Description:
This module entails concepts, theories and practices of human resource management that managers can
use to optimize performance. The module also explores processes, procedures and activities pertinent
to the wellbeing of employees in organization.

Module Aim:
This module aims at providing students with an understanding of human resource, practices,concepts and
theory for use to maximize workers performance

Course Objectives:
The objectives of this unit are to enable students:
(1) acquire basic human resource management skills for use in managing organizational activities
(2) describe the different human resource management concepts and techniques for use in
organizations,
(3) demonstrate understanding of how one can analysis the different human resource challenges
and how they can be resolved in organizations for productivity to be enhanced
Learning outcomes:

At the completion of the course students should be able to show

 Demonstrate knowledge of the various personnel functions, processes, activities and


obligations;
 Carry out some personnel activities like; preparing job specifications and analysis designing
job adverts, and conducting job interviews.

 Identify and explore their potentials so as to put them to full use in future.
