D121 This course builds upon D120 Introduction to Product Design 1 and

that transform design practice into a disciplined form. The course offers a
survey of various theoretical perspectives, allowing students to enhance
their technical skills and conceptual rigor in product design. It ultimately
empowers students to position themselves as future design practitioners in
the ever-expanding world of design.
Throughout the course, students will embark on a journey that covers the
entire fashion design process, from concept development and sketching to
garment construction and presentation. They will learn how to translate
their ideas into tangible designs while considering factors such as color
theory, fabric selection, and garment functionality.
The students were asked to reimagine the vibrant and active Colon Street,
a well-known route in Cebu, and transport its essence to Ayala Central
Block. The theme of the fashion show revolves around the concept of
movement, aiming to recreate the dynamic atmosphere of one of the
oldest streets in the Philippines , Colon Street and infuse it into the heart
of Ayala Central Bloc.
With their designs, the students skillfully merged the elements of the
chosen art movement with contemporary streetwear aesthetics, resulting

The University of the Philippines Cebu's fashion design class once again
proved that fashion can be a powerful medium for self-expression,
cultural exploration, and creative reinvention. The students' innovative
interpretations of art movements transformed into streetwear aims to leave
a lasting impression, inspiring both the audience and the local fashion
community.
