II. Conclusion
- In conclusion, earthquakes cause a lot of potential dangers during and after
they happen, and people need to know what these are. First, we have tsunamis,
which can cause great loss of life. Second, we have landslides and rockfalls,
which can cause the blockage of roads and make evacuating more difficult.
Lastly, we have health problems, which can be less of an impact if we educate
and prepare ourselves. In summary, earthquakes are a natural disaster people
can’t control and if we don’t prepare ourselves for it, we could lose a great
amount of lives because of it.

Earthquakes and potential dangers they bring

An earthquake is the shaking of the surface of the Earth resulting from a

sudden release of energy in the Earth’s lithosphere that creates seismic waves.
These movements can be felt by us and can be terrifying. Earthquakes can change
peoples lives drastically. They can cause tsunamis, landslides, rockfalls, and health
problems. That being said, earthquakes cause a lot of potential dangers during and
after they happen, and people need to know what these are.

The first potential danger caused by earthquakes is tsunamis. Tsunamis can

cause great loss of life if people don’t follow the evacuation correctly. Also, they
can cause a lot of damage mainly to our coastal regions. In addition, tsunamis can
destroy animal habitats, which can be a very alarming thing. Although tsunamis
are one of the potential dangers due to earthquakes, so are landslides and rockfalls.

Landslides and rockfalls can be other potential dangers caused by

earthquakes. Due to these two things, houses in mountains can fall. Also, they can
cause the blockage of roads, which could be very dangerous if people need to
evacuate. In addition, they can also cause damage to electric, gas, water, and
wastewater systems. Even though these are potential dangers caused by
earthquakes, so are health problems.

Health problems are another potential danger that can be caused during and
after an earthquake. Some people may experience a lot of anxiety due to the
uncertainty they can give us. Also, people may experience panic attacks because of
the nervousness that the earthquakes cause. In addition, the aftermath of an
earthquake can lead to mental problems such as depression and suicidal thoughts.
All the previously mentioned things could be less of an impact if people educate
and prepare themselves.
