Job Advert: CHILD PROTECTION PROJECT ASSISTANT (Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance)

The Child Protection Project Assistant (BHA) will be overally responsible for supporting in the planning, implementation, monitoring,
coordination and capacity building of child protection actors, children, and communities on child protection in targeted districts. The role
requires one to participate and inform stakeholders about the project especially on child protection during various stakeholder forums conducted
in Bulilima and Mangwe. The position requires one to support the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting on child
protection programme across the various subsector activities (Child Protection, PSS, Prevention and Response to GBV and Protection
Coordination, Advocacy, and Information). The role holder will represent Save the Children at national and District level forums/ meetings to
ensure maintenance of good flow of information and knowledge on the programme.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary
working hours accordingly.

Location: Plumtree (Bulilima/Mangwe) Contract Type: National Contract Terms

Contract Duration: Ten (10) Months

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential
• A minimum qualification of a Social Science degree.
• Good interpersonal and advocacy skills and ability to network.
• Excellent research and report writing skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and other vernacular languages ( Kalanga/Ndebele/Shona).
• Ability to converse in both English and Kalanga/Ndebele.
• Higher knowledge of Save the Children’s ways of working.

Desirable
• Commitment to Save the Children’s values.
• Understanding of and belief in child rights programming
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Experience of working with USAID funded projects
• Knowledge and experience of working with children and youths in a child rights programming environment.
