LAW OF SINES AND

COSINES
An oblique triangle is any triangle that is not a right
triangle. It could be an acute triangle (all three angles of the
triangle are less than right angles) or it could be an obtuse triangle
(one of the three angles is greater than a right angle).

LAW OF SINES → states that the ratio of the side length
of a triangle to the sine of the opposite angle, which is the
same for all three sides.

C. Ambiguous Case (SSA, Side-Side-Angle)


• occurs when two sides and a non-included angle are given (an angle
that is the opposite of one of the two given sides)
• there are three possible situations that can occur:
1. No such triangle exists,
2. One such triangle exists, or
3. Two distinct triangles may satisfy the conditions.

• It relates the lengths of the sides of a triangle to the cosine


of one of its angles. It uses the following formula:
