I/ MITOSIS:
1/- Introduction:
- Cell division, specifically mitosis, is essential for various biological
processes such as growth, tissue repair, and the production of cells for sexual
reproduction. During mitosis, a parent cell divides into two daughter cells
that are identical to the parent cell. This allows multicellular organisms to
grow and repair damaged tissue.
- The events of mitosis can be categorized into different phases, including
interphase (G1 and G2), prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
Each phase involves specific changes in the chromosomes and the cell
structure. For example, during prophase, the chromosomes coil and
condense, while in anaphase, the sister chromatids separate and move
towards opposite poles of the cell
- By observing chromosomes at different stages of division using a
microscope, students will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the
intricate process of cell division.
2/- Procedure:
Ingredients:
● 1 microscope
● Cell division sample mitosis specimen.
Procedure :
1) Place the cell division sample mitosis specimen under the lens of the
microscope.
2) Clearly identify the images of cells at each phase of mitosis.
3/- Results:

II/ MEIOSIS:
1/- Introduction:
- Meiosis consists of two rounds of division, known as Meiosis I and Meiosis
II, each with distinct phases similar to those in mitosis. During Meiosis I,
homologous chromosomes separate, while Meiosis II involves the separation
of sister chromatids. At the end of meiosis, four haploid daughter cells are
produced.
- The events of meiosis, including prophase I, metaphase I, anaphase I,
telophase I, interkinesis, prophase II, metaphase II, anaphase II, and
telophase II, are crucial for the proper distribution of genetic material and
the generation of genetically diverse offspring.

- Through this experiment, students will have the opportunity to observe and
understand the various stages of meiosis, gaining insights into the
importance of this process in sexual reproduction and genetic diversity.
2/- Procedure:
Ingredients:
● 1 microscope
● Cell division sample meiosis specimen.
Procedure :
1) Place the cell division sample meiosis specimen under the lens of the
microscope.
2) Clearly identify the images of cells at each stage of meiosis.
3/- Results:
Note: Sorry for not having a picture of anaphase II because our group cannot
figure out anaphase II in any samples.
