The study aimed to design a device that can dry newly harvested rice within
a short period. The study sought to address the following issues: (a) the
functionality of the machine in drying rice (b) the ability of the machine to
consume less amount of power without compromising its effectiveness and
practicality and (c) the quality of the rice using the machine compared to sun-
drying.
To establish the functionality of the machine, experimental development
and descriptive methods were used through the assessment of six purposively
chosen evaluators composed primarily of farmers.
The results revealed that the device was functional. Further, they showed
that the system could facilitate the drying process with the quality of the rice still
the same with that which underwent sun drying.

This study aimed to develop a system which can assure security of the clients’
baggage in the counter. Specifically, the study sought to address the following
issues: (a) the device’s capability of keeping automatically the item placed on
the weight sensor, (b) its ability to reduce the time spent by the customer in
checking in a baggage to the automated baggage counter, and (c) its capacity to
solve the problem of baggage interchange upon claiming.
Experimental development and descriptive methods were used in
making this study. Five purposively chosen evaluators were invited to assess the
functionality of the system as well as to criticize the work and to recommend
further improvement.
Findings of the study revealed that the design project could perform
what it intended to do.
