What causes hydraulic

movement at all in a used
New Holland l785?
I just bought a used New holland l 785 and
have no hydraulic movement at all. It starts and

runs but nothing moves at all. Where should I
start-what could it be?

Are you saying it has no drive and no hydraulics to boom or bucket?? If that is the case, be sure
it is full of hydraulic oil in the hyd tank. If still no action of any kind, You might want to look at the
coupler between the engine and the pumps. It looks like a small drive shaft with two ujoints. If you
have drive and no boom/bucket pull the last pump back and see if its turning. It is the pump for
the boom/bucket control. I hope this helps. Thanks.

ok, I have no drive , no boom etc. I have a very small stream of oil flow thru the gear pump and
the pumps get hot. Not sure where to check the fluid level. The one place I did check seems to
be full. The location seems too low to be the resevoir for the pump. John

The left hand frame has the hyd dipstick in it, they use the outer frame for the hyd tank. Thanks.

The dipstick I found is down by my right hand while sitting in the seat. Don't mean to sound
stupid but does it sit lower than the pump? Just making sure there isn't another dipstick
someplace else. If the pumps are getting hot, would your 1st response be the cause? john
