Divine Illumination

A piece of painting? A piece of art? Yes. As for the history in the arts, stained glass is colored
glass used to make windows and other objects that let light through. All colored glass is, strictly
speaking, "stained," or colored, when a variety of metallic oxides are added to it while it is still
hot. However, the majority of the glass used in ornamental or pictorial windows is now referred
to as "stained glass." The stained-glass window's unique color harmonies are not the result of any
particular glass-coloring technique but rather of the use of certain properties of transmitted light
and the light-adaptive behavior of human vision. The great stained-glass windows of the 12th
and early 13th centuries actually predate significant technical advancements in the craft of
glassmaking by more than half a century. They are rarely equaled and never surpassed. Even
though these advancements undoubtedly contributed to the delicate and refined stained glass of
the later middle Ages, they were unable to halt the art's decline; rather, they may have
accelerated it to the point where the stained glass artist was tempted to compete with the fresco
and easel painter for the naturalistic rendition of their subjects. The colored glass that is used to
make windows that are pretty and other things that let light through. All colored glass is, strictly
speaking, "stained," or colored. As for my work it shows the sign of the cross which represents
the principal symbol of the Christian religion, recalling the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the
redeeming benefits of his Passion and death. The other colors for example Red. Stood for love,
hate and martyred saints. Yellow stood for jealousy, treason and deceit. And lastly Green. It Is
the color of grass and nature and therefore represents growth and rebirth, life over death. And as
for the process of the making it was difficult as I could barely move my arms during the process.
