Assalam-o-alaikum, I’m Mufira Khalil and today I’m going to narrate a very interesting
story about the native species of Pakistan. As to make my story interesting and
understandable, I’ll give you full description about the characters involved in this story with
their pictures. I will try my best to describe all the basic story elements that include setting,
plot, conflict, climax, resolution, theme and definitely point of view. But before going in all
those details Its very important first to understand about the Native Species.

 NATIVE SPECIES:
A species that is within its known natural range, and occurs naturally in a given area or
habitat, as opposed to an introduced species or invasive species. Also known as
endemic species, indigenous species.

 NATIVE SPECIES OF PAKISTAN:

The indigenous animal species of Pakistan include a diverse variety of animals. Some
animals are endemic to Pakistan only. Baluchistan, one of the provinces of Pakistan
holds a wide range of animals that are only found in that area. The indigenous animal
specie includes mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, flying and crawling insects, and
fishes.

STORY
The CHUKAR PATRIDGE and HIMALAYAN PURPLE EMPEROR BUTTERFLY were
friends. They both had good friendship and always compare themselves with the other
species. They were always keen to learn in detail about the species so they keep making
friend. Even they were having some very dangerous animals also. CHUKAR PARRIDGE
said about himself
CHUKAR PARRIDGE: “ Well today I’ll tell all about myself. My common English name is
CHUKAR PARTRIDGE. The other Scientific name is ALICTORIS CHUKAR. And I came
from Azad Jammu Kashmir and Balochistan. I’m glad to meet you. Please tell me about your
self”
HIMALAYAN PURPLE EMPEROR BUTTERFLY: “Wow! Its great to have friend like you. I
‘m from Northern Pakistan, Azad, and Jammu Kashmir. My scientific name is Mimathyma ambica.
As we both belong to same region so I know much bout you. You know we are special type of birds.
The beauty of nature. We fly in the air and those animal that crawl on the earth cannot compete us.
They are useless. Their life is seriously so boring and of no use”
( Nearby RED SAND BOA was listening their all conversation and he angrily said,)

RED SAND BOA: “Excuse me you both great creatures. How dare you called us that we a
Crawling animals are useless and have no importance. Well also have a respectable family
and we also belong to a special region. I came from Southern Punjab and my scientific name
is Eryx johnii. I’m also a native species of Pakistan. I play a significant role in the ecosystem by
maintaining a healthy population between prey and predator. What is your role regarding ecosystem?

CHUKAR PARRIDGE: “Hey, we are not only the beauty of nature but we aid in dispersal
and germination of seeds from important native plants and thus may be beneficial in
restoring degraded ecosystems. So how you can deny our importance”
(Indian Red Scorpion appeared that was hiding at the back of tree leave. He just jumped
and start saying that)

INDIAN RED SCORPION: “ I totally agree with Red Sand Boa. How you can consider us of
less importance. Okay we are may be not that pretty or loved by the people but we are not
useless. Allah has created nothing useless in this entire universe.”

HIMALAYAN PURPLE EMPEROR BUTTERFLY: “Oh my God. Now this ugly organism is
showings its importance. Oh really I’ m shocked. I don’t think that you really have any
importance or you are useful. Can you please just let me know about your any one
importance”

INDIAN RED SCORPION:” Dear

INDIAN CATFISH: (There was an Indian catfish near the coast and it said)
“ See I’m Indian Catfish. I cannot even fly and survive only in water. But it doesn’t
mean that I’m useless.. We serve many different roles including as ornamentals, as
food fish in aquaculture, as research animals and for sport fishing. So dear friends
We all are important and useful. We are native species of Pakistan. We shouldn’t
degrade each other. We have to play our roles by respecting others.”

realized their fault. We all should always be careful when we talk. Making fun of
others is not a good deed. GIVE RESPECT AND HAVE RESPECT. Seconly

beautiful butterfly. As I told you that God has created nothing worthless. I ‘m of great medical
significance in densely populated areas of India and Nepal. Although I also cause fatalities
but this is what God made me and these are my functions. So how can you consider us
useless”

MUGGER CROCODILE: “Listen you native species. I also belong to Balochistan. I’m also a
crawling animal but it doesn’t mean that we are useless or worthless. Well we are the
important part of the Pakistan’s biodiversity and play a vital role in the country’s aquatic
ecosystems. Our population has declined in recent years and human beings are making
efforts to protect usand the authorities are ensuring that we continue to thrive in Pakistan’s
rivers, wetlands and coastal areas. See this is our impotance.”
