Quick Startup Manual

Step 1

Main
Laser Power Up
Switch
• Activate the power-supply using the “Main Switch” located
at the right side of the main unit or check for “On” (I)
position.
• Rotate the “Key Switch” clockwise to end position and back
to middle position.

• Wait for Windows and the WaveLight® FS200 Application to


complete boot-up.
• The login window will appear.

Step 2
Calibration
• The system will automatically enter the calibration dialogue.

Note: The link to a possibly connected server is indicated by the below mentioned symbols.
The WaveLight® FS200 is connected to the WaveNet™ Server.
The WaveLight® FS200 is stand-alone or connection to the WaveNet™ Server failed.

Prepare The Test Interface For Calibration

• Confirm message “Insert test interface and PMMA ” with “OK”.


• Confirm message “Attention: Reference movement in all directions will be started” with “OK”.

The system will now carry out the reference movement and the system will continue into a
Vacuum Check automatically.

Note: The patient bed motion is blocked to all directions during the “reference run”.

Step 3
Vacuum Check
• A successfully passed "Vacuum Check" is indicated with the associated green symbol in
the task bar and a green dot next to Vacuum Check in the initialization window.

Step 4
Warm-Up
• At the task bar “Scanner Unit is running” will appear for a view minutes and later change to
“Warming up Laser”.

• After completing the “Warm-Up” sequence, the system continues automatically with the
“Energy Check”.

Note: The warm-up time depends to the ambient temperature and might last a minimum of
20 minutes but might take more than 30 minutes in a cold room environment.
If the system is restarted after initial warm up is completed the warm up time will last
(depending to the room temperature) a minimum of 4 minutes.

Energy Check
• A successfully passed "Energy Check" is indicated with the associated green symbol in
the task bar, and a green dot next to the Energy Check in the initialization window.

Note: In “Treatment Mode” the pulse energy might be limited according to the selected
application. The maximum power used for treatments is not higher than 2.4 µJ.

Step 6
Ablation Check
• Must be initiated by the user.
• Confirm message “Confirm with OK and proceed with ablation check” with “OK”.

• Click on the “Ablation Check” button to start.

Note: In case the optical arm was moved out of “Home Position” the following message will

Ablation Check Evaluation


• To meet the criteria of passing the “Ablation Check” the following items have to be fulfilled:
- The last complete visible step of the stairway pattern must be parallel between the
orientation lines.
- The tolerance between the intersection line and the orientation lines is
± 5 µm in height.
- The ablated edge ring must be constant circular and between the two green circles of
the OPMI video image (diameter 10.0 ± 1.0 mm).

Step 7

• After having completed the calibration the system requires to remove the test interface.
Please remove the test interface and disconnect the vacuum tubing and confirm with "OK".
• The WaveLight® FS200 will automatically return to the “Standby Mode”.

• If one of the tests fails, the individual test can be repeated by pressing the related “Start-
button”.
• The laser is only ready for application on human eyes after having successfully passed all of
the required test and calibration procedures.

Step 8
Treatment Card
• To perform treatments, a valid WaveCard™ must be inserted into the WaveLight® FS200
user panel.
