Join nearly 150,000 high school members in 5,000 classrooms in 3,200 schools across the world who are
preparing for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, management and entrepreneurship. You’ll have
the opportunity to become an academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible,
experienced leader through participation in DECA activities at the local, chartered association and
international levels.
From community service projects, competitive events, educational conferences, leadership positions,
networking and social media, you’ll attain the knowledge and skills you need to be college and career
ready.
DECA is also one of only two clubs at Cedar Creek that earns Cougar Scholar Points for graduation!
EVENTS:
Members of DECA will have several opportunities to travel and compete. All students who join DECA will
qualify to compete at the state conference.

Louisiana State Conference- February 25-27 th 2023, Baton Rouge
DECA ICDC (national competition) April 27-30 th, Anaheim, CA
MEMBERSHIP:
A $30 membership fee with the attached form is due by Friday, September 22, 2023. This fee pays your
membership dues to the state and national organizations and for the login to DECA+, which contains the
competition study materials. Competition and travel fees will be separate once those plans are finalized.
Please see Mrs. Simmons (BAC 3) or Ms. Merchant (6 th Grade Hallway) for more information or to turn in
your membership fee.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:
National DECA is a long-time community service partner with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. All
members of DECA will assist in a community service project raising money and awareness for MDA.
More information about this will be available soon!
COMPETITIVE EVENT CATAGORIES:
The State Conference will be held in February. More information will be available later in the semester.
