BPETSSDO / BARANGAY PESO

Barangay PESO operates at the grassroots level, enabling more accessible and localized services for the
community. Since its Creation in March 25, 2018 thru its Municipal Ordinance No 2019-1305 an
ordinance mandating the municipality of Manolo Fortich to designate Barangay Public Employment
Service and Technical Skills Service Desk Officer also known as the Barangay PESO.

During the initial quarter of its operation year 2021, the PESO Manolo Fortich provided essential training
to enhance the capacity of our Barangay PESO's through a dedicated capacity building seminar.

On July 18, 2022, in collaboration with PESO Manolo Fortich, the Department of Labor and Employment
conducted a Basic Employment Service Training. This training was specifically designed to empower
Barangay PESOs in different barangays, enabling them to strengthen their capabilities and skills in
providing employment services.

The Wage Productivity Board of Region X, organized a training session on Wage Orientation and
productivity toolbox. This initiative aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants including
our Barangay PESO in matters related to wages and productivity.

The Barangay PESO’s worked tirelessly to uplift the community by addressing various needs and
providing essential services. Their responsibilities extended far and wide, encompassing programs that
aimed to promote equality, education, and empowerment.

One of their tasks of the Barangay PESO was the VAWC Information Drive. Recognizing the urgency to
combat violence against women and children (VAWC). They educated community members about their
rights, shared information on available support services, and encouraged reporting of incidents. Through
their efforts, they fostered a safe and supportive environment, helping victims find solace and justice.

As advocates of employment and livelihood, the Barangay PESO’ also helped the office in
implementation of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Program, such as (TUPAD
Program, DILP) They help in the smooth execution of this initiative, which aimed to alleviate poverty and
promote community development thru temporary employment opportunities.

Recognizing the importance of education, BPETSSDO or the Barangay PESO’s played a crucial role in the
localized Barangay Scholarship Application process. They diligently assisted aspiring students in
navigating the scholarship landscape, providing guidance, and ensuring that deserving candidates had
access to financial aid. By supporting these bright minds, the PESO team fostered a culture of learning,
enabling students to pursue their dreams and contribute to the growth of the barangay.

The commitment to skill development was evident through their facilitation of TESDA Skills Training
programs. The collaboration with the Manolo Fortich Technical Skills and Development Center to offer
vocational courses and certifications to interested individuals in their barangay.

Another significant event on PESO's calendar was the annual JOB Fair. They went to great lengths to
ensure that information about the job fair reached every corner of the barangay, making it accessible to
all. Their dedicated efforts in marketing and assisting the employment market were evident as they
worked meticulously to coordinate with local businesses, corporations, and government agencies.
Together, they fostered an environment conducive to fruitful employment matches, providing valuable
opportunities for job seekers and employers alike.

But it wasn't just about professional growth and employment; they also cared deeply for the less
fortunate. The Angel Tree Program was an embodiment of their commitment to spreading joy and
warmth.

Barangay PESO took their responsibilities seriously, always striving to make a positive impact on the lives
of community members. Through their VAWC Information Drive, DOLE Program Implementation,
Localized Barangay Scholarship Application, Facilitation on TESDA Skills Training, JOB Fair Facilitation,
and Angel Tree Program, they transformed the neighborhood into a vibrant and caring hub of
opportunities, growth, and compassion
