About Homeland Youths Social Inventive Organization (HYSIO):

The Homeland Youths Social Inventive Organization (HYSIO) is a non-profit, non-political, non-
governmental, and an independent organization registered with Ministry of Economy of Islamic
Emirate of Afghanistan under registration number (5651) and aims to increase the ability and
coordination among service providers, and to deliver quality protective service for most vulnerable
children. Our aim is to empower men, women and children in Afghanistan, particularly in rural areas.
We participate to create peaceful Afghanistan that could offer every individual the opportunities of
growth in equality and freedom, realize her/his potential and advance. Our services are designed to
transform the youth point of view toward society, human rights, and their role in determining their
future. Our aim is to grow and evolve into a force for change. HYSIO aims to empower and improve
young generation’s capabilities, achieve comprehensive and sustainable development through
providing services, programs, and projects. Furthermore, to improve their economic standing as well
as their abilities by creating educational, rehabilitation, and vocational training opportunities
followed with mentoring and guidance services. Since HYSIO’s establishment, its activities have been
increasing child protection in emergencies and up-skilling the youth, particularly in northern and
central regions and have established a strong network and operational capacity. Also, HYSIO has
developed knowledge and deep understanding of the local culture, geographical familiarization;
therefore, would be able to implement multiple projects smoothly at the same time. Previously,
HYSIO has provided services to meet the basic needs of the most vulnerable children from various
communities such as street-children, children on hunger, IDP’s children, unaccompanied and
separated children and household widows. Currently, implementing a project funded by UNICEF,
providing protective services for most vulnerable children and their caregivers in three Northern
provinces and NorthEast regions: Baghlan, Faryab and Kunduz. Our services include, establishment
of Child Friendly Spaces (CFS), provision of Case Management for unaccompanied and separated
children (UASC) including CAAFAG, provision of MHPSS as well as building capacities of frontline
workers on child protection. In addition, HYSIO advocates for the rights of children by organizing
community awareness sessions and decreasing hazardous risk for children and their families through
conducting Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and sensitizing communities on its risk and
prevention. HYSIO has been working to promote community engagement, child protection, and
youth development. Our main area of work is to advance our programs in fields such as ending
violence against children, boys and girls and promoting their fundamental rights. We want to
succeed in working on divisive issues and strengthen relationships between all major stakeholders in
the community.

Job Descriptions:

Provide supports and identification process of girls and boys according to their vulnerability criteria
in the targeted communities and carry out the affected children cases as per existing case
management SOP.

Identification and Registration of children in street situation and UASC for enrollment of them in to
Transitional Center.

Conduct awareness-raising sessions on mine risk, unsafe migration, GBV, and other child protection
issues in the targeted communities.

Closely monitor children’s situations and identify children at high risk of abuse, violence, neglect, and
exploitation.

Extend support to District CPANs and ensure linkage with provincial CPAN

Mobilize community members and their involvement in social behavioral change and response to
child vulnerabilities. Social mobilization activities on prevention of harmful social norms with more
focus on gender-based violence

Report on emergencies, displacements, grave violations, children’s causalities. Identify the needs of
children in an emergency caused by conflicts, natural disasters, etc.

Support identification, registration, family reunification and reintegration of Unaccompanied Minor


and Separated Children (UASC) and Children Associated with Armed Forces and Armed Groups
(CAFAAG)
Support mitigation, prevention and response to GBV cases including awareness raising, victim
response and coordination of GBV program.

Support the integration of services, coordinate with HYSIO and UNICEF program section extenders,
coordination

Coordinate response, conduct orientation, establish networks, and carry out advocacy at the
community level.

Liaise with community members, service providers, NGO partners, and government stakeholders to
identify and safely refer children at/in risk.

Job Requirements:

University degree in law, economics, social studies, education, science faculty or any related field.

2 – 3 years of experience in the relevant field.

Demonstrated good report writing and critical thinking skills.

Excellent Dari, Pashto and English language skills.

Proficiency in the use of computer office applications and email.

Should be familiar with the area’s culture, traditions and sensitivities.

Experience in working with and coordinating with INGOs and other stakeholders.

Strong interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills.

Able to provide clear and brief monthly reports.
