SUGGESTED ANSWER

Hello Nick,

I am honoured to be invited to the party. Thank you very much. I regret that I cannot join the
farewell celebration because I will be attending my cousin wedding reception on the same day. My family
and I will leave to Penang on Friday afternoon. Nevertheless, I shall try to go and see Mr Jenner before he
and his family leaves. They must be glad to be able to go back after being in this country for quite a number
of years. I will miss having him and his son as my jogging partners every weekend. I hope things will turn
out well for the party and do convey my regards to everyone there. Have a great time!

From,
Ryal

SUGGESTED ANSWER

My Pet Cat

I celebrated my fourteenth birthday in November last year and it was the best one ever.
It was already a school holiday so I did not see any of my friends. However, some of my friends
sent birthday wishes via Facebook and Whatsapp.
Later in the afternoon, a friend living a few houses away dropped by and asked me to
accompany her to my close friend’s house, Adila. I agreed because I did not have anything to do
and I had not seen Adila since the last day of school. What a surprise I got! It was a birthday party
and I was given a cute kitten as a present. I smiled all the way home!
I have always love cats but I have never taken care of one. From that day I learn about
responsibilities. My parents are not really interested in having pets but have agreed to contribute
money to buy food and litter sand. My two younger brothers also love cats so I thought of getting
them involved in feeding the kitten.
At first it was not so difficult. It was still school holidays so I had a lot of time. I needed to
feed the kitten three times a day. Every alternate day, I cleaned the cage and replaced the litter
sand. Most of the time I let the kitten in its cage and took it out when my brothers and I wanted
to play with it.
It was a bit challenging during school days as I usually arrived late in the afternoon. I also
needed time to do my homework and revise my lessons. I had no choice in trusting my two
brothers. They would be home much earlier and spent less time for studies. One day, as we were
playing with Bobo, my brother took out a hoop and Bobo jumped through it. It seemed that the
two of them had been teaching it to do the trick for quite some time. How nice!
Indeed, it is fun with Bobo around. My brothers love having it running all over chasing a
rubber mouse or teaching other tricks. I simply love it sitting on my lap cuddle it. I am thankful
that my friends had given a present which I can love and cherish.
