Your car is an investment! Caring for and maintaining

your car is the most important factor in ensuring

that it enjoys a long and healthy life.

Every day, your car's exterior body is

attacked by a variety of pollutants such

as insect residues, dust, and

chemicals from the road

surface. These pollutants can

be damaging to your car's paint work and might become prone to discoloration and rust

if neglected for an extended period of time.

Washing the exterior of your car on a regular basis prevents the accumulation of these

pollutants and keeps your car looking its best at all times. Whenever it rains, it is recommended

to wash your car right away to eliminate the acid rain or every 10 days when there is no rain.

Hand washing is the safest and most thorough way to clean the exterior of your vehicle, but it

must be handled right. For proper car care, the use of appropriate cleaning solutions and

supplies are a necessity for maintaining your car clean, shiny and smelling fresh. Most car

owners use dishwashing soap to

clean their cars, but this destroys all

of the wax protection and strips the

useful oils out of the paint, just like

too much detergent does to your

hands. This dries out your paint and

speeds up the oxidation process. It is recommended to use a good car shampoo to safely

flush away the pollutants.

Some car repairs are inevitable as it ages due to general wear and tear. However, by properly

caring and maintaining your vehicle, many repairs can be reduced or even eliminated.

HOW TO COMPUTE THE CHEMICAL QUANTITY NEEDED FOR YOUR PRODUCT

As a general rule in making any cosmetics or homecare products, all should be weighed
uniformly (all in grams or oz) regardless if it is in solid or liquid state and should be
totaled to 100%.

• With the help of the table above, you can compute the quantity needed per ingredient (B), cost per ingredient (D)
and total capital of the whole batch (Z). Furthermore, you can make a trial 10g or scale up to 1,000 kilos or more
given that percentage(A) and price per kilo(C) is provided. In this example, we assume that we make a 500g
product (X).
• Ingredients can be more than five (5) and is provided in the module.
• Percentage (A) is given in the formula. Please refer to your module.
• Quantity (B) is the quantity ingredient needed per chemical. We use 500g product (X). Multiply 500g (X) to
Percentage (A).
• Price per kg (C) is variable (Note that 1000g = 1000ml = 1kg = 1liter)
• To get the Cost per Ingredient (D), you need to divide Price (C) to 1000 (this is constant because 1kg is equal to
1000g) then multiply to Quantity (B).

How to compute the quantity of each raw material or ingredient in your

product?

For this example, we will use the Carbopol 940 and assume 500 grams of product to
be produced.

The Quantity of Carbopol 940

Quantity (B) = “Quantity of product to be produced” x “Percentage”

Quantity (B) = 500 grams x 0.70%

Quantity (B) = 3.5 grams

You will need 3.5 grams of Carbopol 940 for 500 grams of Armor All.

The Amount (in currency) Needed for Carbopol 940

= Price per kilo / 1000 (constant) X "Quantity of Product to be

Procedure:
1. Add Carbopol 940 to Dimethicone. Mix until no visible lumps. You may use
stick blender to dissolve the powder easily.
2. Add Water to the mixture and mix properly in one direction.
3. Add Triethanolamine and mix properly.
4. Add Scent and mix properly.
5. Add Water soluble colorant (optional).
6. Add Acnibio Preservative.
7. Let it sit for few hours then pour to your desired container.

Notes:
• You will need preservative since this is a water-based product. If your will not add
preservative, make sure to consume the product within three days maximum to
extend shelf life, maintain high quality and prevent spoilage.
• QS is an abbreviation for Quantum Satis and simply means “Add as much of this
ingredient as is needed to achieve the desired result”.
• Suppliers have different price ranges that would result to lesser capital needed per
product.
• Use gloves and mask as much as possible. Treat each and every chemical with
caution.
• Mixing must be in one direction only.

