SITE VISIT TO FREEPORT APARTMENTS PROJECT ,

GRANT TRACE, FREEPORT
This coursework item is to be undertaken as a group exercise. Please see the MyELearning portal for the group
allocations. It is worth 25 percent of the total mark and the deliverables are to be submitted by 23 February
2023 in the MyELearning submission folder provided.

[Note: Make any reasonable assumptions deemed necessary; all drawings are to be included in the report;
all drawings are to be scaled and done in accordance with appropriate conventions; pencil drawings are not
to be free-hand. None of the AUTOCAD drawings shall be created by importing any files done by others].

Section 1 – A textual description of the roads design challenges and how they were
addressed. Provide an AUTOCAD drawing of the roads layout. Provide pencil drawings
of a transverse section of the typical road, excluding any drains. [25%].

Section 2 – A textual description of the drainage challenges at the development and how
they were addressed. Provide an AUTOCAD drawing of the drainage layout. Also provide
pencil drawings of the typical drain in plan, and a transverse section of the drain. [25%].

Section 3 – A textual description of a hypothesised two-story apartment that you have

designed for the site. Provide an AUTOCAD drawing, showing the layout of the columns
and/or walls on the ground floor only. Also provide pencil drawings of two elevations of
your two-story house. [25%]

Section 4 – A detailed textual description of the appropriate Health and Safety procedures
that should have been utilized on site during construction. [25%]

Group Instructions

The following guidelines must be applied in carrying out the group activities:

• The groups shall elect a leader who shall be responsible for submitting the report on time. The report
shall be a zip file consisting of the report as a pdf file, the AUTOCAD dwg files, and pdfs of the pencil
drawings. The plagiarism statement check-box shall be selected when submitting the file into the
MyELearning submission folder.

• All members are required to participate. Leaders shall report at the earliest opportunity any member who
does not participate.

• Components of the group work shall be assigned in an equitable manner.
