Whereas it is expcdieot further to amend tlle Constitution of the Islamic Republic of

Pakistan for the purposes appea ng thcreinaller;

It is hereby enacted as lbllows

l. Short litle and commcncemeut.- (1) This Act may be called the Constitution
(Amendment) Act, 2018.

(2) It shall comc into forcc from the next geleral election

2. Amendment of Article 106 of thc ConstitutioD.- In the CoNtitution ofthe lslamic

Republic of Pakistan, in Article 106, in clause (l) for the table, the following shall be
substituted:-

Undcr the Constitution of the Islamic Repubtic of Pakistan, the State is responsible to
protect the rights of all citizens of the State and to give them true and just representations in all
rhe constitutional institutions and safegunrd their rights and interests District Chitral, which is
the most far flung and undeveloped / backward area of Pakistan has not been given fair
rcprese[tation in thc prcsent Provincial Assembly in view ofthe special siruation ol-this area

District Chital having population of 447,3 62 and wea 14,850 kilo meter square, has been
given only one National Assembly and one Provincial Assembly seat whercas during the general
elections (2013) thcre were two seats of the Provincial Asscmbly from Chinsl lt is impossible
for ody one membcr of Provincial Assembly to represent the people of far flung and arduous
areas,

Therefore it is imperative to restore the other seat ofProvitrcial Assembly from Chital, so
that the masses ofthe Province may get due represeDtation

This Bill secks to achieve the aforesaid objectives
