discuss why it has been considered as an ecotourism site or potential for ecotourism site.
Identify what variant of ecotourism it is.

Sta. Cruz Island

(Nature Based Tourism)

I think of Sta. Cruz as a potential ecotourism destination in our area. Sta. Cruz Island is
renowned for having a stunning and well-preserved beach. The Pink Beach is another name for
the Great Santa Cruz Island. It has wonderful pink sand that is created when red organ pipe coral
that has been crushed and washed ashore blends with white sand. Only day trips are permitted to
the Pink Beach. To prevent the beach from being harmed by visitors, Zamboanga City's
municipal government limits the number of persons who can visit it.
Though, I know Sta. Cruz Beach is quite a long way away from our area, yet I can clearly here in
our area where is the Sta. Cruz island. Since the beach I first chose is strongly affected by
visitors, I am unable to observe several potential ecotourism sites here in our area. I choose Sta.
Cruz island because it has the potential to become an ecotourism destination for Zamboanga as
well as our country.
