Introduction
Standards are document that provide guidelines or characteristics for

product or process and they play an important role in trade and
commerce within all countries of the world.
The Seychelles Bureau of Standards is mandated under the SBS Act

2014 to develop national standards and to promote their use with the
aim to strengthen the economy of the country and the quality of life of
its people.
Seychelles Standards are prepared by technical committees having

participation from private and public organizations, industries,
businesses and the public in general so as to guarantee a wide measure
of consultation and support in the standard work. The committee
structure seeks to bring together all those with substantial interest in
particular projects and takes account of all significant view points
making use of foreign and international standards as reference materials.
Seychelles Standards developed by SBS covers areas in the field of

food, pesticides, detergents, construction, management, paint, electrical,
plastic and environment.
