I. Project Title: Support Organic Agriculture Farmer Practitioners of Tuba,

Benguet.

Beneficiaries: LGU-TUBA, Organic Agriculture Practitioners in the
Municipality of Tuba
III. COVERAGE
The project will enhance further the implementation of organic
agriculture in the municipality. The fund will used to support the existing
production activities in the promotion of various organic inputs to
promote, propagate, develop further and implement the practice of
organic agriculture in the country that will cumulatively condition and
enrich the fertility in the country that will cumulatively reduce pollution
and destruction of environment, prevent the depletion of natural
resources, further protect the health of the farmers and the general public,
reduced thereby saving on imported farm inputs. Finally, this will
definitely increase the income of the local farmers who play important
role in the community as the backbone of the agriculture industry.
IV. Duration
Implementation
The said enhancement project will be started as soon as the fund
available and expected to serve the purpose for many years to come to
sustain the desired services as to its implementation purpose.
V. Source of Fund
The fund support will be provided by DA-RFO-CAR. The MLGU-Tuba
will also facilitate the proper implementation of the limited fund.
Likewise, the management will be the responsibility of the office
involved and closely monitor by the office of the Municipal Agriculturist.
VI. Potential for Development
With the existing production area and the production and research
support facilities together with the consistent support and effort of the
LGU towards its agricultural development and with the considerable
numbers of experienced farmer growers and the suitability of different
crop production and the availability of potential expansion as production
area for agricultural economic crops in the municipality, together with
the increasing support from the government due to its increasing market
demand, organic crops production as one of the sustainable livelihood is
very much feasible in the Municipality of Tuba.
VII. Perceived Problem/Constraints intended to address
With the provision of the fund, the program will be accelerated from
training to production, post production and marketing as the program is
just gaining its time and strength towards greater heights.
VIII. Project Sustainability Plan
Strict implementation the MOA will be observed. Monthly and quarterly
reporting must be done to consciously monitor and be aware of the
operational problems arising or any other matter related and to know the
appropriate corrective or preventive measures to be undertaken whenever
problem may exist and to ensure the success of the project.

Identified felt needs will be considered as priority and immediate

interventions to be done to address the confronting problems that might
affect the operations and might even worst lead to the failure of the
project.
IX. Objectives
Development Objectives:
1. To fully develop the organic agriculture industry in the municipality from
production to processing and marketing.
Immediate Objectives:
1. To establish rain shelters most if not all the farmers within the community.
2. More farms and organic products of Tuba be certified as organic.
3. Avail office supplies to deliver the needed technical assistance for capacity
building for organic practitioners efficiently and effectively the soonest
possible time.
X. Suggested Procedures and Methodologies
The said plastic sheets for rain shelters and tunneling will be given as
subsidy to the organic farmer’s practitioners and shall be installed at their
respective field in the Municipality of Tuba, Benguet.

Specific Consideration for the Subsidy

In order to capacitate the organic farmers and give them the merit of
purpose of the project and maximize the finite resources, the following
are suggested considerations to be observed
A. A farmer beneficiary must be a member of duly registered and
accredited association by the municipality to post all necessary
counterparts.
B. Must be an active practitioner advocate of organic agriculture.
C. Must undergone trainings conducted by ATI-CAR or within the
enrolled group for the ICS trainings for the third party certification or
presently enrolled in the farmer’s filed school on organic agriculture.
D. Individual farmer practitioners and or not a member of any organic
related association but maybe practicing organic farming are the least
farmer beneficiaries/least priority farmer beneficiaries in the particular
project.
The said project will be funded by DA-RFO-CAR, proper
implementation will be the responsibility of the local government of
Tuba. The plastic sheets for rain shelters and tunneling will be given to
the organic practitioners and shall be installed at their respective filed in
the Municipality of Tuba, Benguet.

Project Evaluation:
A system to evaluate the status and progress of the project will be
installed. Impact assessment of the project will also be under taken. Some
of the indicators would include the following.
At least 20% adjacent growers have visited the facilities set-up per
month. As a means of verification if the above indicators were not met, a
log book will be maintained by the in charge of the project the list of
clients who have availed of the services of the facilities. Feed backs from
clients shall also be solicited.
All necessary data shall be gathered and consolidated into a
comprehensive write-up for submission for records purposes. Whenever
possible, an executive summary should be at the cover page for the
convenience of the reader.
