The aim of this newsletter is to summarise previous events and TIKTOK

accomplishments in the EUGLOH project, and to raise your attention to
upcoming events that might interest you.

Kick off event, Munich
Renewed collaboration
The European University Alliance for Global Health has
entered its second phase with the official kick-off event of
EUGLOH 2.0 in Munich at the end of January. The event laid
the foundation for the second round of joint efforts to
establish a "European Education Area”. Ludwig-Maximilians-
Universität München welcomed more than 150 committed
participants from EUGLOH’s eight other university partners:
Université Paris-Saclay, University of Porto, University of
Alcalá, University of Szeged, Lund University, Universität
Hamburg, UiT-The Arctic University of Norway and the
University of Novi Sad.

Who is behind the internal and external communication of the
EUGLOH 2.0 at the University of Szeged? Diana Mustafa Máté Szepesi Mira Somlyai

We are a team of professionals making sure that the

University of Szeged is doing its bit for the overall
communications of the global alliance with the other partner Communications Team,
universities.

Similarly, we are also responsible for sharing news and

helping the information flow about EUGLOH events and news
that might be of interest of the local USZ community.

USZ - Student Board

Introduction
The Szeged-based Local Student Board (LSB) currently has 21
members from 9 faculties of the University. Their tasks include
the support of Work Packages on an international level from
the side of students. They are also taking part in the meetings
of the Executive and Governing Board representing the
students of the University of Szeged.
Locally, they disseminate the alliance's work, and they take part
in and organise events locally, while managing the social media
platforms of the local EUGLOH initiative.
The Student Board takes new members in the Fall semester of
the academic year of 2023-2024. Application will be open via
CooSpace.
Previous Event Highlights
First kick-off for EUGLOH partners at USZ
28 April 2023, the first EUGLOH staff member event was held
at the University of Szeged. Members of the EUGLOH project
came together from different faculties to discuss their
progress with the EUGLOH project.

Senior and new members got to know each other and laid
down the bricks for a successful realisation of the EUGLOH
project 2.0.

Porto INTERWEEK, 17-21 April 2023

Novi Sad Staff Visit, Szeged, 4-5 May
Working hard and overcoming demanding challenges while
having fun, getting inspired and having time to breathe and
smile. It might sound impossible, but it really isn’t. The EUGLOH
team at the University of Porto, led by Professor Tiago Gama
Rocha, provided a visionary and inspiring staff training where the
participants were working in teams to solve five EUGLOH-related
issues – all of them revolving around communication (e.g.: how
to involve more students, how to make onboarding around the
Alliance easier, or how to make everyone feel as part of a team).
They dug deeper and came up with some exciting ways to tackle
the problems. They presented their progress every day, aligning
the solutions and presentations according to the feedback from
the mentors. A tough program – still a motivating one, after
which all team members got to know each other better, realized
we face the same obstacles, and got even more motivated to
improve the alliance as we are all in this together.
Representatives from the USZ Rector’s Office, Mónika Gortva-
Kónya and Anna Szabó participated in the INTERWEEK.

2023
One of the main goals of the EUGLOH alliance is sharing
ideas and best practices as, even though they are
scattered around the continent, the 9 partner universities
usually face the very same challenges, and help is always
on the way – especially when it comes to new partners.
That’s why the EUGLOH mobility staff of the University of
Novi Sad ended up in Szeged last week. And although the
main function, namely to share questions, doubts, issues
from one side, and experiences, answers and know-how
from the other, was successfully carried out, we also had
some time to get to know each other better.

Erasmus+ Crossroads staff week in the
University of Alcalá, April 24-28, 2023
Representatives from the University of Szeged Rector’s
Department, Dr. Dénes Mátyás and Diana Mustafa participated
in a Staff Week at the University of Alcalá, Spain. The topic of
the staff week was ERASMUS+ Crossroads with special focus
on new forms of Mobility & strengthening relations between
the EUGLOH partner Universities. During the 5 days program,
participants had the opportunity to participate in interactive
workshops along with many other activities that assisted
building international relations and planning further future
cooperation.

Joint Innovation Challenges - Co-creation at
EUGLOH with Demola
Date: 17 Mar 2023 — 19 May 2023

Host: University of Szeged 4th International Symposium of Young
The course is a 9-week co-creation with international and
multidisciplinary teams along with the facilitation of Demola
Researchers on Medicinal Plants and Natural
Global. The course aims to teach about alternative research Product Research

Annual EUGLOH Summit 2023, Lund

Date: 12-14 June 2023

Welcome to the third Annual Summit of EUGLOH and to Lund University!

The annual summit gathers staff and students from all nine EUGLOH partners for three days, 12-14 June, and offers an opportunity to further
develop the relations and the EUGLOH alliance.

EUGLOH is a European university alliance, partly funded by the European Commission within the Erasmus+ programme. The European
Universities Initiative is one of four flagship initiatives in EU's vision for the European education area. Together with the Horizon programme,
the European Universities Initiative will support ambitious transnational alliances of higher education institutions.
With the annual meeting in Lund 2023, we welcome the EUGLOH universities to continue building bridges between education and research,
between countries and between students, teachers, researchers and staff.

On your way here, you will probably cross one of the region's most important landmarks – the Öresund bridge that connects southern
Sweden with Europe. Welcome across the bridge to Lund – to build new bridges.
