Introduction
The project entitled "Stock Management System" is a software developed for managing
and controlling activities in the stock management industry.

The project is developed using HTML, Bootstrap, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and MYSQL.
Its main focus is on basic operations such as managing new stocks, stock categories, new
suppliers, and keeping records of available stocks, suppliers, and stock orders through the
admin panel. Users can view their stock orders, canceled orders, and available stocks
through the user panel.

The "Stock Management System" is a Windows application designed to run on 32/64-bit

Windows operating systems. The software is user-friendly and can be easily used by both
beginners and advanced users. It has a well-designed and attractive user interface.

The manual process of keeping records of stock orders, supplier information, order
cancellations, and refunds can be very challenging. Customers may also face difficulties
in finding specific stock items or determining their availability. To address these issues, a
Stock Management System has been developed. This system aims to streamline the
ordering process and provide an easy-to-use interface for both customers and
administrators.

The objectives of this project are as follows:
 To develop a computerized Stock Management System to replace the
manual process of managing stocks and inventory.
 To maintain detailed records of stock items and related information.
 To keep track of the availability of stocks.
 To manage records of stock orders, cancellations, and refunds made by
customers.
 To create an efficient system for managing all activities related to stock
management.
4. Methodology
Stock Management System is a platform designed for managing stocks and
inventory activities. It allows people from various backgrounds to access the
information they need for their business operations. Previously, a manual system
was used in managing stock and inventory activities, which involved the use of
paper-based documents.

However, with the rising need for technology in various fields, the manual system
is no longer adequate. As a result, a Stock Management System has been
developed to meet the increasing demands of the industry.
We are going to use the waterfall methodology while building this software.

a) Requirement Identification
i. Study of Existing System
In our existing system for managing stocks and inventory, all transactions are done
manually. This manual process takes more time for tasks like ordering or canceling
stocks, as well as searching for information about stock items and availability. Another
major drawback is the time-consuming process of preparing lists of available stocks and
verifying all records, which currently requires a full day.

To address these issues, we have decided to automate the manual Stock Management
System using computer technology.
ii. Literature Review
For this project, we conducted research and analyzed several websites and applications
related to stock and inventory management. Through our research, we discovered that
there are few websites or applications specifically designed for managing stocks and
inventory.

Many organizations still rely on manual processes to manage their stock operations,
which can make it difficult to keep accurate records.
A review of literature indicates that a computerized stock management system will:
 Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of stock and inventory management.
 Provide management information to stock personnel.
 Facilitate reporting on various stock and inventory operations.
 Increase the accuracy and speed at which tasks are completed.
iii. Requirement Analysis
This system needs to fulfill following functional and non-functional requirements.
 Functional Requirements
Users will be able to register and log in to the Stock Management System.
 Non-Functional Requirements
 Availability:
It will be available online.
 Security:
This system will be secured and all the activities of library are
implemented in a secured way.
 Performance:
This system will be designed for smooth performance with
optimization and good response.
 Reliability:
It will be reliable for the users.

 Hardware Requirements
 CPU – Intel(R) Core (TM) i3-1005G1 CPU @ 1.20GHz
 RAM – 4GB
 Hard Disk – 116 GB
 Mouse/Keyboard/Printer
 14” Screen Personal Laptop

 Software Requirements
 Operating System – Windows 10 Enterprise 64 Bit
 Tools: Visual Studio Code, Chrome
 Programming language: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap,
JavaScript, PHP
 WAMP server for MySQL database

b) Feasibility Study
i. Technical
We can strongly say that it is technically feasible, since there
will not be much difficulty in getting required resources for the
development and maintaining the system as well. All the
resources needed for the development of the software.

ii. Economic
Development of this software is highly economically feasible.
The organization needed not spend much money for the
development of the system already available. The only thing is
to be done is making an environment for the development.
iii. Operational
Customers and businesses are the target users of the computerized stock management
system. As a web-based system, they can access all relevant information about stocks and
inventory from their personal computers. The system administrator can authorize any
customer to order or cancel stocks according to their requirements through the
computerized process. Additionally, the system is affordable for all organizations and can
be implemented for effective stock and inventory management. Therefore, the system is
operationally feasible.
c) High level Design of System
i. Proposed System
The proposed system is an automated Stock Management System. Through our software,
users can easily add stock items, track inventory, search for stock items, update and edit
information, and quickly place or cancel orders. Our proposed system offers the following
advantages:
 User-friendly interface
 Fast access to the database
 Reduced errors
 Attractive and easy-to-use environment
All the manual difficulties in managing stock have been resolved by implementing
computerization.
ii. System Design

5. Gantt Chart for project schedule

6. Excepted Outcome
After the project is finished, the system administrator (stock manager) will have
the capability to manage all the activities related to stock management utilizing
the software. The administrator can maintain precise records of available stock
and customers in the system. Furthermore, customers will be able to check the
available stock and keep track of their orders and cancellations.