Procedure:
1. Add Sodium Hydroxide to water and mix fully until all the Sodium Hydroxide is
fully dissolved.
2. Add Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonic Acid to the solution then mix fully.
3. Add Citric Acid then mix fully.
4. Add STTP then mix fully in one direction.
5. Add Water Soluble Colorant then mix fully. (This is optional)
6. Add Scent and mix thoroughly. (This is optional)

Notes:

• Sodium Hydroxide also known as Caustic Soda.

• Sodium Hydroxide or Caustic soda should be handled with care because it
can burn skin. If in contact with skin, immediately wash with running water or
spray with white vinegar.
• Keep in mind not to inhale the fumes omitted by this mixture.
• Always wear your protective gear. Treat each and every chemical with caution.
• QS is an abbreviation for Quantum Satis and simply means 'Add as much of
this ingredient as is needed to achieve the desired result.

1. Mix PPG and Vegetable Glycerin then mix fully.
2. Add Water and mix thoroughly.
3. Add Water Soluble Colorant.
4. Add Scent and mix properly then transfer to your desired container.

Notes:
• Colorant and Scent are optional. Adjust to your solvent.
• Solvent is the highest percentage in your formulation.
• Make sure to buy PURE form of fragrance oil. There are suppliers that sell inexpensive
fragrance oil due to the fact that it is diluted w/ oil or water. Make sure to double check
it with your supplier.
• Suppliers have different price ranges that would result to lesser capital needed per
product.
• Use gloves and mask as much as possible. Treat each and every chemical with
caution.

1. Pour Silicone Emulsion in your mixing container.

2. Add Silicone Thickener and mix in one direction.

3. Pour Water then mix in one direction.

4. Add scent and mix thoroughly. (This is optional)

5. Add Acnibio Preservative and mix thoroughly.

Procedure:
1. Prepare and weigh all the ingredients properly.

2. In a separate container, melt Carnauba Wax with water. (Subtract from the

water content in the formulation. Just enough to melt the wax)

(Carnauba Solution or CONTAINER 1 - Set aside for later)

3. In a separate container, add SLES to Water and mix until no visible gel is

present.

4. Add EDTA to water and mix fully.

5. Add one by one and mix properly the Vegetable Glycerin, Pearlizer, Colorant,

Scent, preservative.

6. Add LABS and mix fully.

7. Add CDEA & CB then mix fully.

8. Add Sodium Chloride then mix fully.

9. Add your Carnauba solution (CONTAINER 1) and mix fully.

10. Let it cure for about 12-24 hours to get rid of the bubbles.

Notes:

• There is no perfect formula for everybody due to the fact that we have different
water qualities.
• LABS is naturally dark if in pure form.
• Ideal salt percentage is 2-4%
• Too much salt will cause your formula to become hazy or not clear.
• There are scents that can cause your product to be opaque, though it won’t affect
the performance (cleaning ability) of the product, some formulator prefers clear
output. It is best to make small batches first to test if you like the end result.
• It is not necessary to pour all salt for it may reverse the thickness of the
formulation.
• You can troubleshoot thin consistency (due to too much salt) by adding
surfactant.
• You can add anti-bacterial (Benzalkonium Chloride 0.20%). Adjust to water
content.
• You can freely adjust the formula (example add or deduct degreaser or foam
booster). Just adjust the water content. (Subject for testing on your end)

Procedure:
1. Measure each chemical.

2. Add Fragrance oil to Carrier oil and mix in one direction.

3. Add Vitamin E and mix thoroughly. (This is optional. Explanation below)

4. Add Oil soluble colorant. (This is optional if you want your product to be colored)

Notes:
• No need of preservative since the formula does not contain water content.
• You can use any carrier oil such as Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, etc. The
outcome will be the same.
• Make sure to buy PURE form of fragrance oil. There are suppliers that sell inexpensive
fragrance oil due to the fact that it is diluted w/ oil or water. Make sure to double check
it with your supplier.
• Vitamin E act as a preservative to preserve the oil from being rancid. This is optional
but highly recommended since oils easily go rancid when exposed to oxygen. Thus,
oxidation occurs. You can add up to 0.50%. Adjust to your solvent.
