Communication in business and global economic processes

“Global business expansion”

Complete the following task:

You are a representative of the economic and business sector in Kazakhstan. It is

your responsibility to negotiate with your Chinese counterparts a plan for
economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.

Write some benefits that this cooperation may give to both sides, as well as
unforeseen problems that are likely to arise during the process, and come up with
some solutions to them.

Welcome to Kazakhstan, dear colleagues! We, the economic and business

sector of Republic of Kazakhstan are glad to see you in our Annual cooperation
conference between Kazakhstan and China! I am a director of this significant
sector while negotiations.
It is not our first time being there. Kazakhstan and China are linked for more
than 30 years of diplomatic relations, which began on January 3, 1992. China was
one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Kazakhstan. For 30
years of friendly relations, our countries have been actively assisting each other
and protecting the sovereignty and integrity of countries' borders. As it is known to
all of us there are many organizations and dialogue platforms between our
countries aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries, in
addition, Kazakhstan and China participate in the same organizations at the
international level: Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)The Conference on
Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICA) and the United
Nations (UN). Friendly relations between Kazakhstan and China continue to
develop the centuries-old history of the Silk Road and expand cooperation between
the two countries in the fields of education, sports, tourism, culture, science and
other humanities.
This meeting brought us here for one common purpose: the establishment of
a visa-free regime between China and Kazakhstan. The agreement on visa-free
regime assumes that citizens of Kazakhstan and China will be able to visit these
countries without a visa for a period not exceeding 30 calendar days from the
moment of crossing the state border (a total of 90 calendar days within 180
calendar days). A total of 23 documents are to be signed by the parties. Also in
today’s event there will be a joint a memorandum between the Governments on the
development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, a memorandum
of understanding on techno-economic cooperation, Cooperation plan in the field of
industrialization and investment, agreement on mutual exemption from visa
requirements.
Of course, this negotiation is very effective and helpful for our future
relationships. However, there could be some problems at the beginning. Visa-free
regime does not imply that a person who arrives without a visa will be able to
officially find employment. This is exclusively a tourist regime. Fortunately, the
beauty of nature in Kazakhstan is enough. Also, the population of Kazakhstan can
cause a ruckus, saying that they are waiting for unemployment when people come
from China. But it must be said that Kazakhstan is not really such a priority target
for Chinese migration. Your people from China usually choose Southeast Asian
countries, primarily Singapore, but also the US, Europe, Canada, and Australia.
But we also need to talk about the risks of illegal migration. But according to our
plans, the migration service will have to tighten control at the border.
In conclusion, over the past 30 years, despite the constantly changing
international situation, the friendship between China and Kazakhstan has reached a
new level of quality. Kazakhstan, for its part, is doing its utmost to expand
mutually beneficial cooperation, deepen good-neighbourly friendship, maintain
common security and care for friendship between China and Kazakhstan. Thank
you for attention!
