QUESTION FIVE - (Drakuru N. Magara B. & Kawafi I.)
Choosing the right supplier is frequently the key to obtaining quality, performance and price;
hence the sourcing exercise is critical to optimal purchasing performance. However, it is not
sufficient to merely select the most suitable supplier in the first instance. The CAO Terego
District Local Government desperately laments.
a) Explain to the CAO the different sources of information about suppliers and the qualities
of a good supplier (10 Marks)
b) Present to the CAO the professional supplier evaluation criteria (hint: Eligibility,
technical and financial). (12 Marks)
c) Illuminate to the Accounting Officer the challenges that the district may face when a
decision to make supplies instead of buying them from external parties is taken.
