ORIENTATION WEEK PROGRAMME 2023/2024 ACADEMIC YEAR

MONDAY, 25TH SEPTEMBER, 2023 TO SUNDAY, 1ST OCTOBER, 2023

PREAMBLE:

Orientation of new students joining the University is done in order to:-

i) Acquaint the students with the University policies and procedures.


ii) Help the students to adjust themselves to the new life at the University
iii) Introduce the students to Senior Officials of the University.
iv) Familiarize the students with the facilities, amenities and services
available in the University, which includes:-
a) Academic facilities such as Libraries, Lecture Halls/Rooms,
Laboratories and Workshops.
b) Welfare facilities such as medical, counseling, accommodation,
catering, sports and games.
v) Introduce the studentsto clubs and societies.

MEALS
Meals are served at the various catering units in the university on
PAY- AS- YOU -EAT (Cash) basis as follows:-

6.00a.m.-8.30am Breakfast
12.30p.m.- 2.00pm Lunch
6.00p.m. - 7.30pm Supper

HALLS OF RESIDENCE
The Halls Officers/Custodians will be available to meet the students in their
respective halls of residence after registration.

OFFICE OF THE DEAN OF STUDENTS


Officers in the Dean of Students’ Office will be available during the orientation
week and throughout the Academic Year for consultation and/or assistance when
required.

ARRIVAL AND REGISTRATION

On arrival, students will be expected to register with the Universityat the


Registration venue as follows:-

1. Admissions - Verification of Documents and submission of


duly filled forms of the Joining Instructions.
- Signing of the Nominal Roll

2. Health Unit - Submission of the Medical Examination Form

3. Finance - Verification of Payment for University


Accommodation

4. Halls of Residence - Allocation of Rooms

NB: Meals are available at the various catering units.

DAY TWO: TUESDAY, 26TH SEPTEMBER, 2023

6.00a.m. - 8.30 a.m. - BREAKFAST

9.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. - Students to continue with


Registration at Central Administration
Block (School of Education & School of
Humanities and Social Science Building).

1.00 p.m. - 2.00 p.m. - LUNCH BREAK
