INSTALLATION OF EXTERMINEX™ TERMITE BAITING SYSTEM

1.0 Inspection

1. Carry out a thorough inspection prior to installation. Look for active termite
infestation spot and installed the station there.

2. Gauge the termite damages on fixtures or mud-trails by using sharp object.

Pay attention in places like kitchen cabinets, toilets study room, stores.

3. Check on surrounding areas for termite mound, wooden pillars, wood stacks
and places that are in contact with soil, check on the history of the termite
infestation at the property.

1.1 What to see during an inspection?

✓ Active mud trails

✓ Swarming Alates
✓ Alate Wings
✓ Damages on structure and fixtures cause by termites

Remarks:

Make sure to check the property thoroughly to identified the best spot to install the
Exterminex™ Termite Baiting System.

Any area that are high risk but inaccessible should be informed to the client. If
possible, ask them to clear the space prior to next visit.

1
2.0 Installation

1) Assess the infestation area to identify the active infestation spot.

2) Ensure active termite are found prior to installation.

3) Fixed the location and position the AG station to be installed. Position the AG
station on the active spot and ensure it fits with lids can be closed and opened
properly upon visitation.

4) Seal the AG station using cloth tape to prevent invaders such as ants and
other insect entering the station.

5) Prepare the Exterminex™ bait;

- Measure 180ml – 200ml distilled/battery water
- Pour the distilled water into the plastic bag and mix the Exterminex™ bait by
performing a ‘knead dough’ until the bait has been uniformly mixed.
- Fill the AG station with Exterminex™ bait

6) Put the lid back on the AG bait station once bait has been placed in the
station, secured and label accordingly.

2
3.0 Follow up visitation

Follow up interval is every two (2) weeks; termites usually have consumed about
90%-100% of one pack of Exterminex™ bait. The two weeks intervals are continued
until elimination has achieved. Whether to top up Exterminex™ bait is dependent on
the observation during the examination of the AG bait station. Replenish the bait
once termites have consumed more than half (50%) of the previously placed bait.

With each baiting experience, you will gain insights and estimate the feeding
pattern/activity of termites during the baiting process. As such, you may opt to adapt
an extended time frame for AG visitation schedule to save operating cost as well as
for sites that require long traveling distance.

Once installation has done, the next inspection (i.e. first inspection) is carried out as
usual, which is in two-week time. Your next and subsequent inspections until the
colony elimination is achieved will be an interval of three (3) to four (4) weeks.

31. Exterminex™ Service Card

• Fill in the Exterminex™ Service Card accordingly for each and every station
on every visitation.
• Keep record and photos of each visitation for future reference.

3
4.0 Colony Elimination

Typical observation for sign of colony elimination;

No sign of live termite

At the end of baiting process, no live

termite found inside the station and
nearby area is a typical observation of
termite colony elimination sign. Further
inspection will be required to confirm the
colony has been eliminated.

Dead termites (soldier)

It is normal to observe dead termite

workers and soldiers in the AG bait
station. Overtime, these dead bodies
decomposed and resulted in slime-like
deposit, sometime with clearly intact
dead soldier head capsule. These are
tell-tale signs indicating that termite
colony has been eliminated.

Fungus or mold

Fungus or mold might appear at the early

stage of visitation due to the overly
humid environment or contamination
during bait handling.

Fungus or mold is also is a sign that the

colony is about to the be eliminated. This
is a sign showing that the termite
workers population in the colony has
been reduced.

4
Termitophiles

At the end of baiting process, a group of

small white insect is often observed
inside the station. This insect is called
termitophiles.

When termite colony weakened or

eliminated, termitophiles start to emerge
from underground and seize the
opportunity to colonize the vacant space
and parasitically feeds on weaken
termites and the readily decomposed
materials.
