurship Traning" which was located at Brilliant English Course
(BEC). The event opened with an introduction to Briliant by Mr. Dimas as the Operational
Manager. Furthermore, Toefl Tips and Tricks by Miss Isna and Mr. Unknow (sorry I don't know
his name). Finally, the material about Mindset and Entrepreneur by Mr. Abie. The next event
was the handover of souvenirs by Mr. Endratno as the Head of English Literature Department to
Mr. Abie as the Founder of BEC. And this event was closed with a group photo session.
As for some of the material reviews that I wrote, as follows:
A. Trick and Trick Toefl
As we already know that toefl consists of 3 components, namely Reading, Listening and
Structure (written).
1. Reading
 Try to understand every single word
 Be patient
 Not to read the passages first but the question part
 Type “main idea” : Read the first sentence in every paragraph, Double negative bevomes
positif, “or” means the word before “or” dan after “or” has same meaning.
2. Listening
 Pay attention to the 2nd speaker
 Avoid similar voice
 Looks synonym
 Duration use preposition “for”
3. Structure ( Written)
 Simple sentente ( S + V )
 Compound sentence ( 2 sentence + 2 Verb)
 Verb –ing cannot be verb if not linking
 When you have conjuction than the sentence becomes comple sentence pr comound
sentence.
B. Mindset dan Entrepreneur
An entrepreneur is someone who can turn their life into success. Everyone can be an
entrepreneur, the key is to be more disciplined than others. And learn from the failures of
successful people. Mr. Abie said that “ If you can change mindset better, you can change word”.
Being tasawwuf is also an important point in the process towards success, because as a form of
gratitude for all the blessings that Allah SWT has given. Knowledge is real, impitical and
scientific.

In addition, Mr. Abie explained the barriers to success as follows
 Loving the wrong people (in other words, wasting time)
Mr. Abie membagi empat kunci kesuksesan yaitu Jangan menghindari
